Claims (8)

1. Espagnolette, especially espagnolette lock for a door, French window or the like, consisting basically of: firstly, at least one control rod (4, 5) fitted with bolt mechanism, and secondly, a locking device (13) built into the headstock (12) which springs back to a position holding the control rod (4, 5) in an unbolted position and engages with the unlocking device (35) built into the doorframe, working in the direction in which the leaf opens so as to disengage the locking device (13) and allow the control rod (4, 5) to be brought back to the bolted position when closing the leaf, the locking device (13) of which is located on the free end (14) of a lever (15) running parallel or approximately parallel to the headstock (12) and pivoting around a shaft (16) located at its opposite end (17) and which is arranged perpendicularly to the external surface (39) of the headstock (12).

Espagnolette in accordance with Claim 1, characterised by the fact that the headstock (12) comprises a horizontal or approximately horizontal slot to allow for the passage and movement of the locking device (13) engaging with at least one of the control rods (4, 5) and with the unlocking device (35) built into the doorframe.

Espagnolette in accordance with Claim 1, characterised by the fact that the lever (15) consists of two parallel fins (36, 37) located on either side of the internal (38) and external (39) surfaces of the headstock (12), the free ends (14) of these fins (36, 37) being fitted with the locking device (13) consisting of an internal projecting unit (21) and an external projecting unit (33).

Espagnolette in accordance with Claim 3, characterised by the fact that the upper surface (30) of the internal projecting unit (21) of the locking device (13) comprises a sloping face (31) to catch the connecting rod (23) linking the two control rods (4, 5) according to a generant (32) perpendicular to the external surfaces (25) of the connecting rod (23).
5. Espagnolette in accordance with Claim 3, characterised by the fact that the internal projecting unit (21) of the locking device (13) consists of a roller in the shape of a truncated cone pivoting around a jointed spindle (42) perpendicular to the internal surface (38) of the headstock (12).
6. Espagnolette in accordance with Claims 1, 2 or 3, characterised by the fact that the locking device (13) is symmetrical in relation to the longitudinal median line of the headstock (12) in order to ensure the reversibility of the espagnolette.
7. Espagnolette in accordance with Claim 1, characterised by the fact that the unlocking device (35) built into the doorframe consists of a keeper without a baseplate for the reversibility of the espagnolette (1).
8. Espagnolette in accordance with Claim 7, characterised by the fact that the keeper comprises a movable baseplate (40) which can be fixed as requisite by any method of fixation to either surface (41) of the keeper so as to ensure the reversibility of the espagnolette (1).
