Definitions
- the invention relates to a power-driven driving tool for fasteners with a housing, a driven driving plunger accommodated in the housing, which is guided in a driving channel and with a magazine for receiving the fasteners and their advance to the driving channel with the aid of a feeder, the front end of which the underside of the housing can be fastened, the magazine having two parallel spaced, elongated guide elements, of which nails, pin-like fasteners etc. or U-clips are guided, and wherein the nails, pin-like fasteners etc. are arranged in the channel between the guide elements .
- power-driven driving tools have a magazine for receiving and guiding the fastening means.
- the fasteners are generally stored in a magazine, and corresponding guides are provided in the magazine to guide the fastener strip when it is advanced in the direction of the drive channel by means of a spring-loaded pusher.
- Conventional driving tools are normally only designed to process one type of fastener. The devices are therefore used to drive in either nails, staples or the like, the fastening means having approximately the same dimensions, with the exception of the length, which can be different.
- the two guide rails can only be made very thin. Since they naturally stand freely over their greatest length in the room, they are not particularly suitable for proper guidance of the fastening means.
- the magazine design of the known driving tool can still work satisfactorily. It is already of limited suitability for medium-length fasteners.
- the known construction is unusable, since malfunctions can very easily occur during operation.
- the invention has for its object to provide a magazine for power-driven driving tools with which both clips and nails or similar fasteners can be processed satisfactorily even if the fasteners are very long.
- brackets are guided by only one of the two guide elements and the guide elements can be fastened to the housing in two laterally spaced positions so that either the longitudinal axis of the channel between the guide elements or the guide element leading the clips to the driving channel is aligned.
- the clips are only guided by one of the two guide elements.
- This guide element must therefore be adjustable relative to the weft channel, since the channel between the guide elements must be aligned with the weft channel in order to process nails or pins.
- the invention has the advantage that the guide elements, which can be designed, for example, in the manner of rails, can be made relatively thick and therefore have sufficient rigidity, even when the fastening means are of considerable length, for example up to 90 mm. Since the other guide element is not used to guide the Elammer, it can be of any thickness and therefore sufficiently stiff.
- the width of the guide element used to guide the brackets is at least equal to the distance between the legs of the brackets. This dimension is also sufficient to ensure sufficient stability.
- brackets exceed a certain width
- an alternative solution to the above solution can also be used advantageously.
- the invention consists in that one or both guide elements can be fastened to the housing in two laterally spaced positions and have a smaller spacing from one another for guiding clips together than for guiding the nails, pins, etc.
- both guide elements are adjusted towards one another, possibly under Contact each other to form a guide for the clips aligned with the drive channel.
- the guide elements can have a much greater thickness than in known driving tools.
- the guide elements are at a fixed distance from one another and are jointly adjustable. It is particularly advantageous if, according to a further embodiment of the invention, the guide elements are adjusted parallel to themselves. It is conceivable to adjust the guide elements only in the front area relative to the tool or drive channel and to pivot them around the rear end. However, this results in a certain misalignment in one of the two positions, i.e. the nails or staples are not fed exactly perpendicular to the tool. This can lead to inhibitions. It is therefore preferable to adjust the guide elements parallel to themselves.
- an embodiment of the invention provides that the guide elements abut vertically against a stop surface of the tool arranged below the housing.
- the guide elements are preferably flush with a flat surface the stop surface of the tool, in both optional positions.
- at least one guide element has a projection on the front end face which optionally interacts with one of two recesses in the stop surface.
- the projection can be formed by a pin which can be inserted into a suitable hole in the stop surface. In this way it is ensured that the axis of the channel between the guide elements or the axis of one of the guide elements is exactly aligned with the driving channel.
- the magazine of driving tools is attached with its rear end region to a grip section of the housing.
- a further embodiment of the invention provides in this connection that a first tab and a second tab are attached to the handle section, which can be firmly connected to one another in two different positions relative to one another, preferably through a bolt.
