Abstract

A wood cutting machine having a knife-like blade for cutting and chipping wood into large pieces. The blade is oriented at an angle to the direction of wood grain thereby lowering the force required to cut the wood.

Description

The invention relates to a wooden beam shredding machine, in which a knife with a cutting edge lying transversely to the wood fiber direction is arranged on an intermittently advancing carriage.

Such a wooden beam crushing machine is known for example from DE-A-3 324 122. The wooden beam crushing machine known from this publication is used in particular for crushing elongated pieces of wood, such as wooden beams or tree trunks. The clippings are cut into more or less large pieces across the grain. However, the shredding machine known from DE-A-3 324 122 has the disadvantage that its power requirement is very large and that the pieces of wood which are divided transversely are not split in the direction of the fibers.

The invention has for its object to provide a wooden beam shredding machine with considerably less power than the known machines, which also splits the divided pieces of wood in the fiber direction if necessary.

A solution to this problem according to the invention is characterized by its developments in the claims.

The invention is based on the basic idea of reducing the power requirement by means of an oscillating suspension of the slide. According to the invention, it has been known that a main reason for the large power requirement of the known machines is that the knife cannot perform any evasive movements when the hard pieces are stored. According to the invention, the sled is therefore suspended in its upper part. The angle of attack between the non-sharpened surface of the knife facing the incoming clippings and the bottom of a channel guiding the clippings is limited upwards by 50 to 80 ° by a first stop device located on the wood inlet side until the beginning of the cutting process. The angle of attack resulting during the cutting process itself under the influence of the cutting resistance and the oscillating suspension is limited downwards by a second stop device located below on the wood outlet side.

The second stop device can also be replaced according to claim 2 by an adjustable stop attached to the rear end of the clippings duct for the lower cross-sectional part of the clippings.

Advantageous values for the angle of attack are given in claim 3.

Because the knife first acts under the influence of gravity with a large angle of attack on the clippings and only then, namely after an automatic swiveling of the carriage under the influence of the cutting resistance, does the actual cutting process with a smaller angle of attack, a considerable saving in force occurs, which can be up to Can be 60%. For wood with strong knots, large angles of attack for hardwood are used within the ranges specified above.

To adapt to different wooden beams to be shredded, those stop devices that limit the angle of attack upwards or downwards are designed to be adjustable (claim 4).

In order to split particularly tough pieces of wood in the direction of the fibers, at least one splitting knife is arranged on the cutting knife in each case in a plane perpendicular to this and directed towards the material to be cut.

The knife is advantageously exchangeably fastened to the slide via a wedge piece which is beveled in the same direction (claim 6); the wedge angle of the knife is between 20 ° and 40 ° (claim 8) and that of the wedge piece is about 45 ° (claim 9). The wooden parts are exposed to such strong tensile stresses that they break open transversely to the grain, which promotes drying and handling during heating.

19).A preferably adjustable crank gear, possibly with a reduction gear, can be used to move the pendulum-suspended carriage provided with a cutting knife (claims 18 and 19, respectively).

A hydraulic cylinder / piston unit can also be used for this; the slide is then advantageously suspended from a sliding guide piece. Further, then the slide a rod to be fixed in parallel, each bearing a stop for the top or bottom dead center of the i Schl kill motion; on the slide guide piece a mechanically controllable hydraulic valve is attached, which is held by a spring in the selected position. During the lifting process of the slide together with the knife, the sliding guide piece pivots back to the first, ie upper, stop or adjusting device as soon as the knife has moved out of the clippings. During the lowering process, the knife first engages with a fairly large angle of attack a certain length before the end of the clippings and pushes them forward until the sliding guide piece strikes the second, ie lower, stop or adjusting device. From there, the cut is made with a smaller angle of attack.

The further the sliding guide piece, including the slide and knife, swings back, the thicker the cut pieces of wood become; this thickness can therefore be adjusted by means of these two adjusting devices; it gets smaller the thicker the clippings. If you want to achieve a uniform thickness of the pieces of wood, an adjustable stop for the lower cross section of the clippings is attached to the rear end of the clippings channel; the second, lower stop or actuating device may then become superfluous.

