Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for strapping a packaged product with a strapping band, the band being removed from a band supply by a drive and then loosely wrapped around the packaged product until the end of the band is picked up and held in a connecting station, whereupon the band is pulled back and pretensioned and the tape end and the tape are connected in the prestressed state in the connection station.
- Various methods and machines are known for strapping packaged goods with one or more strapping tapes. This is to stretch the strapping around the packaged goods, connect the end of the strap to the strap, and separate the strap from the strap stock.
- it is known to allow the strapping process to take place without manual intervention (BE 20 624 ... application 1247/84 ).
- the packaged goods are placed on a base provided with a yoke, in which a strap-pushing device is installed, with which the strapping band is pushed through the yoke, in which case the packaged goods are bypassed in a large loop until the strap end reaches a connecting station and there is held.
- the strap pushing device is then switched to strap retraction, the strapping being placed around the packaged goods, tensioned and connected to the strap end and separated from the strap supply.
- the tape feed at high speed into the yoke-shaped tape channel is not a particular problem and is relatively easy to achieve.
- the tape can only be retracted so quickly that no tension peaks occur when the strap driving the tape is switched off that could either tear the strapping or damage the packaged goods. This means that the tape must be retracted at a lower speed, but this has an adverse effect on the strapping performance.
- the invention comes in, which is based on the object of designing a method of the type described at the outset in such a way that the tape retraction takes place at high speed and tension peaks in the strapping tape are nevertheless avoided when the belt slide drive is switched off.
- This object is achieved according to the invention in that the retraction of the strapping is carried out in two sections, of which first one section until the strapping lies loosely against the packaged goods at a first, greater speed and then the further section until the tensioning Band is carried out to the desired tension at a second smaller speed, being for the transition from the a tape transport interruption is formed first in the second speed.
- the invention also includes a machine for carrying out the method according to the invention, with which the method can be carried out optimally.
- a secondary belt drive is arranged between the main belt drive and the connection station, which has a higher belt speed than the belt speed of the main belt drive during the belt retraction until the strapping band lies loosely against the packaged goods.
- the machine shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 shows two phases of an automatic strapping of a packaged product with one Strapping.
- the machine has a base with a yoke-shaped band channel 2 arranged thereon.
- a container 4 for receiving a supply of a strapping.
- the strapping 5 can be introduced into the container 4 with a strap feed 6.
- the strapping 5 can be pushed back and forth by a reversible belt slide drive 7.
- the belt slide drive 7 has a main belt drive 11 designed as a force-fitting pair of rollers and a secondary belt drive 12 designed as a pair of rollers.
- the main belt drive 11 and the secondary belt drive 12 are jointly operated by a motor, e.g. an electric motor 13, as will be shown in more detail with reference to FIG. 3.
- Fig. 2 the strapping machine is shown when strapping the packaged goods 8.
- the band slide drive 7 is reversed to retract the band.
- the strapping band is now returned to the container 4, the band detaching from the band channel 2 and wrapping lightly around the packaged goods 8, as can be seen in FIG. 2.
- the strapping process should also be carried out at the highest possible speed.
- the tape advance in Bardkanal 2 is carried out at high speed.
- the main tape drive When the end of the tape arrives in the connecting station 10, the main tape drive is uncoupled. Depending on the size of the moving masses of the main belt drive 11, it runs somewhat further after uncoupling and can form a loose belt loop 14. Since the moving masses are relatively small, the band loop 14 is also relatively small.
- the main belt drive 11 After uncoupling the main belt drive 11, it is reversed for the belt retraction. The retreat is carried out at great speed.
- the main belt drive 11 also drives the secondary belt drive 12, namely its pair of rollers is driven at a greater speed than the pair of rollers of the main belt drive 11. As a result, less belt length is returned to the container 4 than is supplied by the secondary belt drive 12.
- a collecting magazine 16 is provided in the interior 3 of the base 1 for receiving the tape reserve. If, for any reason, the band reserve 15 would fill up the collecting magazine, a fill level indicator 17 is provided, which provides a signal for switching off the machine.
- the formation of the band reserve 15 continues until the strapping band 5 easily wraps around the packaged goods 8. Then the main belt drive 11 is switched to a second, lower belt retraction speed.
- the tape reserve 15 is first used up at this speed, ie the tape reserve 15 is pushed back into the container 4. As soon as the band reserve 15 is used up, the strapping band wrapped around the packaged goods 8 withdrawn and stretched as far as this corresponds to the setting of an electromagnetic clutch, which is arranged in the drive branch for the second lower speed.