- the tabs can lie flat against each other.
- the invention provides that one tab has an elongated hole through which the screw bolt passes, which in turn is screwed to the other tab, an eccentric is rotatably mounted on the tab having the elongated hole and with one Projection engages in the slot.
- the eccentric is preferably mounted on the screw bolt.
- the eccentric can be pivoted, the projection, which is for example a pin, engaging in one position on one wall and in the other position on the opposite wall of the elongated hole. In these two positions, the rear end of the guides is then precisely defined according to the two positions to be taken.
- an embodiment of the invention provides that at least one of the guide elements is fastened to the tool with the aid of a screw which can be screwed in from the front of the tool through either one of two holes through the tool.
- a corresponding symbol can be assigned to the two holes so that the user can recognize which operating mode is set.
- the stability of the guides is improved and the adjustability is facilitated if, according to a further embodiment of the invention, the guide elements are formed in one piece and are connected to one another by a lower web.
- ribs or the like are formed on the guide elements in the longitudinal direction.
- the apex lines of the ribs determine the management level. In this way, the amount of material for the guide elements can be reduced.
- Fig. 1 shows a compressed air powered driving tool, which has a housing 10, a handle 11 with compressed air connection 12 at the rear end, a release lever 13, a tool 14 and a magazine 15.
- a driving plunger connected to a working piston is guided in the housing and is guided in a driving channel in the tool 14 during the driving process.
- the magazine 15 is fixed to the tool 14 at the front end and connected to a rear section of the handle 11 in a rear end region.
- a feeder 16 is guided in a manner still to be shown, which is biased by a spring, not shown.
- the tool 14 consists of a rear part 17, which is fastened to the underside of the housing 10 by means of screws 18, and a front plate 19, which is fastened to the rear part 17 by means of screws 20.
- the cross section through the tool 14 can be seen in FIGS. 3, 5, 6 and 7.
- the rear component 17 is U-shaped in cross section with legs 21 pointing rearward, which are provided with recesses which, as can be seen from FIG. 1, are arranged in a row one above the other.
- the rear part 17 has a recess in which a rod-shaped element 23 is suitably inserted, which delimits a drive-in channel 24 for a drive-in tappet 25.
- the driving plunger has a central section which is approximately circular in cross section and adjoined by rectangular sections in cross section. The cross-sectional shape of the driving plunger 25 enables both staples and nails or pins to be driven in.
- FIGS. 2, 4 and 9 A component with a U-shaped cross-section can be seen with two parallel legs 26, 27 and a connecting web 28.
- the legs 26, 27 extend over the entire length of the magazine 15 as guide rails, the Schenlcel 26 having trapezoidal ribs 29 on both sides in cross-section has, whose tips are each in one plane, while the leg 27 has a rib 30 of a similar shape.
- the legs 26, 27 are with a dovetail groove provided for receiving a plastic strip 31 or 32.
- the leg 27 is reinforced near the web 28, as shown at 33.
- the outside of the leg 27 has two spaced, mutually facing grooves for snappingly receiving a cover 34.
- a very long U-clip 35 is guided by the leg 26, the web resting on the plastic strip 31 and the legs against the clip the tips 29 lie more or less on both sides of the leg 26.
- the length of the legs is 90 mm.
- the feed slide 26 shown in FIG. 1 also slides on the strip 31 of the leg 29.
- the front ends of the legs or rails 26, 27 are flat and lie flush against a flat rear or stop surface 37 of the rear component 17.
- FIGS. 3 and 5 it can be seen that in the case of FIG Guide rail 26 is aligned with the driving channel 24 or driving tappet 25. The clamps 35 are thus properly driven in by the plunger 25 one after the other.
- the channel between the legs 26, 27 is aligned with the driving plunger 25 so that the nails 36 can be driven in.
- the legs of the rails 26, 27 therefore have different with regard to FIGS. 3 and 5 Positions. It can be seen from FIGS. 6 and 7 that at the front upper end the rail 27 has a lateral extension 38, the front of which lies in one plane with the flat surface of the rail 27.
