Definitions

  • the invention relates to a tilt device according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Such a tilting device is known from EP-B-1846.
  • this known construction has proven itself in practice, there are still some disadvantages.
  • several strong tension springs are attached in the housing under the seat to catch the user weight, and a locking device is arranged in the rear area of this housing. This must be at a sufficiently large distance from the backrest support bearing in the area of the center of the seat, so that the forces to be absorbed do not require the ratchet bolts or the ratchet plate to be dimensioned too roughly.
  • the relative movement of the seat to the backrest is not yet optimal when the same is inclined in order to avoid the "shirt pull-out effect". Due to the not yet fully optimized mechanics, the known inclination device is more expensive and voluminous than is absolutely necessary.
  • a tilt device in which the seat is advantageously pivoted about a horizontal axis in the area of the front edge of the seat, and in which a positive control between the backrest and the seat is provided, which leads to different angles of inclination and thus leads to a reduction in the "pull-out effect".
  • a disadvantage of this known construction is the spring element designed as a gas pressure spring, which is not only bulky and prone to failure, but can also only be adjusted to a limited extent to the user weight.
  • a proposed torsion bar would require a large amount of space.
  • Experience has shown that the thrust swivel in the front bearing area is subject to very high wear.
  • a similar inclination device is known from DE-C-3033953. Disadvantages are in particular the double-loaded backdrops, which are subject to heavy wear, and the user-dependent spring assembly.
  • a further reclining device in which the seat and backrest perform a forcibly coupled reclining.
  • a lockable gas spring serves as the locking device.
  • a disadvantage of this known device is, in particular, the swivel bridge, which serves as a connecting link between the seat support and the backrest support with simultaneous support of the gas spring. This means that the gas spring must absorb excessive forces. Furthermore, the relative movement between the swivel bridge and the pivot bearing is not compensated for by the rigid seat attachment.
  • the present invention aims to remedy all of these disadvantages, or at least to reduce them to a minimum. It is therefore based on the object of improving the known tilting device mentioned at the outset in such a way that the high level of user comfort and the consistency with ergonomic and biomechanical requirements are maintained or even improved, but on the other hand the device is nevertheless more robust and smaller and nevertheless more economical and so it's cheaper.
  • the latching mechanism can be attached to a longer lever arm and not only work more finely, but also be dimensioned less strongly.
  • the locking recesses are advantageously designed as locking holes, the locking holder as locking bolts, but the locking plate and locking bolts can of course also be designed as toothed segments and pawls, such as in DE-C-2341790 or DE-C-2642739, without departing from the spirit of the invention.
  • the inclination device according to the invention also enables series production in a modular system of more demanding and simpler models.
  • the seat is positively coupled to the backrest in a particularly advantageous manner.
  • the base 1 forms a housing which comprises the individual parts of the inclination device and can be fastened to the stand column of an office swivel chair by means of the cone receptacle 23.
  • the seat support 2 is not, as is generally the case, designed as a seat frame, but rather as a self-supporting seat plate. Only part of the lower leg of the angular backrest support 3 is shown. The part which extends upwards and carries the backrest is, as is known, not specially drawn.
  • Front denotes the area of the devices shown in FIGS. 1 to 4, which is on the left.
  • Back in the figures means right.
  • Front and rear refer generally to the front and rear areas of a piece of seating furniture.
  • the lower leg of the backrest support 3 is mounted in the area of the seat means in the bearing 18 on the bottom of the housing 1 so as to be pivotable about a horizontal axis. It has a front part which extends forwards from the bearing 18 and at its free, front end the locking plate 8, which is designed as a segment, is rigidly, for example cohesively, fastened. This has successive locking holes 19 into which a locking pin 9 can snap.
  • the locking mechanism is described in more detail in connection with FIG. 7.
  • a tension spring 5 or 5a runs on both sides of the lower leg of the backrest support 3.
  • the tension spring 5 is attached at its front end to the housing 1, tension spring 5a to the adjusting screw 12, which can be actuated from the outside by means of the rotary knob 13. By turning the length and thus the bias of the spring 5a can be changed in a known manner.
  • the springs 5, 5a are attached to the pull cables 7. These are guided over the deflection elements 6 designed as roller segments and mounted on the housing 1, and are fastened to the backrest support 3 on the other side.
