Description

US-PS 1 608 418, GB-PS 162 691, US-PS 1 627 446).It is known to use smectite clay minerals, in particular bentonites, as additives to cleaning agents such as soap and detergents, since these clay minerals have a high affinity for lubricating particles and fabric softening properties (see, for example, US Pat. No. 1 608 418, GB PS 162 691, U.S. Patent 1,627,446).

However, the adsorption capacity of these smectic clay minerals for dirt particles is relatively low, so that e.g. Bentonite soaps were only used in times of war or post-war, when soaps were scarce due to insufficient fat.

The fabric softening properties of the smectite clay minerals were attributed to the fact that they were partially adsorbed on the fabric fiber. As a result of this property, an increased tendency to graying of the washed fibers was observed, i.e. there was an increased incrustation of the tissue, as was found in the ashing of tissue washed several times.

The object of the invention is to provide a detergent additive containing smectitic clay minerals, in which the adsorption capacity of the smectitic clay minerals for contaminants, the dirt-carrying capacity of the wash liquor and the fabric-softening properties are improved, while on the other hand those due to the deposition of the smectitic clay minerals on the Tissue fiber-related increased incrustation is reduced.

  • (a) 1 - 80 Gew.-% eines oder mehrerer smectitis Hes 508 Tonminerale aus der Gruppe Montmorillonit, Beidellit, Hectorit, Nontronit und der synthetischen Tonminerale;

    worin die Symbole folgende Bedeutungen haben:
    • R1 und R2, die gleich oder voneinander verschieden sein können bedeuten substituierte oder unsubstituierte Alkylgruppen mit 10 bis 22 Kohlenstoffatomen, Aralkylgruppen mit 1 bis 20 Kohlenstoffatomen im Alkylrest, Arylgruppen oder substituierte Phenolgruppen;
    • R3 und R4, die gleich oder voneinander verschieden sein können, bedeuten Alkylgruppen mit 1 bis 3 Kohlenstoffatomen;
    • Xe bedeutet ein Säureanion;

    worin R5 und R6' die gleich oder voneinander verschieden sein können, substituierte oder unsubstituierte Alkylgruppen mit jeweils 10 bis 22 Kohlenstoffatomen bedeuten und der Durchschnittswert für n zwischen > 1 und 10 liegt, enthält.
The invention thus relates to a detergent additive, which is characterized in that it
  • (a) of 1 - 80 wt .-% of one or more smectitis Hes 508 clay minerals from the group of montmorillonite, beidellite, hectorite, nontronite, and the synthetic clay minerals;

    wherein R 5 and R 6 ', which may be the same or different, represent substituted or unsubstituted alkyl groups each having 10 to 22 carbon atoms and the average value for n is between> 1 and 10.

Surprisingly, it was found that the detergent additive according to the invention not only does not increase the incrustation, but on the contrary leads to a lower incrustation of tissues which have been washed in detergent lye with the detergent additive according to the invention. Presumably, the detergent additive or a component thereof is adsorbed on the fiber during the washing process, as a result of which the deposit of inorganic, but also of organic substances, which is possible above all at a high temperature, is greatly reduced.

Furthermore, the detergent additive according to the invention improves the adsorption capacity of the smectitic clay minerals for contaminants and the dirt-carrying capacity of the wash liquor. Furthermore, the detergent additive according to the invention gives the washed fabric a soft feel and improved antistatic properties. Finally, the perfume smell remains on the laundry washed with the detergent additive.

Preferred embodiments of the invention are specified in the subclaims.

The invention further provides the use of the detergent additive of the invention in detergents which, as further constituents surfactants, inorganic and / or organic structure-forming builders and optionally alkali metal carbonates, alkali metal or E rdalkalisilicate and / or bleach.

Other constituents of the detergents can be brighteners, corrosion and foam inhibitors, enzymes, stabilizers, perfume oils and dyes as well as all other usual detergent constituents.

The detergent additive specified in the example was mixed with the following detergent ingredients:
Figure imgb0004
This detergent composition was compared in a series washing test in a washing machine with an analog detergent composition, but without the detergent additive. The conditions were as follows:
  • Detergent composition with additive: 3.25 g / liter
  • Detergent composition without additives: 2.54 g / liter
  • Device: Linitest, Heraeus
  • Container volume: 500 ml
  • Filling ratio: 21 g test fabric load per container volume (500 ml)
  • Fleet ratio: 21 g test fabric load per 200 ml liquor
  • Temperature: 60 ° C
  • Water hardness: 17 ° dH = 3.02 mmol Ca +2 / liter, plus 1.2 mmol Ca +2 / liter (hardened by washing), ie total hardness: 4.22 mmol Ca liter
  • Washing time: 30 minutes
  • Rinsing procedure: a controlled bath (100 ml water over 5 minutes), then in the tap water
  • Washing machine: 30 balls additive
  • Number of washes: 9
  • Test fabric: Test fabric with standard soiling (laundry research Krefeld and Eidgen. Material testing institute St. Gallen) 6 g; Cotton test fabric, not soiled 7.5 g; Cotton-polyester test fabric; not soiled, 7.5 g.

The dirt reduction position was measured on test fabrics which had been washed in the Linitest device and were not soiled, and was stated as the difference between the whiteness values (R values on the Elrepho) of the fabrics not washed and the fabrics washed nine times. The greater the difference in the R values ( Ä R), the more the test fabrics are grayed out, ie the less favorable the washing result.

These values result in a significant improvement in dirt-carrying capacity. The dirt is adsorbed on the detergent additive and thus remains dispersed in the wash liquor. The difference in whiteness is calculated from the above values at 5.42.

Inkrustation:

Figure imgb0005
Incrustation:
Figure imgb0005
It can be seen from these results that the ash values of the fabrics washed with the detergent additive are lower than those of the fabrics washed without the detergent additive.

The same effect can be seen in the hot wash. The detergent additive accordingly inhibits tissue incrustation, which is a surprising effect. It is believed that this effect is due to the fact that the tissue has been modified by the detergent additive, so that the crystal nuclei, on which the incrustations (in particular lime) are generally formed, are no longer available.

Gewebeweichheit:

Fabric softness:
  • The cotton terry toweling washed in an experiment carried out in an identical manner showed a significantly softer feel when washed with the detergent additive according to the invention than when this additive was dispensed with.

Perfume retention effect:
  • The test fabrics washed with the detergent additive retain the original perfume smell originating from the detergent significantly better than if they were washed in detergent solution without the detergent additive.

VergleichsbeispielComparative example

Der Waschmittelzusatz enthielt 375 Gewichtsteile Bentonit (Bestandteil a) und 155 Gewichtsteile Distearyldimethylammoniumchlorid (Bestandteil b).The detergent composition used in the above application example was mixed with a detergent additive which, however, contained 213 parts by weight of distearylmethylamine instead of the distearyl- (CH 2 CH 2 0) n H-amine (component c). The detergent additive contained 375 parts by weight of bentonite (component a) and 155 parts by weight of distearyldimethylammonium chloride (component b).

Der R-Wert betrug -30,8.This detergent composition was tested in the same manner as in the application example at a washing temperature of 60 ° C. on cotton fabrics (washed 9 ×). The R value was -30.8.

The speaking position was therefore higher than in the exemplary embodiment with the detergent additive according to the invention.

The fabric softness of a cotton terry fabric washed with was worse than that of the terry fabric treated according to the application example.
