Description

The invention relates to a flammable gas detector.

In the case of industrial and domestic use of combustible gases, it is known that having a high degree of safety during the operation of the installations represents a technical problem of priority aspect, since it is necessary to minimize all the possibilities of gas leakage and therefore fire or damage to things and / or people, since in general flammable gases are highly toxic.

Known from US-A-3,221,320 a gas alarm device which includes a circuit for raising the dangerous concentration of gas, of the resistance bridge type, an oscillator circuit coupled to said recovery circuit and adjusted in advance to oscillate when the signal produced by the pick-up circuit exceeds the prefixed limit, a coupling circuit which couples said oscillator circuit with an amplifier, an electro-acoustic device connected to said amplifier and which produces a signal alarm in response to the amplified signal. Two elements, formed by an identical spiral of a platinum wire, one in the open air and which functions as a gas detector element and the other sealed in a case containing clean air and which functions as a compensating element, make up two branches of said resistance bridge circuit; a variable resistance is provided for balancing the bridge.

The oscillator circuit includes a tunnel diode, a capacitor and an inductor which is coupled to the amplifier coil. The amplifier includes a capacitor, fixed resistors, transistors and an output transformer; to the said transformer is connected a speaker.

The object of the present invention is to propose a particularly advantageous prevention device for installations which use flammable gases in closed environments.

  • - on obtient une sensibilité élevée et un grand degré de fiabilité;
  • - lesdites qualités sont durables dans le temps;
  • - on peut faire varier le seuil d'intervention du détecteur et ainsi augmenter la sensibilité;
The invention, as characterized in the claims, solves the problem of detecting the presence of flammable gas in dangerous quantities and, at the same time, monitoring the operation or intervention of an alarm device or backup with a detector element inserted in a branch of a resistance bridge circuit, which detector, in the presence of gas in quantity or in percentage greater than the prefixed limit, determines, in said resistance bridge circuit, a degree of imbalance which produces an electrical voltage signal to be used to electronically control an alarm or remote signaling or intervention device. The advantages obtained thanks to this invention essentially consist in that:
  • - high sensitivity and a high degree of reliability are obtained;
  • - said qualities are durable over time;
  • - the intervention threshold of the detector can be varied and thus increase the sensitivity;
  • - electronic operation has an immediate response and great flexibility of use.

L'invention est exposée ci-après plus en détail à l'aide des dessins annexés représentant schématiquement la forme préférentielle de réalisation, donnée à titre d'exemple où;The invention is set out below in more detail with the aid of the appended drawings schematically showing the preferred embodiment, given by way of example where;

la Fig. 1 représente le bloc-diagramme fonctionnel de l'appareil détecteur de gaz inflammable conformément à l'invention;Fig. 1 shows the functional block diagram of the flammable gas detector device according to the invention;

Fig. 2 shows the diagram relating to the circuit.

  • - une section d'alimentation comprenant un alimentateur de secteur (A) muni d'un transformateur à pont de redressement, stabilisé de façon opportune à l'aide de circuits électroniques connus;
  • - un circuit à pont de résistance (PM) dont une branche est composée par un élément détecteur (R) de gaz, lui-même formé par une spirale d'un mince fil d'alliage platineux, contenue de façon opportune dans une cage de fin grillage métallique (du type Davy) qui est connue en soi, afin d'interdire la propagation de la flamme en cas d'inflammation du gaz autour de la spirale;
  • - des moyens éventuels d'aspiration et d'acheminent (As) de l'air environnant à contrôler, comprenant une pompe aspirante et des conduits de canalisation ayant pour but d'augmenter la sensibilité du dit élément détecteur (R) ;
Reduced to its essential structure and with reference to the accompanying drawings, the invention is formed by:
  • - a power supply section comprising a power supply unit (A) provided with a rectifier bridge transformer, stabilized in a timely manner using known electronic circuits;
  • - a resistance bridge circuit (PM), one branch of which is composed of a gas detector element (R), itself formed by a spiral of a thin platinum alloy wire, appropriately contained in a cage fine metal mesh (of the Davy type) which is known per se, in order to prevent the propagation of the flame in the event of ignition of the gas around the spiral;
  • - possible means of suction and convey (As) of the surrounding air to be controlled, comprising a suction pump and pipe conduits intended to increase the sensitivity of said detector element (R);
  • - a note switcher (G) and an electro-acoustic transducer (TA) connected in cascade.

).In more detail and in accordance with the preferred embodiment, the mains supply (A) uses, to obtain a higher stability, a transistor (T1 of a Zeener diode (Z1) and a circuit integrated (Icl).).

The bridge circuit (PM) is formed by two fixed resistors (R2) and (R4), a variable resistance (R3) and the above-mentioned detector (R); two of the vertices of the bridge are connected to the input terminals (2-3) of a differential amplifier (Ad) whose output (6) is transferred to the terminal (4) of an integrated circuit (lc2) of the note oscillator (G), which functions as a generator of bass oscillations frequency; in addition, the output (3) of said integrated circuit (lc2) is connected, by a capacitor (C8) and a resistor (R7) in series, to the aforementioned electro-acoustic device (TA). In order to avoid the malfunction of the device in the event of a power outage, an auxiliary power supply section (A ') is provided comprising: a battery mounted in buffer with its automatic recharging circuit, a device for signaling of current interruption and battery failure as well as a timer circuit (Tp) which provides for activating the auxiliary power section with an intermittence which can be adjusted as desired.

The operation is as follows. In the event of an increase in the concentration of flammable gas around the detector (R), which results in a variation of the detector's own resistance (R), an electrical imbalance voltage is verified between terminals (2) and (3 ) of the amplifier (Ad); correctly amplified, this signal initiates the operation of the note oscillator (G) which activates the transducer (TA).

This operating condition is maintained throughout the time that the sensor (R) continues to detect a percentage of gas greater than that prefixed, this percentage is preset at will by varying the intervention threshold obtained by acting, through of the potentiometer (R3), on the state of balance of the bridge.