  • the blocking forces of the locking mechanism and the spring forces of the tension springs are introduced into the backrest support 3 at optimal points with respect to the lever length, which enables a more modest dimensioning and a reduction in the number and size of the various components.
  • the seat 2 has a front and a rear seat support bracket 4.
  • the rear seat bracket 4 is articulated via the bearing 17 directly to the lower leg of the backrest support 3.
  • the front seat support bracket 4 is articulated via the articulation point 16 at one end of the tab 11, the other end of which is articulated at the articulation point 15 on the housing 1 (FIG. 6).
  • the seat 2 itself also performs an inclination and also performs a horizontal movement.
  • the advantageous effects mentioned result, inter alia, from the fact that the bearing 18 is arranged in the region of the center of the seat, for example below the user's buttocks, and the bearing 17 is arranged obliquely above it in the direction of the backrest, thereby largely pivoting the user when leaning back coincides with the pivot point of the backrest support 3 and the seat 2.
  • the horizontal displacement of the front edge of the seat when bending down, combined with a constant height to the floor for the back of the user's knees, is also very beneficial to the biomechanical movements of the human skeleton.
  • FIG.6 Details of the suspension of the seat 2 via the tab 11 on the housing 1 are shown in Fig.6.
  • the position 2a shown there shows the lowered position of the seat 2, in which it rests on the buffer 14.
  • the deflection of the spring forces over the deflection element 6, in particular in its design as a segment, has the advantage that mechanical spring elements can be used, but the housing can nevertheless be made very flat.
  • a lever 24 is also shown in FIG a gas spring, vertical adjustment of the seating can be effected.
  • the buffer 14 is shown in FIG. 1, which can consist of an elastic material, for example rubber, and which supports the seat 2 in the lowered position.
  • the seat support brackets 4 and associated bearing elements 11, 15, 16, 17 are replaced by rigid holders 27 in the form of spacer sleeves which hold the seat 2 in a constant, horizontal position.
  • the seat 2 is no longer tiltable in favor of lower costs.
  • the locking pin 9 advantageously has two stable horizontal positions that can be easily adjusted from the outside by the same actuation movement, and both a locked sitting position and enable dynamic sitting in an oscillating motion.
  • the bistable function is achieved in that a ball 10 is guided in the movement channel 26 on the surface of the bolt 9 on the one hand, and in the transverse groove 25 of the housing enclosing the bolt 9 on the other hand, which is due to the special design of the movement channel and under the influence of Spring elements 21 can be brought into two stable positions one behind the other.
  • the setting in the two positions (locked and unlocked) is therefore based on the principle known from the ballpoint pen.
  • the locking pin 9 is actuated from the outside via the button 20, which is connected to a slide piece 22 via a spring element 21 as a pull-out protection.
  • the locking bolt 9 has a retaining lug 28 which engages behind the locking plate 9 when passing through a locking hole 19 and points upward. This ensures that the locking can not be released in the unloaded state, i.e. usually unintentionally, and the seat can spring forward under the action of the springs 5.5a: namely, the locking plate 8 is in the nasal depression by the spring forces 5.5a pressed in so that unlocking is not possible.
  • the unlocking can only be carried out when the user exerts a force counteracting the spring forces by sitting down.
  • the retaining lug 28 can be produced in a simple manner in that the round locking bolt 9 in the contact area with the locking hole 19 is crescent-shaped by a small amount.
  • the button 20 acts on the slidably arranged slide piece 22 on the bolt 9, which acts on the spring element 21, which is supported on a disk on the bolt 9.
  • pull-out protection is achieved: since the spring force of the element 21 is greater than the forces required for locking or unlocking in the normal state, the actuating forces are transmitted from the key 20 to the bolt 9 essentially undiminished in such a normal case.
  • the spring element 21 is compressed when the button 20 is pressed and absorbs the key force. A tearing off of the retaining lug 28 is thereby successfully prevented, and also the subsequent forward movement of the seat.
  • the tilting device described has the advantage that it is designed as a separate, compact add-on element to be fitted under the seat and can therefore be fitted under a wide variety of seat tops, with or without armrests.
