Bei der Renovierung von Wohnungen mit Türelementen, die z. B. aus einem Holztürblatt mit einer Stahlzarge bestehen, ist es bekannt, die Stahlzarge im Baukörper zu belassen und mit einer Holzzarge zu ummanteln. Eine bekannte Art dieser Ummantelungszargen (vgl. DE-OS 25 39 358) ähnelt den Holzzargen für den Erstausbau. Hierdurch entsteht eine starke Reduzierung des lichten Durchgangsmaßes der Tür. Darüberhinaus müssen spezielle Deckleisten zur vollen Abdeckung der Stahlzarge angebracht werden. Bei einer anderen bekannten Art von Ummantelungszargen ist der Falzbekleidungswinkel mit der Futterbretteinheit fest vormontiert, so daß eine Unterfütterung zwischen dem Falzbekleidungswinkel und der Stahlzarge in ihrer Dimension nur schwer zu ermitteln ist.
