Claims (5)

1. Mechanism for the sudden interlocking and tripping by remote control of a circuit-breaker of the translatory type, comprising a contact-carrying bar, the said mechanism consisting of a chain of articulations and characterised in that the said chain is composed of a lever (4) for manual resetting with a rotary movement, a broken connecting rod (2) and a reciprocating device (9) articulated at one of its ends (38) on the mechanical support of the circuit breaker and at its other end (14) on the broken connecting rod (2), the said reciprocating device (9) being constituted by an interlocking rod (31) and a tripping rod (37), each carrying a thrust means and articulated inter se on a common spindle (35) rigid with the contact carrying bar which moves along the rods with perfect translatory movements, when these latter are in a position of alignment, the thrust means being tensioned upon interlock: one by an end-of-travel device and the other by a remote tripping means acting on the broken connecting rod (2).

Mechanism according to Claim 2, characterised in that the interlocking rod (31) comprises a median longitudinal slot (34) having closed ends and in that the tripping rod (37) comprises a median longitudinal slot (39) which is open at one end, the said rods carrying thrust and compression springs for interlocking or tripping of the circuit breaker by relative displacement of the spindle (35) along the slots or rods in relation to the said spindle (35).
3. Mechanism according to Claim 1, characterised in that the end of travel device is a rocker- type retaining lever (10) mounted to be returned elastically to the locking position, the end of which performs an engaging and disengaging function, remaining in locked contact with the spindle (35) throughout the compression phase of the interlocking spring and releasing it under the thrusting action of the broken connecting rod (2) when this latter has reached the alignment position for its sudden movement along the slot (39) as far as its interlocking position.
4. Mechanism according to Claim 1, characterised in that the remote interlocking means is an electro-mechanical or electro-magnetic device, displacement of the movable part of which brings about pivoting of an intermediate lever (43) which operates the lever for tripping the broken connecting rod (2).
5. Mechanism according to Claims 1 and 4, characterised in that remote tripping means is of the mechanical connection type, comprising a chain, rod or lever.
