Abstract

A dry shaver comprises a basic unit housing together with a shaver head having a longitudinally extending upper blade and a reciprocatorily drivable longitudinally extending lower blade acting in conjunction therewith. A swinging bridge is secured in the basic unit housing and has a reciprocatory output part for driving the lower blade and a stationary base part provided with an aperture. An electric motor having an essentially-cylindrical housing has one end of the motor housing connected to the stationary base part of the swinging bridge, the drive shaft of the motor extending through the aperture in the base part into the output part of the swinging bridge. An eccentric on the drive shaft drives the output part. A frame-like motor support has a transverse U-shape, one end of such support being connected to the stationary base part of the swinging bridge. The support has two longitudinal sections parallel to the motor drive shaft and partially enclosing the motor housing to form motor bearing surfaces, and a transverse section at its other end to support the other end of the motor housing. Two spring-action tongues are connected to the stationary base part of the swinging bridge respectively adjacent the opposite ends of the shaver head. Two catches are respectively provided at the free ends of the tongues for securing the shaver head. Two shaver-head bearing surfaces are provided on the stationary base part of the swinging bridge respectively adjacent the tongues, the catches pressing the shaver head against such latter bearing surfaces. The swinging bridge, the motor support, the tongues, and the shaver-head bearing surfaces are formed from a plastic as a single-piece component.

Description

The invention relates to a dry shaving apparatus with a shaving head which can be placed on a basic device and has a longitudinal and transverse extension, which is held in place with two opposite detents, each of which interacts with the transverse walls of the shaving head and can be released against a spring action, and which carries at least one upper knife with which a reciprocating in the longitudinal extension of the shaving head interacting lower knife, which is driven by the output-side part of a swing bridge arranged in the basic device, which in turn is driven by an eccentric from the drive shaft of an essentially cylindrical motor housing having an electric motor, which with the motor housing from of the swing bridge is groundbreakingly connected to a stationary base part thereof, its drive shaft being passed through an opening provided in the base part to the driven part of the swing bridge. In such a dry shaving apparatus known from DE-B-2 749 936, a tab which runs transversely to its drive shaft and is supported with its free ends on the base part of the swing bridge is attached to connect the electric motor to the swing bridge on the end of the electric motor facing the drive shaft Both sides of the drive shaft of the electric motor each have a U-shaped bulge through which screws are passed, which also penetrate the base part of the swing bridge, whereby the electric motor is held in the manner of a clamp connection on the base part of the swing bridge. Furthermore, in this known device, the shaving head is held on the basic device with two locking bolts which can be adjusted against the action of one spring each. Such a dry shaver is relatively complex because it has a relatively large number of individual parts, which means that its assembly is also not easy and is therefore relatively time-consuming.

The invention has set itself the goal of designing a dry shaver of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that it has as few individual parts as possible and its assembly is as simple as possible so that it can also be carried out fully mechanized if necessary. According to the invention, it is provided that a U-shaped frame-like support is connected to the base part of the swing bridge, the longitudinal webs of which run parallel to the drive shaft of the electric motor and project from the swing bridge pointing away from the base part of the same, that the electric motor is inserted in this support, the motor housing is supported on the base part with the end facing the drive shaft and on the crossbar of the carrier with the end facing away from the drive shaft and is partially circumferentially encompassed by the two longitudinal webs of the carrier to form engine supports that the two catches for holding the shaving head in the region of the free ends of two resiliently pivotable tongues are provided, that the tongues are connected to the base part of the swing bridge, that at least a support is provided for the shaving head on the base part of the swing bridge, against which it is held by the two notches, and that the shear wing bridge, the carrier, the tongues and the shaving head support is made as a one-piece part from plastic. In this way, a very simple construction is obtained, since no separate parts are necessary both for holding and positioning the electric motor and for holding the shaving head, which also makes assembly very simple. Furthermore, such a single component that fulfills all these functions and includes the oscillating bridge is very simple to produce from plastic in only one work step. It should be mentioned at this point that from AT-B-353 141 a dry shaver is known in which an oscillating armature motor and a shaving head are combined into one structural unit by means of a plate. The shaving head is held on the plate that forms a support for it with two opposing detents that can be released against a spring action, which are designed as hooks in the area of the free ends of two resiliently pivotable tongues, which in turn are connected to the plate and to one form an integral part. Furthermore, the oscillating armature motor, which interacts directly with the lower blade of the shaving head, is fastened to the plate with screws. This dry shaving apparatus thus has no oscillating bridge, so that the plate only serves to hold the shaving head and fasten the oscillating armature motor, no precautions being taken to ensure that the oscillating armature motor can be connected to the plate without further fastening means. In contrast, in the present dry shaving apparatus according to the invention, a one-piece component is provided that fulfills a total of three functions, namely the mounting and positioning of the electric motor, the formation of the swing bridge and the mounting of the shaving head. As a result of these measures, the possible tolerances that occur between the individual components and which can be noticeable when assembling them are reduced to the extent that a perfect interaction of the electric motor, oscillating bridge and shaving head is ensured,

