- three successive blowing pulses are generated for cleaning the rotor 11.
- the duration of these blowing pulses or the duration of the generation of each of these pulses is between 0.3 and 1.5 seconds and the pauses between the blowing pulses are between 0.2 and 0.4 seconds.
- a pulsating air jet has a stronger cleaning power than an air jet of the same size but of constant strength.
- a pulsating air jet in the example shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 also causes a reciprocation of the piston 23 in the cylinder 17 and thus a change in the immersion depth of the blow head 18 in the rotor 11.
- This change in the immersion depth causes, in addition to the effect of pulsating air jet, a further, additional improvement of the Cleaning, so that in the embodiment of FIGS. 1 and 2, the pulsating air jet is of very particular advantage.

In a method for cleaning spinning rotors for open-end spinning, a cleaning device (15) is placed on the opened rotor housing (13) and used to generate at least one rotating air jet which essentially acts on the fiber collecting groove of the rotor. Before generating the air jet, the rotor (11) is shut down and the cleaning device (15) is placed on the rotor housing (13) in such a way that between the end face of a blow head (18) generating the air jet and the free edge (34) of the rotor ( 11) forms a round gap (35). During a suction process, air is first sucked through the gap (35) from the rotor housing opening (14) through the interior of the rotor (11). The blow head (18) is then immersed in the interior of the rotor (11) and set in rotation so that the rotating air jet is formed. The suction process is maintained during this cleaning stage. The application also relates to a device for performing the method.
Description
The present invention relates to a method for cleaning spinning rotors for open-end spinning, each rotor of which is located in a rotor housing with a rotor housing opening provided for external suction, in which method the rotor housing of the rotor to be cleaned is opened and opened by a this rotor housing mounted cleaning device is covered, and the cleaning device generates by means of a rotatable blower body at least one rotating air jet which essentially acts on the collecting groove of the rotor.
German Offenlegungsschrift No. 26 13 180 discloses an open-end spinning machine in which the means for cleaning the spinning rotor contain a combined blowing and suction device which can be moved towards the latter. In addition, the suction part has a flange, which rests in the manner of a cover on the housing surrounding the spinning rotor. The blowing out and suctioning off the spinning rotor. In US Pat. No. 4,211,063, two air jets are shown which blow air against the collecting groove or into the interior of the rotor which is in rotation at predetermined, different angles. According to these two patents, the spinning rotors are rotating during the cleaning process. This means that the impurities accumulated in the collecting groove of the rotor adhere relatively firmly as a result of the centrifugal force. This makes it difficult to get proper cleaning.
German Offenlegungsschrift No. 26 48 066 shows a method in which a rotating cleaning brush is immersed in the rotating rotor for carrying out the rotor cleaning and comes into contact with its inner surface and in particular also with the collecting groove. According to German Offenlegungsschrift No. 24 10 269, a flexible probe is provided as a mechanical cleaning element for moving into the spinning rotor to be cleaned. When using brushes, the relatively strong adhesion of the contaminants due to the centrifugal force plays a subordinate role. However, there is a risk that - when using such solid cleaning agents, the inner wall of the rotor will be scratched. It should also be added that this danger also exists when using scrapers. This affects the uniformity of the fibers to be spun collected in the collecting groove of the rotor. Fibers and thread remnants can also get caught on the brushes or wind up on them, reducing their effectiveness. In addition, the wear of brushes is relatively high.
The above disadvantages are to be avoided according to the present invention. This is characterized in that the rotor is stopped prior to generating the air jet, that when the cleaning device is placed on the rotor housing, a round gap located between two parallel planes is located between the end face of a blow head facing the rotor and the free edge of the rotor through which air is sucked from the rotor housing opening through the interior of the rotor in a suction process, and that the blow head is then immersed in the interior of the rotor and set in rotation and, while the suction process is maintained, forms the rotating air jet.
The invention also relates to a cleaning device for carrying out the method, which comprises a cleaning cover which can be placed on the rotor housing of the rotor to be cleaned and the rotatable blow head, the axis of rotation of which essentially coincides with that of the rotor, and which is characterized in that a through the cleaning cover Suction channel is provided that the blow head parallel to its axis of rotation from its working position, in which its end facing the rotor is located near the free edge of the rotor and with its free edge forms the round gap, in a second working position, in which the blow head is immersed in the interior of the rotor, is movable, and that it has at least one cleaning channel which serves to generate an air jet and which is connected to a compressed air line which is used for the optional supply of Compressed air is used for the cleaning duct.
The thorough cleaning resulting from this invention, in addition to eliminating the centrifugal force already mentioned, is essentially due to the fact that the fibrous impurities accumulated in the collecting groove are transported away by the suction process that occurs first and then the relatively strongly adhering impurities consisting of fine dust particles through a sharp, ie the shortest possible jet should be blown away. In this way, a cleaning process that is specific and effective for each type is provided for both types of impurities.

In the
The cross section shown in FIG. 3 of a
For the cleaning of the
Experience shows that air, as indicated by arrows, from the
Subsequently, compressed air is introduced into the interior of the
In a modified embodiment, the
The air jet is sharper the shorter it is. For this reason, the air outlet points of the
A further, further improvement in the cleaning of the
A pulsating air jet has a stronger cleaning power than an air jet of the same size but of constant strength. In particular, a pulsating air jet in the example shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 also causes a reciprocation of the
A pulsating air jet can be generated, for example, by means of a
In a further advantageous modification of the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2, a bore is provided which extends from the atmosphere to the chamber containing the
