Definitions
- the invention relates to a stirring device on a continuous casting installation, in particular on a steel continuous casting installation, with at least three induction elements arranged one after the other on a strand guide and in the longitudinal direction thereof, for the formation of a magnetic traveling field operated by alternating current, the phases of the alternating current being phi with one another , usually from 120 °. are shifted, and each induction element is connected to a separate phase of the at least three-phase alternating current.
- a stirring device with which a discontinuous metal flow can be achieved in the core zone of the strand in order to avoid segregation is known from DE-B-1 962 341. It has moving field inductors arranged one after the other in the longitudinal direction of the strand guide, each with multi-phase rod winding.
- a multi-phase sinusoidal electrical current causes an electric traveling field in the form of a wave traveling in the longitudinal direction of the traveling field inductors.
- the traveling field inductors are either switched on and off alternately or reversed or supplied by means of a continuously or suddenly changing inductor voltage.
- This known stirring device requires its own control for switching on and off or reversing the polarity or changing the induction voltage in order to achieve a discontinuous metal flow.
- the invention aims to avoid this disadvantage and has the object to provide a stirring device of the type described above, with which a discontinuous stirring and thus a continuous change in the metal flow in the strand is possible and the formation of a constantly rectified circulation flow is avoided, the Stirring device should be simple and robust and does not require additional switching devices.
- the induction elements are electrically connected such that the currents and consequently the strengths and directions of the associated electromagnetic fields on at least two adjacent induction elements differ at all times in addition to the fixed phase angle phi by a phase angle of 180 °.
- a preferred embodiment with induction elements, which are connected to a three-phase three-phase network connected in a star or a triangle, is characterized in that an induction element has a connection with the three-phase network opposite to its neighboring induction elements.
- FIG. 1 shows a circuit diagram for three induction elements according to a first embodiment lying one behind the other in the longitudinal direction of the strand.
- Fig. 2 shows an analog representation of a second embodiment.
- 3, 4 and 5 show the preferred constructive design of yokes.
- induction elements arranged one after the other in the longitudinal direction of a strand 1 continuously cast in a continuous casting installation, the shell of which is designated by 2 and the liquid core are designated 3, are formed as coils 4, 5, 6, optionally equipped with cores or yokes are.
- These induction elements 4, 5, 6 are provided along the strand guide, not shown, of the continuous casting installation.
- a three-phase three-phase network 7 is used to supply the induction elements 4, 5, 6, the phases or conductors R, S, T of which are connected in a star connection.
- the induction elements 4, 5, 6 are connected to the three-phase network as follows:
- the end closer to the strand is connected to the round T-conductor, whereas the end closer to the strand surface 8 of the induction element 5 is connected to the center conductor H.
- the two ends of the first and last induction elements 4 and 6 which are remote from the strand surface 8 are connected to the center conductor N and the end of the central induction elements 5 which is further away from the strand surface 8 is connected to the S conductor.
- the phase shift of the three three-phase phases R, S, T is, as usual, 120 °.
- the induction elements 4 to 6 are connected to a three-phase network 9 constructed in a delta connection, in contrast to that shown in FIG. 1 Embodiment, the induction elements do not lie with their axis 10 perpendicular to the strand surface 8, but parallel to it, etc. parallel to axis 11 or longitudinal direction of the strand and the strand guide.
- the middle induction element 5 is connected in opposition to the two other induction elements 4 and 6, so that likewise no traveling field continuously propagating through the three induction elements can arise, but rather a discontinuous alternating magnetic field is formed.
- the frequency of the alternating current of the embodiments shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 is expediently between 2 and 120 Hz.
- FIGS. 3 and 5 show embodiments with six induction elements 4, 4 '; 5, 5 'and 6, 6', each of which three 4, 5, 6 and 4 ', 5', 6 'are connected as shown in FIGS. 1 or 2.
- two induction elements each have common yokes 12 and 13, which is formed from soft magnetic material.
- Two induction elements 4, 4 'and 5, 5' and 6, 6 ', each connected in the same direction, can be connected in series or series with one phase or one conductor R, S, T or N, so that each phase or an induction element is supplied by each conductor R, S, T (N).
- the relative movement of the molten metal to the strand shell breaks the dendrites formed on the solidification front and, because of their difference in density to the melt, enters them in the liquid part of the strand.
- An inconsistent change in the concentration of the thin layer, in the transition between the liquid and the solid state of aggregate, cannot or only to a small extent take place by the stirring device according to the invention, so that the formation of a white band is omitted or occurs only to a small, non-disturbing extent.

Description
Fig. 2 zeigt in analoger Darstellung eine zweite Ausführungsform.