It has proven to be advantageous if the U-shaped frame-like support is supported with its side facing away from the electric motor on the housing of the basic device. In this way, the holder of the electric motor is particularly stable since the carrier itself is supported.

Furthermore, it has proven to be advantageous if the electric motor on its side facing away from the U-shaped frame-like carrier is loaded by at least one spring element which presses it towards the carrier. As a result, the holder of the electric motor is very well stabilized, particularly in the case of shock loads. Rubber springs, rubber strips, foam strips and the like, which can be attached to the housing of the basic device, for example, are suitable as spring elements.

With regard to the resiliently pivotable tongues, it should be noted that these, for example, as Whole elastic can be formed. It has proven to be very advantageous, however, if the tongues are rigid in themselves and are connected to the base part of the oscillating bridge by means of two coaxial cantilevered torsion springs which laterally project from the end facing away from the latching free end. Such a division into resilient areas and rigid areas of the tongues means that on the one hand they can be pivoted well resiliently and on the other hand securely hold the shaving head on the base part of the swing bridge. The entire one-piece component can be made of a relatively high rigidity plastic material, so that it is stable as a whole and ensures proper mounting of the shaving head and the electric motor, the spring action for the catches being obtained by dimensioning the rods.

Furthermore, in a dry shaving apparatus in which the motor housing of the electric motor has an extension coaxial to the drive shaft of the electric motor at least on one of its two end faces, it has proven to be advantageous if, in the area of the support of the front end of the motor housing having an extension, the oscillating bridge, the carrier , the tongues and the shaving head bearing integral part is provided on the same a groove-shaped recess in which the shoulder provided on the front side of the motor housing engages appropriately. In this way, the mounting and positioning of the electric motor is particularly good and safe.

A shaving head 4 can be placed on this basic device 1, which carries an upper knife 6 on a shaving head frame 5, with which a lower knife 7 which can be driven back and forth in the longitudinal extension of the shaving head 4 cooperates. In the present exemplary embodiment, the upper knife 6 is designed as a curved screen shear film and the lower knife 7 as a lamellar knife. For example, the upper knife and the lower knife can also be designed in a known manner as co-operating comb knives. The basic device 1 includes an electric motor 10, which can be fed by accumulators 8 and 9, a swing bridge 11 and further individual parts, such as an on / off switch 12, which together with the two accumulators 8 and 9 and a charging circuit for the same, but not in more detail here designated electrical switching elements is arranged on a circuit board 13.

The oscillating bridge 11 constructed in the usual way has a stationary base part 14 which is held between the housing shells 2 and 3, for which purpose its border adapted to the interior of the housing and carrying a sealing ring 15 engages with the sealing ring 15 in corresponding grooves 16 on the housing shells 2 and 3 . The base part 14 is connected via film hinges 17 and 18 to the output side part 19 of the swing bridge 11, which in turn can be driven back and forth. This part 19 is driven by the drive shaft 20 of the electric motor 10 via an eccentric 21 placed on the drive shaft 20, the eccentric pin 22 of which engages in a slot 23 provided on the part 19. The electric motor 10, which has an essentially cylindrical motor housing, is connected to the base part 14 of the swing bridge 11 in such a way that its motor housing points away from the swing bridge 11, its drive shaft 20 through an opening 24 provided in the base part 14 to the output-side part 19 of the swing bridge 11 is passed through. The power transmission from the swing bridge 11 to the lower knife 7 takes place via a drive arm 25 provided on the output-side part 19 thereof, which engages in a fork-shaped extension 26 provided on the lower knife 7.