- a pin 39 is suitably inserted into the projection 38, the projecting end of which is seated in a suitable blind hole 40 in the case of FIG. 6 and in a suitable blind hole 41 in the case of FIG. 7.
- the rails 26, 27 are each displaced parallel to themselves relative to the other figure, namely by the amount of the distance between the axes of the holes 40, 41.
- the rails 26, 27 are evenly displaced in parallel over their entire length.
- Fig. 8 From Fig. 8 it can be seen that two bores 44 are formed in the front plate 19, through which a screw bolt 45 can optionally be passed in order to be screwed to the end face of the rail 27.
- the symbols arranged next to the bores 44 indicate the respective mode of operation of the magazine.
- FIG. 9 The attachment of the magazine 15 to the handle 11 in the rear area and the adjustment possibility of the magazine can be seen in FIG. 9.
- a tab 46 is attached, which protrudes approximately vertically.

- an elongated hole 48 is formed (drawn in broken lines).
- an eccentric lever 51 is arranged, which is provided with a shoulder screw 49.
- the shoulder screw 49 projects with a shoulder through the elongated hole 48 of the bracket 47.
- the threaded shoulder is screwed into a threaded hole in the bracket 46.
- the eccentric lever 51 is also provided with a pin 50 which projects into the elongated hole 4 8.
- the rear end face of the handle 11 is provided with symbols which indicate at which position of the eccentric lever 51 the magazine 15 is set for which fastening means in the rear area.
- the rails 26, 27 can also be designed and adjustable in such a way that both U-clamps accommodate in a parallel row. Furthermore, U-clamps can overlap both rails 26, 27 when they are in contact with one another. Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a power-driven driving tool for fasteners with a housing, a driven driving plunger accommodated in the housing, which is guided in a driving channel and with a magazine for receiving the fasteners and their advance to the driving channel with the aid of a feeder, the front end of which the underside of the housing can be fastened, the magazine having two parallel spaced, elongated guide elements, of which nails, pin-like fasteners etc. or U-clips are guided, and wherein the nails, pin-like fasteners etc. are arranged in the channel between the guide elements .
Regardless of the type of drive, power-driven driving tools have a magazine for receiving and guiding the fastening means. The fasteners are generally stored in a magazine, and corresponding guides are provided in the magazine to guide the fastener strip when it is advanced in the direction of the drive channel by means of a spring-loaded pusher. Conventional driving tools are normally only designed to process one type of fastener. The devices are therefore used to drive in either nails, staples or the like, the fastening means having approximately the same dimensions, with the exception of the length, which can be different.
In the case of the power-driven driving tool mentioned at the outset, however, there is also the possibility of optionally processing nails or staples without the magazine or other parts having to be replaced (US Pat. No. 3,156,920). The magazine has two elongated guide elements which are designed in the manner of rails and fastened at one or both ends. The nails are guided in the channel between the rails. The legs of the clips overlap both rails. It is understood that the driving channel and the driving plunger are both designed so that both nails and staples can be driven in effectively.
In the known device, however, it is disadvantageous that with relatively narrow brackets and thick nails, the two guide rails can only be made very thin. Since they naturally stand freely over their greatest length in the room, they are not particularly suitable for proper guidance of the fastening means. For relatively short fasteners, the magazine design of the known driving tool can still work satisfactorily. It is already of limited suitability for medium-length fasteners. For very long fasteners, however, the known construction is unusable, since malfunctions can very easily occur during operation.
The invention has for its object to provide a magazine for power-driven driving tools with which both clips and nails or similar fasteners can be processed satisfactorily even if the fasteners are very long.
This object is achieved in that the brackets are guided by only one of the two guide elements and the guide elements can be fastened to the housing in two laterally spaced positions so that either the longitudinal axis of the channel between the guide elements or the guide element leading the clips to the driving channel is aligned.