In order to improve the supply of clippings, the clippings channel can be constricted in a funnel shape in the transport direction. In order to be able to process several thin clippings alongside one another, the bottom of the clippings channel is recessed in a trough-shaped manner towards its cross-sectional center (claim 12); for further improvement, sloping plates are used, which cover the lower inner edges (claim 13) of the clippings duct. An unwanted pushing back of the clippings can be prevented by having pivots or sharp-edged flaps pivotably attached to the ceiling of the clippings duct, which penetrate somewhat into the clippings above; the bottom of the clippings channel can also be designed to drop in a stepped or sawtooth shape in the transport direction. Finally, support rollers can be attached to the bottom of the clippings channel at its rear end, on which the clippings are pushed by the knife before the cutting process begins.

The end of the lowering movement is designed to be adjustable in order to compensate for knife wear. The reversal of the carriage movement from lifting to lowering takes place when the lower end of the carriage has passed over the first, upper actuating device.

  • Figure 1 a in cross section along the broken line AA in Figure 1;
  • Figure 2 this machine with dead center control, again in longitudinal section; and
  • Figure 3 shows the wooden beam shredding machine with mechanical, namely crank gear drive, in longitudinal section.

According to FIGS. 1 and 1a, at the end of a transport channel (9) for the clippings (8), a sliding guide piece (6) for a carriage (5) is suspended in an oscillating manner, which has a cutting knife (1) with a wedge piece (2) transverse to the wood fiber direction lying cutting edge. This slide can be pushed forward intermittently by a hydraulic cylinder-piston unit (4).

In the raised state, the slide takes on a rather large angle of attack (ai) to the clippings channel under the influence of gravity by contacting the sliding guide piece with a first adjustable adjusting device (7) located on the wood inlet side, with which the knife engages at the top even when the clippings are lowered and then push it forward; under the influence of the cutting resistance, the slide then comes into contact with a second adjusting device (10) located below the first on the wood outlet side in a position with a substantially smaller angle of attack (a 2 ), with which the cut is made to the bottom of the channel, by contacting the sliding guide piece, whereupon the lifting movement begins. Another lowering movement begins as soon as the lower slide end has reached the first, upper stop or adjusting device (7).

Knife (1) and wedge piece (2) are bevelled in the same direction on the wood outlet side. A knife (3) is attached to the knife in a plane perpendicular to it and directed towards the clippings.

Der Keilwinkel des Keilstücks beträgt etwa 45°.The wedge angle of the wedge piece is approximately 45 °.

According to FIG. 2, a rod (16) is fastened in parallel to the slide (5) of such a shredding machine which is slidably arranged in the guide piece; it carries a stop (17, 18) for the top and bottom dead center of the slide movement. A valve (19) for the hydraulic cylinder / piston unit that is mechanically controllable by these stops is attached to the sliding guide piece and is held in the selected position A or B by a spring (20).

Der Keilwinkel (µ) des Keilstücks beträgt etwa 45°.On the inside of the transport channel (9), sharp-edged flaps (12) are pivotally attached, which prevent the cut material (8) from being pushed back. The bottom of this channel has support rollers (14) for the clippings (8) at its rear end. The wedge angle (µ) of the wedge piece is approximately 45 °.

The lifting movement of the carriage can be used to z. B. to introduce further clippings to the shredding machine by means of a ratchet. In the case of large trees, a foldable ramp (21) is expediently provided in front of the transport channel (9) and can be set up by means of a leg (22).

According to FIG. 3, a crank mechanism (24), which is driven via a reduction gear (25), is attached for moving the oscillating slide (5). Instead of a lower adjusting device (10), an adjustable stop (23) for the lower cross-sectional part of the cut material (8) is attached to the rear end of the transport channel (9), which ensures a uniform thickness of the cut wooden parts. The bottom of the transport channel has sawtooth-shaped steps (13) sloping in the transport direction, which promote the feed of the clippings (8).

In Fig. 3, the first stop device, which limits the angle of attack (a 1 ) upwards, is not shown.