The shaving head 4 resting on the base part 14 of the swing bridge 11 provided with supports 27 and 28 is provided with two mutually opposite, each with the transverse walls 29 and 30 of the shaving head frame 5 of the shaving head 4, releasable against a spring action, at the free end of two tongues 31 and 32 provided detents 33 and 34 held. In the present exemplary embodiment, the catches 33 and 34 are formed by hook-shaped projections which engage in corresponding openings in the transverse walls 29 and 30 of the shaving head frame 5. In a kinematic reversal, it would also be possible for the catches provided on the free ends of the tongues 29 and 30 to be formed by openings into which hooks provided on the transverse walls 29 and 30 of the shaving head frame 5 engage. With regard to the design of the supports 27 and 28 for the shaving head 4, it should be noted that instead of the two strip-shaped supports 27 and 28 provided here, four individual supports could also be provided, or the base part 14 itself could also serve as a support for the shaving head 4, if the shaving head frame 5 of the same is designed to reach this base part 14.

Furthermore, it is now provided that the base part 14 of the swing bridge 11 is connected to a U-shaped frame-like support 35, the two longitudinal webs 36 and 37 of which run parallel to the drive shaft 20 of the electric motor 10 and project from the swing bridge 11 pointing away from the base part 14 thereof. The electric motor 10 is inserted into this carrier 35, its motor housing being supported on the base part 14 with the end face 38 facing the drive shaft 20 and on the transverse web 40 of the carrier 35 with the end face 39 facing away from the drive shaft 20 and by the two longitudinal webs 36 and 37 of the carrier 35 for forming motor mounts is partially partially circumferentially encompassed. These two motor supports can be clearly seen in particular in FIG. 2. In the present exemplary embodiment, the essentially cylindrical motor housing has two circular-arc-shaped circumferential sections 41 and 42 and two mutually opposite, segmentally offset flat side walls 43 and 44 which run in the direction of the drive shaft 20, as is common in such electric motors. Accordingly, the longitudinal web 36 for the partial circumferential encirclement of the motor housing has two adjoining sections 45 and 46, of which the section 45 is designed in a circular arc and the section 46 is flat, the motor housing with its circular arc-shaped peripheral section 42 being supported on the circular section 45 and with its side wall 43 abuts the flat section 46 of this longitudinal web 36. In the present exemplary embodiment, the other longitudinal web 37 of the carrier 35 is designed such that it only has an arcuate section 47 on which the motor housing is also supported with its circular arcuate section 42. If desired, this longitudinal web 37 could of course also have an additional flat section against which the side wall 44 of the motor housing could then rest. Of course, the provision of such flat sections on the longitudinal webs 36 and 37 is not absolutely necessary, but in the case of a motor housing which has side walls 43 and 44, it offers the advantage of a torsion-proof mounting of the electric motor 10. In this way, it forms the base part 14 of the oscillating bridge 11 connected U-shaped frame-like carrier 35 a secure holder for the electric motor 10, which positions it perfectly in its position in relation to the swing bridge 11.

The tongues 31 and 32 carrying the detents 33 and 34 and the shaving head supports 27 and 28 are also connected to the base part 14 of the swing bridge 11. Thus, the swing bridge 11 together with the carrier 35, the tongues 31 and 32 and the shaving head supports 27 and 28 form an integral part which can be produced very easily from plastic. This one-piece part thus fulfills several functions, namely the mounting of the electric motor 10, the releasable mounting of the shaving head 4 and the formation of a swing bridge 11 for converting the rotating drive movement of the electric motor 10 into a reciprocating drive movement for the lower knife 7 of the shaving head 4. In this way, a very simple structure of the dry shaving apparatus is obtained, since no separate parts are necessary both for holding and positioning the electric motor 10 and for releasably holding the shaving head 4, which also makes the assembly of the dry shaving apparatus very simple. On the basis of these measures, the possible tolerances which occur between the individual components and which can be disruptive when assembling the same are reduced to such an extent that a perfect interaction of the electric motor 10, oscillating bridge 11 and shaving head 4 is ensured.

