Definitions
- the present invention relates to a snow cannon with a central compressed air supply line and a pressure water supply line which surrounds it and is arranged coaxially to it, the two lines being connected to one another by internal nozzles of the compressed air line, and the compressed air supply line into an interior space delimited in the direction of the compressed air supply at the front by a pierced end piece Spray head opens.
- the mode of operation of such a snow cannon is essentially that a very low temperature arises in the interior, with condensation nuclei in the form of ice particles forming in the air / water mixture, around which the water is already partially freezing to snow.
- a waste of energy is all the more painful with snow cannons, since considerable energy has to be applied anyway in order to activate the cold potential of the ambient air as far as possible through a long throw.
- the present invention is therefore based on the object of providing a snow cannon of the type mentioned at the outset, which allows substantially better mixing of compressed air and pressurized water to be achieved with the same amount of energy, or to bring about a mixing ratio which can be achieved with the previously known snow cannons with a significantly lower amount of energy.
- the wall thickness of the annular space in the area of the inner nozzles is 1 to 3 times larger than the diameter of an imaginary bore, the area of which corresponds to the total area of all inner bores divided by 3.
- the compressed air supply line is designated by 1, the compressed air duct 2 passing through it being connected to a compressed air source in a manner not shown.
- the compressed air duct 2 is closed at its front end by a plug 3.
- For three lateral inner nozzle holes 4 are provided, which communicate with the compressed-air duct 2, and their geometric axes intersect at an acute angle, preferably of less than 15 0, the geometric axis of the compressed-air duct.
- a baffle plate 5 is provided, which protrudes outwards perpendicular to the geometric axis of the compressed air duct 2.
- the outer jacket 6 of the pressurized water supply is arranged coaxially with the compressed air supply line 1, the inner thread 6a of which serves to receive the external thread 7a of the spray head 7.
- the result of this arrangement is that an annular space 11 is created between the jacket 6 of the pressurized water supply line and the compressed air supply line 1, which will be referred to as an annular space for the sake of simplicity.
- the distance measured on a radius between the inner wall of the jacket 6 and the outer wall of the compressed air supply line 1 is of course to be equated with the wall thickness of the annular space 11.
- the dimensions are chosen such that the wall thickness of the annular space 11 in the area of the inner nozzles 4 is twice as large as the diameter of an imaginary hole, the area of which corresponds to the total area of all inner nozzle holes 4 divided by 3. Furthermore, the wall thickness of the annular space 11 in the area of the baffle plate 5 corresponds at least approximately to that in the area of the inner nozzles 4.
- an inner space 9 is delimited by its inner wall and the end piece 8, which communicates with the outside air via three through holes 10, none of which lie in the geometrical axis of the compressed air supply line 1.
- the three through holes 10 any number of openings could be provided, but none of them may lie in the geometric axis of the compressed air supply line.

Abstract
