Abstract

The lighting fixture has a reflector with asymmetrical light distribution which surrounds a rod-shaped lamp (2). The reflector is formed by a fixed collecting reflector (3) encircling the lamp (2) in a semicircle, and an obliquely-radiating deflection mirror (4). The latter, in turn, can be pivoted about an axis (4a) extending in the longitudinal direction of the lighting fixture. The lighting fixture is preferably provided for being mounted on horizontal surfaces and is used for illuminating vertical surfaces. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to an elongated lamp with a built-in, asymmetrical . Mirror optics with light distribution for a rod-shaped lamp, preferably for attachment to horizontal planes for illuminating vertical surfaces.

Derartige Leuchten sind als sogen. Wandfluter bekannt. Such lights are so-called. Wall washer known. They have an extremely asymmetrical light distribution for the uniform illumination of vertical surfaces such as walls, shelves, sales counters. The luminaires must be mounted at a certain distance from the vertical surface in order to achieve uniform illumination. This optimal installation distance is set at a ratio of 1: 3 to the suspension height or wall height. Due to structural conditions or subsequent changes, this requirement can practically often not be met and therefore no ideal lighting conditions are achieved.

The invention has for its object to improve a lamp of the type described above so that the luminous intensity index of each individual lamp can be optimally adapted to different suspension heights and mounting distances.

The solution to this problem arises from the characterizing features of claim 1. Thus, different lighting tasks and types of installation can be realized in an advantageous manner with only one type of light. Further developments and refinements of the invention are specified in the subclaims.

The invention is explained in more detail below with the aid of the drawing.

The lamp shown schematically in cross section in the single figure has an elongated box-shaped housing 1, on the one long side 1 a of which a fluorescent lamp 2 is preferably arranged. This is surrounded by a semicircular secondary mirror 3, which is followed by an approximately parabolically curved deflecting mirror 4 above a light exit opening 5 of the lamp. The deflection mirror 4 is pivotally mounted on the longitudinal side 1b of the housing facing away from the lamp and, with its pivot axis 4a, also forms the boundary of the light exit opening on this side. On the opposite side, the light exit opening is limited by a bend 3a of the secondary mirror. This also prevents a direct view of the fluorescent lamp from below to the level indicated by an arrow 6.

The deflecting mirror 4 engages with its free edge 4b above the fluorescent lamp 2 under the secondary mirror 3. This ensures that no greater luminous flux losses occur when the deflecting mirror is pivoted into the position 4 'indicated in dashed lines. The pivoting range of the deflecting mirror, which can be ascertained within this range by means not shown, comprises an angle of approximately 15 °. The luminous intensity distribution body of the luminaire can thus be changed such that the light emerging from the light exit opening approximately in the direction of arrow 5a optimally fulfills the respective lighting task.
