Description

The invention relates to a device for ejecting a stub sleeve ars incombustible part of a highly combustible propellant charge sleeve, from a closed combat area.

Stub sleeves are known for example from the applicant's US-A-4 159 678. Stub sleeves are part of a partially combustible propellant charge sleeve, which is used in the ammunition of modern armored cannons, e.g. B. the 120 mm cannon of the Leopard II main battle tank is also used. While most of the combustible propellant case burns when the cartridge is fired, the stub sleeve, which is made of metal, is ejected from the loading space of the weapon barrel by means of a pull-out device after opening the breech member and must be removed without endangering the crew.

A well-known, e.g. B. also realized in the Leopard II battle tank provides to collect the stub sleeves ejected from the barrel in a ready-made sleeve box, which is arranged in the combat area behind the barrel. However, this sleeve box prevents the installation of an automatic loader.

From GB-A-1 255 923 a combined extractor and feeder unit for automatic firearms with a wedge lock is known, which is designed to be easy to dismantle and robust and space-saving. In this test device connected to the weapon, the extractor has two functions to perform, namely firstly pulling out and ejecting an empty sleeve from the weapon and then following that, capturing and inserting a new cartridge into the weapon.

From US-A-2 851 928 a loading rocker for guns is also known, in which a loading trough is pivoted downward parallel to itself by its own weight and the weight of the cartridge resting on the loading trough (heavy artillery ammunition). From the attachment position, the cartridge is inserted into the weapon with the aid of the attachment or by hand. After closing the breech, the loading trough returns to its upper loading position, after which a new cartridge is placed on the loading trough and the fired shot is ready to fire. This gun does not have a pull-out device. Information about the extraction of empty tubes or even their further transport is neither contained nor suggested in this publication.

The invention has for its object to provide a novel ... sleeve evaluator, which quickly and safely transports the stub sleeves ejected from the gun barrel out of the combat area and which at the same time takes up so little space that the installation of an automatic loader is made possible, the performance and so that the combat strength of the weapon increases significantly.

This object is achieved by the invention specified in claim 1.

Advantageous embodiments of the invention emerge from the subclaims.

Dabei zeigt:

  • Fig. 1: einen Längsschnitt durch den Kampfraum eines Kampfpanzers und den in diesem Kampfraum angeordneten Hülsenauswerfer;
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing. It shows:
  • 1: a longitudinal section through the battle area of a battle tank and the sleeve ejector arranged in this battle area;
  • Fig. 2: a front view of the sleeve ejector with a view from the gun barrel.
Fig. 1 shows in longitudinal section, a part of a combat area 2 of a main battle tank 1 with a view of parts of the weapon system and the sleeve ejector. The combat area 2 is protected by the armor 5. In the left part of the figure, part of the weapon 3 of the main battle tank 1 can be seen together with the wedge lock 4 shown in the open position. The sleeve ejector 100 is pivotably arranged between a receiving position and an eject position. The receiving position of the sleeve ejector 100 is shown with solid lines, while the ejection position of the sleeve ejector 100 is only indicated by dash-dotted lines. The sleeve ejector 100 comprises a shell 10, the receiving position of the sleeve ejector 100 is arranged directly behind the breech opening 7 of the weapon 3 and in this way can catch the stub sleeve which is pulled out of the weapon 3 and is not shown in the drawing. FIG. 2 shows a front view of the sleeve ejector 100 as viewed from the weapon barrel. From this figure in particular it can be clearly seen that the shell 10 z. B. consists of parts of a cylinder jacket which are matched in terms of their radius of curvature to the circumference of the stub sleeve to be accommodated. In the shell 10 there is also a flap 11 connected to the holding arm 13, which in the receiving position of the sleeve ejector 100 is folded out of the surface of the shell 10 and stands vertically upwards. This flap 11 serves as a stop for the stub sleeves drawn out of the weapon 3 along the axis of the soul. The shell 10 is pivotally mounted on a total of four holding arms 12, 12 ', 13, 13', which in turn are rotatably mounted on axles 17, 17 'arranged in the combat area 2. A hydraulic drive unit consisting of cylinder 14 and piston 15, which is articulated on the one hand firmly inside the combat area 2 and on the other hand on at least one of the holding arms 12, enables a pivoting movement of the shell 10 from the receiving position in its eject position, which, as already mentioned, in Fig. 1 is shown in broken lines. In this ejection position, the bowl 10 is in a plane above the Receiving position opposite an opening 6 arranged in the armor 5 of the combat area 2, through which the stub sleeve still on the shell 10 can be ejected from the combat area 2. It should be noted that in this ejection position the stop position for the stub sleeve in the receiving position. % e acting flap 11 is essentially folded into the contour of the shell 10 and thus no longer prevents the stub sleeve from being ejected through the opening 6. The means for ejecting the stub sleeve from the opening 6 comprise an encircling chain 10 which carries at least one driver 19 which, when the chain 10 rotates, clears and accelerates the stub sleeve lying on the shell 10 so that it emerges from the opening 6 in the armor 5 is thrown out.

As can also be clearly seen from FIG. 1, the sleeve ejector 100 is in the ejection position so far above the core axis of the weapon 3 that its loading space is freely accessible and a new cartridge can preferably be reloaded by an automatic loader. While the components of the automatic loader are not shown as not essential to the invention, the outline of a newly supplied cartridge is indicated by dash-dotted lines to show that the sleeve ejector 100 in the ejection position does not hinder the loading process. After the cartridge 101 has been loaded and the firing process has ended, the shell 10 swivels back into the receiving position and is again ready to receive a barrel sleeve 102.
