Description

The present invention relates to relaxation chairs and more particularly to those used outside.

There are a considerable number of relaxation chairs, deckchairs and similar devices intended for resting outside on the market. Some of these devices are of the "wheelbarrow" type, that is to say that they comprise a chassis, one of the ends of which is associated with a pair of wheels. In this type of article, the backrest is sometimes reclining in several positions, while the legrest is made in one piece with the article or independent of it. In certain cases also, there are relaxation chairs of the kind in question, the legrest of which is articulated to the seat surface and sometimes comprises two articulated panels.

In all cases, it is essential that the user gets up from the chair if he wishes to change the inclination of the backrest and / or the legrest, which is a drawback. In addition, the so-called "wheelbarrow" relaxation chairs cannot be stacked due to the presence of the wheels.

The improvements which are the subject of the present invention aim to remedy the drawbacks of known relaxation chairs and to allow the production of such a chair which responds better than hitherto to the various wishes of users.

The relaxation chair according to the invention of the kind comprising a frame mounted on legs, a seat surface fixed to the frame and relative to which are pivotally mounted, at the back a backrest with several positions, and at the front a legrest in two articulated panels, is characterized in that the backrest is associated with two armrests which hang on the chassis in at least one position, so as to determine the inclination of this backrest. Each of the armrests has at its free end opposite to that which is articulated with respect to the backrest, a finger which penetrates into one or the other of perforations formed in an inclined partition. located in the upper part of a corresponding leg of the chassis in order to determine various positions of the backrest.

  • F ig. 9 is a view similar to that of FIG. 4, but corresponding to the position of the leg rest of the chair illustrated in FIG. 6.

The relaxation chair according to the invention firstly comprises a frame 1 illustrated in FIG. 1. This comprises two beams 2, 3 joined by crosspieces 4, 5, 6 and 7. It is observed that the crosspiece 4 joins one of the ends of the two beams 2 and 3, while that 6 is located approximately two-thirds of their length. As for the cross-member 7, it brings together, as illustrated, the ends of the side members opposite to those which are connected by the cross-member 4.

Les, ailes de chaque pied sont légèrement convergentes en direction du sol et sont réunies par une patte 10 destinée à reposer sur celui-ci.Note that in front of the crosspieces 4 and 6, the outer face of the side members 2 and 3 carries feet 8, respectively 9; each of these has a horizontal cross section in the form of a U, the vertical central veil 8a, 9a is located near each spar, while the wings 8b, 9b are directed towards the outside. The wings of each foot are slightly convergent towards the ground and are joined by a tab 10 intended to rest on it.

In other words, the feet have the general shape of a V open towards the top.

2). De façon identique, les pivots 13 et 15 servent à l'articulation d'un dossier 17 par rapport à la surface de siège 11.One of the wings 9b of the feet 9 which is located at the rear has an inclined partition 9c for reasons which will be better explained below. Above the cross-member 5 which is roughly in the middle of the longitudinal members 2 and 3, but whose position is in fact of no importance, a seat surface 11 has been placed made by means of a narrow transverse slat which is fixedly associated above the side members 2 and 3. On either side of the two ends of the seat surface 11, two horizontal pivots 12, 13 and 14, 15 are provided. The pivots 12 and 14 are located in alignment with one another so as to constitute with a corresponding part a hinge for a legrest 16 (fig. 2). Similarly, the pivots 13 and 15 are used to articulate a backrest 17 relative to the seat surface 11.

3. Bien entendu, lorsque le dossier est rabattu contre le châssis, il est maintenu en position horizontale par la traverse 4.On each of the lateral sides of the backrest 17 is articulated an armrest 18 whose free end comes to rest against a horizontal extension 9d of the oblique partition 9c of the corresponding leg, as illustrated in FIG. 3. Of course, when the backrest is folded against the chassis, it is held in a horizontal position by the cross-member 4.

The legrest 16 which is articulated around the pivots 12 and 14, is produced by means of two panels 16a, 16b, the first of which comprises, at one of its ends, means for articulating around the pivots 12 , 14. The other end of the panel 16a is pivotally associated with the end panel 16b. The latter has on its outer face transverse reinforcing ribs referenced 16c. Two of these ribs are elongated in the direction of the bottom so that in the horizontal position of the legrest, one of these ribs referenced 16d abuts against two corners 7a formed at each end of the cross member 7, as illustrated in FIG. 1. The vertical lateral faces of the panel 16b each have a cutaway 16th which, in the position of FIG. 4, rests against the oblique face of the corresponding corner 7a.

7 et 8).When a user is lying supine on the relaxation chair, the elements of which are horizontal, its foundation rests on the seat surface 11. If the user sits down, he can grasp the armrests and move them forward in order to tilt the backrest upwards, for example as illustrated in fig. 5 and 6. In the first of these positions, it can bring a finger 18a of the armrest into one or the other of two perforations produced in the form of slots 19, 20 formed transversely in the partition 9c of the foot 9 corresponding. Each finger has a groove 18b in which the upper rounded edge 19a, 20a of each perforation 19, 20 is resiliently positioned. It is observed that for this purpose the finger has a certain thickness so that it cooperates with the two edges of each slot, so that the armrest is stuck in one or the other of its two positions which determine those of the backrest 17 (fig. 7 and 8).

As illustrated in fig. 6, when the user is seated on the seat surface 11 and whether his back rests or not against the backrest, he is free to lift the legrest so that its two panels 16a, 16b determine between them an obtuse angle to support his legs when they are slightly bent. Bringing the legrest to this position causes the cut sides 16e to move relative to the corners 7a of the cross-member 7, so that a stop 16f bears against the corners 7a. Again, the side faces of the end panel 16b of the leg rest 16 have cut sides 16 9 which cooperate with the oblique faces of the corners 7a (fig. 9). It can be seen that the stop 16f is also a transverse rib with a height greater than that of the rib 16d previously described.

It is easily understood that the change of position of the legrest 16 is carried out without the user having to get off the relaxation chair and that this change of position is effected by actions without effort on the panel 16a due to the cooperation of the cut sides 16e with respect to the oblique faces of the corners 7a.

As illustrated in fig. 2, it is possible to stack on each other relaxation chairs according to the invention with their articulated elements brought back into abutment against the frame because the feet 8 and 9 are offset to the outside, that they have a divergent shape upwards and they are open in lateral lateral direction. The legs of the chairs engage each other to obtain a stack of chairs.

2, par exemple du genre de celles décrites dans le document FR 85 10118.It is also possible to associate the feet 8 of the chairs with removable wheels 21 illustrated in broken lines in FIG. 2, for example of the kind described in document FR 85 10118.