As can be seen from FIG. 2, the carrier 35 formed by the two longitudinal webs 36 and 37 and the transverse web 40 is designed such that its side facing away from the electric motor 10 is supported on the housing, here the housing shell 2, of the basic device 1. In this way, the holder of the electric motor 10 is particularly stable since the carrier 35 itself is supported. A mutually corresponding profiling, as can be seen in FIG. 2, on the one hand the housing shell 2 and on the other hand the two longitudinal webs 36 and 37 and the transverse web 40 also secure the position of the carrier 35. Furthermore, as also shown in FIG. 2, the electric motor 10 is loaded on its side facing away from the carrier 35 by two spring elements 48 and 49 which press it towards the carrier 35. In the present case, these two spring elements 48 and 49 are formed by rubber strips which are supported on the housing, here the housing shell 3, of the basic device 1. The two rubber strips are combined by two webs, of which a web 50 is visible in FIG. 2, to form a frame which can be easily placed on the electric motor 10 when the dry shaving apparatus is being installed. Of course, it would also be possible to attach the two rubber strips to the housing shell 3. In this way, the mounting of the electric motor is very well stabilized with the two spring elements 48 and 49, particularly in the case of shock loads. In the present case, the two rubber strips also form a spacing of the two accumulators 8 and 9 from the electric motor 10. Of course, other designs for such spring elements would also be possible, such as, for example, rubber buffers or foam strips and the like.

In the present exemplary embodiment, the motor housing of the electric motor 10 has on each of its two end faces 38 and 39 a shoulder 51 and 52 which is coaxial with the drive shaft 20 of the electric motor 10. These approaches 51 and 52 can also be used to hold and position the electric motor 10. Accordingly, the opening 24 provided in the base part 14, through which the drive shaft 20 of the electric motor 10 is guided to the output-side part 19 of the swing bridge 11, is designed as a trough-shaped recess into which the shoulder 51 engages appropriately and is diametrically embraced in the present case. In an analogous manner, the other attachment 52 engages in a groove-shaped recess 53 provided on the crosspiece 40 of the carrier 35, as can be seen in particular from FIG. 2. In this way, a particularly good and secure mounting and positioning of the electric motor 10 is achieved.

In the present exemplary embodiment, the tongues 31 and 32 having the detents 33 and 34 are designed to be resilient in themselves by the choice of their cross-sectional dimensions in order to releasably hold the shaving head 4 on the base part 14 of the swing bridge 11. In contrast, in the exemplary embodiment shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, it is provided that the tongues, of which FIG. 3 shows a tongue 31, are inherently rigid and have two coaxial, laterally facing away from the free end having the catch End projecting, torsion springs forming rods, here the rods 54 and 55, are connected to the base part 14 of the swing bridge 11 1. Such a division into resilient areas formed by the rods 54 and 55 and rigid areas formed by the tongues ensures that the tongues together with the catches can be pivoted well resiliently on the one hand and on the other hand hold the shaving head 4 securely on the base part 14 of the swing bridge 11 . The entire, the swing bridge, the support, the tongues with the catches and the shaving head supports, one-piece component can be made of a relatively high rigidity plastic material, so that it is stable as a whole and a perfect mounting of the shaving head 4 and the Electric motor 10 ensures, then the spring action for the notches provided on the tongues is obtained by dimensioning the rods 54 and 55.

As can be seen from the above, there are a number of modifications of the exemplary embodiments described, without thereby leaving the scope of the invention. This applies in particular with regard to the design of the oscillating bridge itself and the additional parts additionally connected to its base part, namely the support for the mounting and positioning of the electric motor and the supports serving to hold the shaving head and the tongues which can be pivoted counter to the action of the spring.
