Abstract

A locking slider for a slide fastener is made entirely of plastics material and comprises a slider body with a springable locking means and a pull tab fastened at a bow of the slider body, the slider body being an integral unit consisting of a lower and an upper slider plate connected by a connecting separator. The upper slider plate comprises a V-shaped bearing for receiving a fastening eyelet at one end of a pull tab. The bow, extending over the bearing, is integrally formed with the locking means and is provided with a fastening pin, which is snapped into a hole in the connecting separator. The end of said bow provided with locking means is formed as elbow reaching around the free end of the upper slider plate and ending into an upwardly directed barb engaging an opening at the upper slider plate. The slider as well as the interlocking members of the slide fastener can be produced with the same material having a uniform color. The design of the slider with the integrally formed slider body and the integrally formed springable bow with locking means, allows for production with inexpensive moulds and for easy assembly of the parts.

Description

The present invention relates to a zipper slider made of plastic and a method for its production, with a slider body, the upper part of which has a V-shaped bearing for receiving one end of a pull tab with a fastening eyelet, the end pointing towards the bearing forms a transverse web which rests on the bearing, the pull tab in the bearing of the slider body being held by a bracket covering the bearing, which is integrally formed at one end with a resilient means for snapping into the zipper and via a fastening pin integrally connected to it in a bore of the slider body is anchored.

Such a zipper slider is known from FR-A-23 68 912, the slider body being made in two parts with the risk resulting from the use of plastic that when the same is stressed when opening or closing the body bends when connecting pin and in it Function is impaired. Furthermore, in order to unlock this previously known slide, the pull tab must be pulled, which, when using plastic, can lead to the bracket breaking if the bracket is too thin, while a bracket that is too strong does not spring enough.

From DE-A-2522925 a zipper slider is also known, which can be made of plastic, the focus of this application is the attachment of the pull tab. The solution described there also requires relatively complicated injection molds and complex process technology.

A zipper slider is known from the unpublished EP-A-0165 527, the slider body of which is made in one piece from plastic, but the bracket is pushed laterally into the connecting piece between the two slider parts and the pull tab is arranged freely in the bracket.

7 beschriebenen Reissverschlussschieber bzw. Verfahren zur Herstellung desselben gelöst.In contrast, it is an object of the present invention to offer an all-plastic zipper slider which has all the advantages associated therewith, in particular the possibility of producing all plastic parts from the same plastic with the same color, these parts retaining the same color even after prolonged use , but does not suffer from the shortcomings described above, which can be produced in particular with less expensive injection molds and is easy to assemble. This object is achieved with the zipper slider described in claims 1 and 7 and the method for producing the same.

The invention is described below with reference to a drawing of an embodiment.
  • FIG. 1 shows a zipper slider according to the invention in section,
  • Figure 2 shows the individual elements of the slide in side view, and
  • Figure 3 shows the slide elements from the injection mold.

In Figure 2 you can see the three elements from which the zipper slider 1 is made, the one-piece molded plastic body 2, the resilient bracket 3 and the pull tab 4. The slider body 2 consists of a lower slider part 5, which has a web 7 with the upper slide part 6 is connected. On the upper slide part 6, a V-shaped bearing 8 is arranged, which serves to receive one end of the pull tab 4, this end being designed as a fastening eyelet 23 with a crossbar 9, which comes to rest in the groove of the V-shaped bearing 8 .

The bracket 3 has at one end a fastening pin 10 which engages in a bore 11 in the web 7 of the slider body, with a notch 12 for better anchoring of the fastening pin, in which a corresponding bead 13 engages in the bore 11. The top of the bracket is drawn around the fastening pin, the angled leg 14 serving as reinforcement and as a support when the bracket is springed. The bracket reaches over the bearing 8 and completely encloses the pull tab, or its transverse web 9, as can be seen in particular in FIG. 1. The other end of the bracket is designed as an angle piece 15, the lower end of which has the latching means in the form of two teeth 16 and the inside has an upwardly directed barb 17 which engages in a corresponding opening 18 in the slide body and prevents the bracket at this end can be canceled. The two teeth 16 are arranged on both sides and offset with respect to one another with respect to the longitudinal axis in order to grip between two locking links of the locking chain and thus lock the slide. The crosspiece 9, which closes the fastening eye of the pull tab, is not arranged at the very end, so that two end pieces 19 are present, which rest on both sides of the V-shaped bearing 8 on the upper slide part 6. When the pull tab is turned in the direction of the arrow, the two ends 19 are supported on the upper slide part and the transverse web 9 engages the resilient bracket 3 from below, so that the latter is raised. Only the free moving end, i.e. the end with the elbow and the latching means is raised, so that when the pull tab is tilted with respect to the position shown or pivoted by 90 °, the latching means are no longer in engagement with the closure members and the slide can move freely.

In the case of a larger design, the center piece can be designed differently from the example described above and the latching means only have one tooth and the barb can be designed as a shoulder which engages behind a correspondingly designed shoulder on the upper slide body part.

Although the slides described above are preferably suitable for plastic zipper members, they can also be used for metal zipper members. Some changes to the slider are required for use with nylon R spiral zipper links. So the lower slide part is ge flat stalten and it, as in the other examples, the locking means can be guided through the upper slide part, the end of the bracket must have retaining means so that the bracket is not lifted.

In Figure 3 you can see a finished molded piece as it is removed from the injection mold. From this it can be seen that an equal number of the elements making up the slide are injection molded, which above all ensures that all components are made of identical material. From the drawing it can be seen that the material reaches from a main line 20 via a feed line 21 to the injection mold part for the two slide bodies and below via the feed line 22 to the tool part, in which two pull tabs on one side and two on the other side Brackets are arranged, with all parts being injected simultaneously. It can be seen from FIG. 3 that the pull tab has a fastening eyelet 23 which is closed with the crosspiece 9 and on the other side another opening 24 which makes it easier to grip the pull tab. It goes without saying that instead of two more components of the slide body can be sprayed or, in the case of small series, only one component each. The supply lines 25 to the individual components are, as can be clearly seen from FIG. 3, provided with constrictions on which the finished elements can be released very easily. Advantageously, the fastener links are injection molded from the same material, whereby the injection molding of the fastener links and the slide, as well as the cutting, the setting of the end links on the locking chain, and the insertion of the slide can be automated in such a way that the entire zipper can be produced on the assembly line .
