Abstract

An athletic shoe for track and field use, especially a running shoe, is formed in such a way that a flexible running sole is provided only in the area of its running surface and, thus, largely does not exist in the area of the longitudinal arch of the foot, and from the arch area to the heel, the running sole is rendered resistant to distortion by a reinforcement plate. Additionally, in the area of the longitudinal arch of the foot, the running sole has a supporting wall directed diagonally upward toward the inside of the foot that is fitted to the arch of the foot. Thus, a shoe for track and field use is obtained that is extremely light in weight, has high resistance to distortion and supports the foot well.

Description

The present invention relates to a sports shoe according to the preamble of the main claim.

Sports shoes of this type for athletic purposes, in particular for sprint and short distances, are generally known and are described and illustrated, for example, in the brochure "PUMA sports shoes 66", pages 8 and 9 under the name "PUMA SF-Form". These racing shoes with the special SF (super-form) sole shape are extremely light, since the actual outsole is practically only intended in areas that form treads. In the area of the arch of the foot, the comparatively thin upper material is adapted to the arch of the foot. These shoes are characterized by their lightness compared to previous designs, since a relatively large amount of sole material could be saved in the sole area. Due to the mostly continuous rubber outsole, these racing shoes are very elastic. The thorns protruding downward in the forefoot area are riveted into a midsole. This area is therefore fairly inelastic and - considered in itself - difficult.

It is already known from DE-AS 1 o14 462 to omit the midsole and to save weight the plate provided for fastening the spikes to be arranged between two plastic plates made of polyamide, for example. The two plastic plates are in turn attached between the insole and the outsole. Although this construction is lighter than the metal plates previously used, it is also very inelastic.

Figure imgb0001
It has been found that racing shoes with the outsole, which is very narrow in the midfoot area, are very soft with the desired lightness and are particularly easy to twist in this area, i.e. they are not very dimensionally stable. The outsole is made
Figure imgb0001
Manufactured material, so the flexibility suffers especially in the ball area, so that extreme performance cannot be achieved and anatomically favorable adaptation to the foot is not possible during the rolling process.

The present invention is therefore intended to achieve the object of creating a sports shoe for athletics, in particular racing shoes, which is optimally adapted to the anatomical conditions of the foot during the run with the greatest possible lightness and which offers as little resistance as possible to natural movements. On the other hand, good foot guidance and support and, at the same time, high torsional rigidity should be guaranteed. This object is achieved by the features specified in the characterizing part of patent claim 1.

The outsole shape, which is known per se, saves material for the outsole, which is reflected in a weight saving. By arranging the stiffening plate in the midfoot area, ie in the area of the arch of the foot, all the way to the heel, the required torsional rigidity is achieved on the one hand. On the other hand, both the stiffening plate and the outsole can be made very thin in this area, so that the sole as a whole does not become at least thicker than previously used sole constructions. Nevertheless, the desired torsional rigidity is achieved and the low shoe weight is maintained. Finally, the arch of the foot is decisively supported by the support wall formed in the area of the joint, particularly also in the movement phases, so that corresponding insoles, which are known per se, can possibly be omitted. In addition, this retaining wall also helps to significantly increase the torsional rigidity of the outsole.

Further advantageous details of the invention emerge from the subclaims and are described below on the basis of exemplary embodiments illustrated in the drawing.

  • 3 and 4 section CD of Figure 1 with different design of the stiffening plate.

With 1 an outsole made of resilient material such as polyamide, polyurethane, polyethylene is called. This extends from the tip of the sole 2 to the heel 3. It is offset in the region 4 of the longitudinal arch of the foot towards the outer edge of the foot and is designed in such a way that there is no running surface under the arch of the foot, but only extends over the tread surface which results from running. In this area 4, according to the invention, a stiffening plate 5 made of very hard, tough-elastic or resilient plastic extends into the heel 3. The stiffening plate 5 serves primarily to produce a high torsional stiffness of the outsole 1. The stiffening plate 5 advantageously consists of a suitably adjusted polyamide, polyurethane or polyethylene. The plastic is expediently mixed with strength-increasing fillers, in particular with suitable fiber materials, such as glass fibers or fabrics. Glass fiber reinforced polyamide and polyurethane have proven to be particularly suitable, since these materials ensure sufficient abrasion resistance and rigidity at a low weight and price.

