Abstract

Structural components for constructing a retaining wall, a noise barrier or similar structure are made up of a pair of horizontally extending generally parallel runner elements and connecting elements joining the runner elements together. The downwardly facing lower surface of each runner element has a concave curvature. The concave curvature is made up of a stepped surface which is higher at the outer side of the runner elements than at the inner side. Lines normal to the individual stepped surfaces intersect below the concave surface at a point. The structure components can be stacked one on the other to form a wall backfilled with earth or other material. Sound waves striking against the stepped surfaces are reflected into the slopes of the backfilled material between the individual components.

Description

The invention relates to a set of components consisting in particular of prefabricated reinforced concrete components for a retaining wall, noise barrier or the like designed as a lattice wall with horizontally running, preferably uniform depth and essentially regular grid-shaped runner elements and preferably binder elements running at right angles thereto.

To form a retaining wall designed as a lattice wall, a set of components consisting of runner elements and binder elements is known in which a plurality of rotor elements arranged horizontally and parallel to the wall plane rest on and are held by binder elements which are arranged at right angles to this and extend into the backfilling of the wall (AT- A-281891). The backfilling of the wall forms natural slopes in the spaces between the runner elements. This retaining wall can also be used as a noise barrier, the sound emanating, for example, from a traffic route being reflected on the underside of the horizontal rotor elements into the natural slopes of the backfill.

In another component set for the modular construction of a retaining wall, the individual components each consist of two mutually directed rotor elements which are connected to frame-like, stackable components by transverse binder elements (DE-A-2646020 and DE-A-2923631). By stacking a plurality of such components, a spatial framework is obtained which can be backfilled with earth and thus forms a noise barrier to be used on both sides.

In this set of components, the rotor elements are essentially convex towards the outside of the retaining wall, with the result that a large part of the sound hitting the wall is scatteredly reflected toward the sound source, while only a relatively small part of the sound is absorbed.

The invention has for its object to provide a component set of the type specified to absorb as large a portion of the sound impinging on the wall as possible, ie to destroy it, and to keep the reflective portion as low as possible.

According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the bottom view of the rotor elements has a concave curvature which is open towards the outside of the retaining wall.

The bottom view of the runner elements expediently consists of step-like stepped flat sections. The surface normals of the flat sections advantageously intersect at one point. The intersection of the surface normals of a runner element expediently lies in the front area of the surface of the respective runner element that faces the outside of the retaining wall.

The rotor elements can have approximately a prismatic shape with a triangular cross section, the sides of which are formed by the surface and the rear surface of each element and by the curved bottom view.

However, the rotor elements can also have an angular shape in cross section with a substantially horizontal leg and a substantially vertical leg, the curved bottom view being formed on an insert piece which is inserted into the cavity formed by the two legs of the rotor element. This insert is expediently made of sound-absorbing material.

It is also possible for two rotor elements, which are directed towards one another with their rear surfaces, to be connected by binder elements to form a frame-like component which is expediently designed to be stackable.

The ends of the runner elements can protrude beyond the binder elements.

Foot-like spacers are expediently provided, preferably in the area of the intersection of rotor and binder elements.

The advantage of the invention is seen essentially in the fact that, due to the stepped formation of the bottom view of the rotor elements after a concave curvature, a particularly large proportion of sound waves impinging on the bottom view of the rotor elements are reflected into and absorbed in the partial embankments between the rotor elements. The sound is reflected towards the sound source only at the surface-insignificant steps between the flat sections running in the curvature. A noise protection wall equipped with rotor elements designed according to the invention accordingly has a highly absorbent noise protection performance.

The component 1 shown in plan view in FIG. 1 consists of two parallel rotor elements 2, which are connected to form a frame by two binder elements 3 designed as cross members. In the area of the intersections of the rotor elements 2 with the binder elements 3, foot-like spacers 4 (FIG. 2) are formed, with which such a component 1 can be set in recesses 5 in the top of a corresponding component 1 '(FIG. 3). By stacking several such components with the height decreasing in width, a double-walled lattice wall is created, the interior of which can be filled with soil, which forms two slopes 14 on or between the rotor elements, which can be planted (FIG. 7). Instead of green soil, another absorbent material can also be used.

What is important for the invention is above all the special design of the bottom view of the rotor elements 2, which is explained in more detail with reference to FIG. 5. Fig. 5 shows a section of the cross section of Fig. 3, namely an enlarged view of a cross section of a rotor element 2. The rotor element 2 has a triangular cross-section, one side of which is through the flat, slightly inclined surface 6, the second side of which is likewise flat, essentially vertical back surface 7 and the third side of which is formed by the curved bottom view 8. The material thickness that requires the formation of a front end face 9 and a rear lower end face 10 is neglected.

The bottom view consists of a concave line with step-like stepped, straight sections 11 and intermediate steps 12. The straight sections 11 are arranged such that their surface normals 13, which are indicated by dash-dotted lines in FIG. 5, intersect at a point P, which lies in the vertical direction approximately below the front end face 9 and in the horizontal surface 6 'of an element 1' lying below the element 1, but in any case is located within the backfill 14 of the element 1 'underneath which forms a natural slope angle. In this way it is achieved that even from the most unfavorable angle, namely just past the corner 15 of the lower element 1 'past sound waves are largely reflected into the partial embankment 14 and can be absorbed there.

While the rotor elements 2 in the embodiment of FIGS. 1 to 5 are designed as solid concrete components with a triangular cross section, it is also possible, for example to save weight, for the rotor elements with an angular cross section consisting of a substantially horizontal leg 16 and a substantially to form vertical legs 17 and to provide the specially designed bottom view 8 on an insert 18 which is inserted into the cavity formed by the legs 16 and 17 (FIG. 6). This insert can also be made of a particularly sound-absorbing material, e.g. B. from Einkornbeton, plastic or the like.

Finally, FIG. 1 shows a practical exemplary embodiment of a noise protection wall, which consists of a total of five components according to the invention stacked one above the other, the width of which decreases from bottom to top. The rotor elements are each designed in the same way and with the same dimensions. The different width of the individual components 20a to 20e results from the different lengths of the binder elements 3a to 3d. The backfilling of the wall is advantageously carried out continuously, i. that is, after moving the lowermost component 20a, it is filled up to the height of its binder elements 3a, then the component 20b is placed on top, filled up to the height of its binder elements 3b, etc., until the uppermost component 20e can be put on.