In the driving tool according to the invention, the clips are only guided by one of the two guide elements. This guide element must therefore be adjustable relative to the weft channel, since the channel between the guide elements must be aligned with the weft channel in order to process nails or pins.
The invention has the advantage that the guide elements, which can be designed, for example, in the manner of rails, can be made relatively thick and therefore have sufficient rigidity, even when the fastening means are of considerable length, for example up to 90 mm. Since the other guide element is not used to guide the Elammer, it can be of any thickness and therefore sufficiently stiff. The width of the guide element used to guide the brackets is at least equal to the distance between the legs of the brackets. This dimension is also sufficient to ensure sufficient stability.
If the brackets exceed a certain width, an alternative solution to the above solution can also be used advantageously. According to the invention, it consists in that one or both guide elements can be fastened to the housing in two laterally spaced positions and have a smaller spacing from one another for guiding clips together than for guiding the nails, pins, etc. In this embodiment, preferably both guide elements are adjusted towards one another, possibly under Contact each other to form a guide for the clips aligned with the drive channel. In this embodiment too, the guide elements can have a much greater thickness than in known driving tools.
With regard to the first-mentioned embodiment according to the invention, it is advantageous if, according to one embodiment of the invention, the guide elements are at a fixed distance from one another and are jointly adjustable.
In order to ensure reliable support of the guide elements in the front area and at the same time their adjustment possibility, an embodiment of the invention provides that the guide elements abut vertically against a stop surface of the tool arranged below the housing. The guide elements are preferably flush with a flat surface the stop surface of the tool, in both optional positions. In order to obtain an exact adjustment, a further embodiment of the invention provides that at least one guide element has a projection on the front end face which optionally interacts with one of two recesses in the stop surface. The projection can be formed by a pin which can be inserted into a suitable hole in the stop surface. In this way it is ensured that the axis of the channel between the guide elements or the axis of one of the guide elements is exactly aligned with the driving channel.
Usually, the magazine of driving tools is attached with its rear end region to a grip section of the housing. In order to enable a parallel adjustment of the guides of the magazine, a further embodiment of the invention provides in this connection that a first tab and a second tab are attached to the handle section, which can be firmly connected to one another in two different positions relative to one another, preferably through a bolt. The tabs can lie flat against each other. In a further embodiment, the invention provides that one tab has an elongated hole through which the screw bolt passes, which in turn is screwed to the other tab, an eccentric is rotatably mounted on the tab having the elongated hole and with one Projection engages in the slot. The eccentric is preferably mounted on the screw bolt. If the screw bolt is loosened, the eccentric can be pivoted, the projection, which is for example a pin, engaging in one position on one wall and in the other position on the opposite wall of the elongated hole. In these two positions, the rear end of the guides is then precisely defined according to the two positions to be taken.
In order that the guides are also secured at the front end, an embodiment of the invention provides that at least one of the guide elements is fastened to the tool with the aid of a screw which can be screwed in from the front of the tool through either one of two holes through the tool. A corresponding symbol can be assigned to the two holes so that the user can recognize which operating mode is set.
The stability of the guides is improved and the adjustability is facilitated if, according to a further embodiment of the invention, the guide elements are formed in one piece and are connected to one another by a lower web.
Since the weight of the guides becomes very large with very long fasteners and a corresponding thickness, it looks out design of the invention that ribs or the like are formed on the guide elements in the longitudinal direction. The apex lines of the ribs determine the management level. In this way, the amount of material for the guide elements can be reduced.

The
The cross-sectional shape of the
The front ends of the legs or rails 26, 27 are flat and lie flush against a flat rear or stop
Die neben den Bohrungen 44 angeordneten Symbole deuten die jeweilige Betriebsweise des Magazins an.From Fig. 8 it can be seen that two
The attachment of the
In the position shown in solid lines in FIG. 9, nails or pins are fired (see also symbol in FIG. 9). In the position shown in dash-dotted lines, brackets are fired. If the
In a modification of the function of the