The hardness of the stiffening plate 5 expediently has a Shore hardness of at least 90 to 150. However, the Shore hardness of the outsole 1 is chosen to be lower and is preferably between 50 and 80. According to the invention, the outsole 1 is in region 4 with an inward provided obliquely upward support wall 6, which is largely adapted to the arch of the foot. This results in a joint support which has a particularly favorable effect on the run and a further, substantial increase in the torsional rigidity of the outsole 1. The support wall 6 is advantageously provided with reinforcing ribs 7. These are preferably arranged such that they run at least almost perpendicular to the longitudinal axis 8 of the sole when the outsole 1 is viewed from below. The spacing between adjacent reinforcing ribs 7 is advantageously approximately 2 to 5 mm and the rib thickness and rib height approximately 0.5 to 3 mm, preferably approximately 1 to 2 mm. The thickness of the support wall 6 is a maximum of about 2 mm, preferably about 1 mm, and advantageously decreases continuously towards the edge 9, so that a very acute angle is formed on the edge 9 in cross section and the edge 9 practically forms a cutting edge.

Advantageously, the support wall 6 can continue in a shell edge 10 running around the heel 3, so that the heel of the runner is also guided well. The edge 11 of the shell edge 10 can expediently be designed in accordance with the edge 9.

Advantageously, the outsole 1 in the joint area of the toe limbs and / or in the ball area is made more flexible by bending zones 12 and 13, respectively, in that a wave band 16 consisting of wave troughs 14 and wave crests 15 is formed there and this extends preferably approximately perpendicular to the longitudinal axis 8 of the sole. Inserts 18, 19 are preferably provided in the forefoot area of the outsole 1 outside the bending zones 12, 13 or at most partially encompassing them, which serve for stiffening and expediently for receiving mandrels 17. These preferably consist of the same material as the stiffening plate 5. The insert parts 18, 19 can, apart from the spike-like gripping elements 17, also carry molded-on profile projections 20. The latter expediently have such a height that the tips 21 of the mandrels 17 only slightly, i.e. protrude about 1 to 4 mm over the tips 22 of the profile projections 20. The inserts 18, 19 can be L-shaped, one leg being longer and at least approximately perpendicular to the longitudinal axis 8 of the sole.

According to an advantageous development of the invention, to further increase the torsional rigidity, the stiffening plate 5 can have an upwardly angled edge 23 which extends at least in the area 4 of the support wall 6 or over the entire outer edge, as illustrated by the section CD in FIG. 1 in FIG is. This edge 23 is tapered in cross-section towards the edge and is shaped, for example, in accordance with the edges 9, 11.

Another advantageous embodiment of the invention is that the stiffening plate 5 and the inserts 18, 19 have projections 24, for example in the form of pins or claws and openings 25, which on the one hand represent gripping elements and on the other hand for anchoring these parts 5, 18, 19 with serve the outsole 1. The latter therefore also has corresponding projections and / or openings. If the outsole 1 and the stiffening plate 5 and, if appropriate, the insert parts 18, 19 are prefabricated separately, these anchors fit or snap into one another and these individual parts are glued to one another over a large area or, for example, welded by means of ultrasound. The stiffening plate 5 and the inserts 18, 19 are advantageously placed as a preliminary product in a mold and overmolded with the material of the outsole 1, i.e. that the outsole 1 is molded onto these parts. The projections 24 of the outsole 1 are preferably designed as profile projections for better gripping on the raceway, as is shown in the heel region in the exemplary embodiment. In the area 4 of the arch of the foot, the protrusions of the outsole 1 projecting through the openings can have the form of letters and / or numbers and thus form an additional anchoring in this area 4.

The sports shoe according to the invention is particularly suitable for athletic disciplines in which high speeds have to be achieved for relatively short times, i.e. in particular for sprint and short distances, for attempts at jumping competitions, such as the long jump, triple jump, high or pole vault or also for the javelin throw . It comes up particularly in these disciplines a very low shoe weight, high torsional stiffness of the shoe and the effective support of the foot in the arch area. In the case of standard sizes, the desired weight of the sports shoes of approximately 100 g and below can be achieved with the invention.

But the invention is also of greater importance for medium and / or long distances because the previously inadequate support of the arch of the foot can lead to irreparable damage to this foot part under longer loads.
