Definitions
- the invention relates to a cutting device for generating surfaces of a cutting head on a hardened knife steel, with a drive motor, with a belt drive for driving a cutting wheel which is pivotably mounted about a pivot axis, the belt drive having a drive wheel assigned to the drive motor, a driven wheel assigned to the cutting wheel and one Includes drive belt.
- a separating device according to the preamble of claim 1 is known from European patent application No. 00 14270. With this cutting device, the cutting wheel can be pivoted out of a rest position about a pivot axis into a working position. Part of a knife steel clamped in a holding device can be separated.
- the cutting wheel used in such a cutting device is preferably cylindrical in shape. Above all, only one of the two circular edges is used. This means that the cutting wheel on this circular edge wears out faster. If, for example, a chip or free surface is now to be cut free on a series of bar knives, the setting of the holding device for the bar knife remaining unchanged from knife to knife, it can happen that in the last sharpened knives there is still a thicker layer of the remaining material to be sharpened remains as is the case with the knives treated first. When regrinding the knives on a knife sharpening machine, in which many knives are clamped at the same time and in which only a little material is removed per pass of the grinding wheel, the knives last treated in the cutting device therefore take considerably more time than the first treated knife. This means that the average grinding time per knife is longer than would be the case if the cutting wheel were always ideally adjusted.
- the invention as characterized in the claims solves the problem of creating a cutting device in which the wear of the cutting wheel can be continuously monitored and quickly compensated for.
- the advantages achieved by the invention are essentially to be seen in the fact that the cut-off wheel can be adjusted during operation without changing the other sizes that have already been set. It is also possible, when working with very thin cut-off wheels, to work with several successive parallel cuts. This is to prevent the cutting-off wheel from bending against the surface to be cut, which can occur in particular when the circular edge that hits the surface to be cut first hits the workpiece.
- separating device 1 shows a separating device 1. It essentially consists of a drive motor 2 of a bearing unit 3, a holding device 4 for a knife steel, a housing 5, a door 6 which is arranged to be horizontally displaceable, and supports 7 for the housing 5.
- the housing 5 can again be seen in FIG. It consists of a bottom 8, a side wall 9 and 10 and a ceiling 11. A further side wall 12 closes the housing 5 from the rear.
- the drive motor 2 is fastened to the ceiling 11 by means of screws 13 and 14.
- a drive wheel 16 for a drive belt 17 is fastened on a drive shaft 15 in a known manner.
- a toothed belt can also be used as the drive belt 17.
- a rectangular frame 18 surrounds the drive motor 2 on all sides, as can be seen in particular from FIG. 3. Attached to the frame 18 is also a box 19 which, as can be seen in particular from FIG. Screws 21 and 22 serve to fasten the bearing block 20 to the box 19 (FIG. 2).
- Bearings 23 for a shaft 24 are provided in the bearing block 20. This carries an output gear 25 at one end and a cutting disc 26 at the other end, which is partially (see also FIG. 4) surrounded by a protective housing 27.
- a bearing bush 28 is inserted in the side wall 9. Its inner surface is provided with a thread 29.
- a sleeve 30 is screwed into it, which is provided with a handle 31 at one end.
- the inner surface 32 of the sleeve 30 receives bearings 33 for a bolt 34, which at its end remote from the bearing 33 carries a gear 35 which is fixed to the frame men 18 is connected.
- the bolt 34 in turn is also firmly connected to the frame 18, namely via a screw 36 which is screwed to a counterpart 37 in the frame 18.
- a bearing bush 38 for a bearing 39 is also inserted in the side wall 10.
- a bolt 40 is slidably arranged, which, via a screw 41 together with a counterpart 42, firmly connects the bolt 40 to the frame 18.
- a further bearing bush 43 is inserted below the bearing bush 28 for a shaft 44 which carries a lever 45 with a handle 46 at one end and a pinion 47 which meshes with the gear 35 at the other end.
- the bearing bushes 28 and 38 are arranged coaxially with a pivot axis 48. This means that the frame 18 mounted in the bearings 33 and 39 with the box 19 and the bearing block 20, which together form a bearing unit 3 for the cutting wheel 26, can be pivoted about the pivot axis 48.
- 4 supports 49 can additionally be seen, which support the side walls 9, 10 and 12. Furthermore, it can be seen that the holding device 4 for a knife steel 50 is arranged on the base 8 in a known manner.
- the axes 51 and 52 are inclined to the pivot axis 48 by an angle oc, which is preferably approximately 10 °.
- the box 19 is also arranged at right angles to the axis 51, 52.
- FIGS. 2, 3 and 4 also show a support 53 in which a support 54 can be locked with a screw 55.
- This carrier has a reference surface 56 at its end.
- the holding device 4 is first set in a known manner in such a way that the surface 57 to be separated is parallel to a movement plane 58, which is shown by a broken line.
- a rest position 59 and a working position 60 for the cutting wheel 26 can be seen in FIGS. 3 and 4.
- the handle 46 By pulling the handle 46, whereby the force is transmitted to the bearing unit 3 via the lever 45, the shaft 44, the pinion 47 and the gear 35, the cutting wheel 26 is pivoted into a working position 60.
- the position of the grinding wheel 26, and thus the plane of movement 58 which is decisive in the direction of the pivot axis 48, can be compared with the surface 57 marked on the knife steel 50, for example.
- the plane of movement 58 can be shifted sideways and thus adjusted.
- the pin 40 slides on the bearing 39 and the gear 35 slides sideways on the wider pinion 47.
- the support 54 with the reference surface 56 is also set in the support 53 on the movement plane 58, so that the cutting wheel 26 in its rest position 59 touches it lightly.
- the width B of the driven wheel is selected such that it adjusts the width b of the toothed belt by the displacement path for the bearing unit 3 exceeds.

Description
The invention relates to a cutting device for generating surfaces of a cutting head on a hardened knife steel, with a drive motor, with a belt drive for driving a cutting wheel which is pivotably mounted about a pivot axis, the belt drive having a drive wheel assigned to the drive motor, a driven wheel assigned to the cutting wheel and one Includes drive belt.
A separating device according to the preamble of claim 1 is known from European patent application No. 00 14270. With this cutting device, the cutting wheel can be pivoted out of a rest position about a pivot axis into a working position. Part of a knife steel clamped in a holding device can be separated.
The cutting wheel used in such a cutting device is preferably cylindrical in shape.
The invention as characterized in the claims solves the problem of creating a cutting device in which the wear of the cutting wheel can be continuously monitored and quickly compensated for.
The advantages achieved by the invention are essentially to be seen in the fact that the cut-off wheel can be adjusted during operation without changing the other sizes that have already been set. It is also possible, when working with very thin cut-off wheels, to work with several successive parallel cuts. This is to prevent the cutting-off wheel from bending against the surface to be cut, which can occur in particular when the circular edge that hits the surface to be cut first hits the workpiece.

- 4 shows a side view of the separating device according to FIG. 2.
Fig. 1 zeigt eine Trennvorrichtung 1. It essentially consists of a
The
As can be seen from FIG. 2, a
In the
The
From Figure 3, 4
Dieser Träger trägt an seinem Ende eine Referenzfläche 56.FIGS. 2, 3 and 4 also show a
The
To cut a
If several knife steels have already been treated in this way with the same setting of the holding device 4, and the wear of the cut-off