- FIG. 3 the belt slide drive of the machine shown in Figs. 1 and 2 is shown schematically.
- the main belt drive and the secondary belt drive are designated by the reference numerals 11 and 12 as in FIGS. 1 and 2.
- the two drives 11, 12 and the associated drive parts are mounted in a wall 18 of the base 1.
- the connection station 10 is also fastened in this wall, with which the end of the strapping process connects the end of the band to the band, in some cases welds it, and the band from the band supply is separated.
- the motor 13 drives via an enveloping drive 19 which consists of two wheels 20, 21 and an enveloping member 22, e.g. a toothed belt, there is a distribution shaft 25 which drives a first clutch shaft 27 via a further cladding drive 26 and a main clutch shaft 30 via a gear transmission 28.
- a second clutch shaft 29 is driven by the first clutch shaft 27 via a gear train 31 with a gear ratio of 1: 1.
- Each clutch shaft 27, 29 has an electromagnetic clutch 32, 34, with which the clutch shafts 27 or 29 can be coupled to the cladding drive 26.
- the coupling shafts 27, 29 drive a pinion 36 in opposite directions of rotation via a gear 35, on which a roller 40 of a pair of rollers 40, 41 (see FIGS.
- the roller 40 is a wheel of an enveloping drive 37, the enveloping member 38 of which drives a wheel 39 on the main coupling shaft 30.
- the roller 41 is an adjustable, e.g. eccentric roller with which the tension of the enveloping member 38 is adjusted.
- the strapping 5 is, see FIGS. 1 and 2, non-positively guided over the pair of rollers 40, 41, wherein it lies on the roller 40 on the sleeve member 38 and is pressed on the roller 41 by the sleeve member 38 onto the circumference of the roller 41.

- the wheel 39 of the enveloping drive 37 is connected to a wheel 43 of an enveloping drive 42, the further wheel 44 of which is connected to a roller 50 of a further pair of rollers 50, 51 of the auxiliary belt drive 12.
- the non-driven roller 51 of the auxiliary belt drive 12 is in an eccentric sleeve 50 rotatably mounted in such a way that the two rollers 50, 51 can form clamping rollers for the intermediate strapping 5 via the tape retraction, but not during the tape advance.
- An electromagnetic main clutch 52 is mounted on the main clutch shaft 30, the armature 53 of which is slidably mounted on a pinion 54 connected to the wheel 39 of the enveloping drive 37.
- the tape placed around the packaged goods 8 is free of tension and stands still.
- the auxiliary belt drive 12 is set in such a way that it runs in this standstill phase but does not exert any force on the belt.
- the tape reserve 15 is used up, the tape is brought up to the voltage set on the main coupling 52 and the connection station 10 is activated.
- the switching of the main clutch 52 and the clutches 27, 29 thus takes place in a standstill phase in which the belt is not additionally stressed. Even if the time interval for switching the clutches 27, 29, 52 is very short, the distance traveled by the belt is approximately 0.5 m at the first, greater speed of about 5 m / s used. If the tape reserve 15 were missing, considerable additional stresses of the tape with the known disadvantages could occur during the switching time.

Abstract
The belt slide drive of a machine for automatic strapping of a packaged product (8) with a strapping band (5) has a main belt drive (11) and a secondary belt drive (12). When the tape is being fed, the strapping (5) is guided by the main belt drive (11) at a first, higher speed into a belt channel (2) for wrapping the packaged goods (9) until it enters a connecting station (10), whereupon the system switches to tape retraction. which takes place at the same higher speed. The auxiliary belt drive (12) is driven at a higher speed than the main belt drive (11), whereby a belt reserve (15) is formed between the two belt drives (11, 12). If the strapping (5) lies loosely on the packaged goods, the switchover takes place to a second, lower speed at which the strap reserve (15) is withdrawn, whereupon the strapping (8) is tensioned with the tensioning force set on the main strap drive (11) and then in the connecting station (10) band (5) and band end are connected to one another and the band is separated from the band supply. The period created when the band reserve (15) is withdrawn enables the couplings in the band-slide drive to be switched over to the second, lower speed without damaging the strapping band (5) or the packaged goods (8) by excessive stress.
Description
The invention relates to a method for strapping a packaged product with a strapping band, the band being removed from a band supply by a drive and then loosely wrapped around the packaged product until the end of the band is picked up and held in a connecting station, whereupon the band is pulled back and pretensioned and the tape end and the tape are connected in the prestressed state in the connection station.
Various methods and machines are known for strapping packaged goods with one or more strapping tapes. This is to stretch the strapping around the packaged goods, connect the end of the strap to the strap, and separate the strap from the strap stock. For machines for strapping packaged goods of larger dimensions, it is known to allow the strapping process to take place without manual intervention (BE 20 624 ... application 1247/84 ...). In this embodiment, the packaged goods are placed on a base provided with a yoke, in which a strap-pushing device is installed, with which the strapping band is pushed through the yoke, in which case the packaged goods are bypassed in a large loop until the strap end reaches a connecting station and there is held. The The strap pushing device is then switched to strap retraction, the strapping being placed around the packaged goods, tensioned and connected to the strap end and separated from the strap supply.
In order to achieve a high strapping performance with such strapping machines, the highest possible strap speeds are used. Here, the tape feed at high speed into the yoke-shaped tape channel is not a particular problem and is relatively easy to achieve. However, if the tape is to be retracted and the strapping folded onto the package quickly and with a clamping force in which the packaged goods are spared and yet sufficiently tensioned, the tape can only be retracted so quickly that no tension peaks occur when the strap driving the tape is switched off that could either tear the strapping or damage the packaged goods. This means that the tape must be retracted at a lower speed, but this has an adverse effect on the strapping performance.
This is where the invention comes in, which is based on the object of designing a method of the type described at the outset in such a way that the tape retraction takes place at high speed and tension peaks in the strapping tape are nevertheless avoided when the belt slide drive is switched off. This object is achieved according to the invention in that the retraction of the strapping is carried out in two sections, of which first one section until the strapping lies loosely against the packaged goods at a first, greater speed and then the further section until the tensioning Band is carried out to the desired tension at a second smaller speed, being for the transition from the a tape transport interruption is formed first in the second speed.
The invention also includes a machine for carrying out the method according to the invention, with which the method can be carried out optimally. This object is achieved according to the invention in that a secondary belt drive is arranged between the main belt drive and the connection station, which has a higher belt speed than the belt speed of the main belt drive during the belt retraction until the strapping band lies loosely against the packaged goods.

The machine shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 shows two phases of an automatic strapping of a packaged product with one Strapping. The machine has a base with a yoke-
The strapping 5 can be pushed back and forth by a reversible belt slide drive 7. During the tape advance, the tape is guided in guides (not shown) of the
In Fig. 2, the strapping machine is shown when strapping the packaged
After uncoupling the
The formation of the
As long as the
In Fig. 3, the belt slide drive of the machine shown in Figs. 1 and 2 is shown schematically. The
The strapping 5 is, see FIGS. 1 and 2, non-positively guided over the pair of

motor 13 drives the pair ofrollers 40, 41 of themain belt drive 11 via the enveloping drives 19, 26 and one of the two 27, 29, which are switched accordingly by thecoupling shafts 32, 34, while theclutches secondary belt drive 12 runs somewhat faster. However, since there is no non-positive connection on theauxiliary belt drive 12 during the belt advance, only a small insignificant friction occurs on the leading belt due to the 50, 51. The strapping 5 is introduced into therollers belt channel 2 at the first greater speed. As soon as the end of the tape arrives in the connectingstation 10, themain drive 11 is reversed by switching one of the 27, 29. The tape is now retracted at the first higher speed until the strapping 5 easily wraps around the packagedclutches goods 8. During this time, thesecondary belt drive 12 is driven via the enveloping drives 37, 45 at a somewhat greater speed than the speed of the pair ofrollers 40, 41, as a result of which thebelt reserve 15 mentioned is now formed. As soon as the strappingband 5 wraps around the packagedgoods 8, its speed at thesecondary band member 12 becomes smaller, which is determined by asensor 58 which now guides the switching of themain clutch 5 Cip, at the same time also the switched on Coupling of the two 27, 29 is released. Theclutches motor 13 now drives thegear 39 via thegear train 28, whereby the pair ofrollers 40, 41 of themain belt drive 12 is driven at the second, lower speed. The tape reserve is now used up by withdrawing the tape and then the strapping is tightened around the packagedgoods 8 in accordance with the tensioning force set on themain coupling 52. Asecond sensor 59 detects the speed reduction when the set tensioning force is reached and thereby activates the connectingstation 10, which now ends the strapping process by connecting the end of the strap and the strap and severing the strap supply.
During the withdrawal of the
The switching of the main clutch 52 and the
In Fig. 3, the bearing for supporting the rotating parts are not specifically referred to, but they are consistently represented by r l it diagonals provided rectangles.
