Definitions
- the invention relates to a folding door, consisting of narrow vertical plates suspended at the top and strips arranged on their butt joints, each of which, viewed in cross section, has a wider joint cover part and a bearing part projecting between the joint surfaces of adjacent plates, with which the two adjacent plates can be joined by means of horizontal bores of the plates arranged tension springs, which carry hinge connection parts at their ends, are articulated.
- the strips In a folding door of this type known from DE-C 1 107 921, the strips have a trapezoidal cross-section, the obtuse-angled trapezoidal edges serving as hinge edges for the pivoting movement of the plates. Due to the trapezoidal shape of the strips, it is not possible to pull out the folding door completely when closing, i.e. to bring the plates into alignment. Rather, the door remains slightly zigzag in the closed position.
- a folding door as is known from document DE-A 2934266, cannot be completely pulled out due to the design of its wooden hinges and the associated end faces of the wooden panels. As can be seen in particular from FIG. 2, an obtuse angle remains between adjacent wooden panels.
- the folding door known from document DE-A 2912514 can be brought into a completely extended position, but does not correspond to the type of the subject of the application.
- the panels of this door are not rotatably suspended and are also not connected to the joint strips (and therefore to one another) by spring means arranged in bores.
- the citation is rather a double-skin folding door with the corresponding arrangement of an actuating member between the two shells.
- the profile parts of the joint strips are also missing, the design of which can only be considered in connection with the generic arrangement of tension springs which carry hinge connection parts at their ends.
- the folding wall known from document DE-U 7735882 also does not correspond to the type of the subject of the application, because the plates are not rotatably suspended and are also not connected to the joint strips by spring means arranged in bores. Rather, in these known folding doors, the connection is achieved by form-fitting interlocking profile parts on the panel joint surfaces on the one hand and the joint strips on the other.
- the grooves of the plate abutment surfaces serve only to cause the corresponding profile projections of the strips to engage behind and thus to connect the plates and strips.
- the grooves of the panel abutment surfaces and the profile parts of the joint strips engaging in them serve a different purpose in this known folding wall.
- the invention has for its object a folding door. to create the type mentioned, which can be pulled out smoothly in an aligned position of the plates.
- each plate can be pivoted by 90 ° around the profile part of the bar projecting in its groove, so that the plates move from the fully collapsed position, in which they enclose the angle 0 °, into the aligned or 180 ° Position can be brought.
- the folding door consists of numerous narrow vertical plates 1 and strips 2 arranged on their butt joints. For the sake of simplicity, only two plates and one strip are shown in the drawing.
- Each plate or preferably only every second plate 1 is suspended by means of a suspension device 3 in a mounting rail (not shown) and guided in a displaceable manner.
- a tension spring 5 is accommodated, which is provided with hinge hooks 6 at its ends.
- the abutting surfaces of the plates 1 are grooved, i.e. in the embodiment shown, they form a groove 7 with flat flanks 8, 9 which are inclined at 45 ° to the plate plane.
- Each strip 2 consists of a T-shaped joint cover part 10 and an angle piece 11 attached to it at 45 °, the two flanges 12 of which protrude into the grooves 7 of the adjacent plates 1.
- the elbow 11 can For example, be designed as a metal angle profile, while the joint cover 10 can be designed, for example, as a wooden part or wood-veneered plastic part, the surface of the joint cover part 10 advantageously being adapted to the surface of the panels 1.
- the angle piece 11 or the entire strip 2 can be made of plastic, the surfaces of the joint cover part and the plates can be made of plastic, textile or the like instead of wood. consist.
- the flanges 12 have openings 13 into which the hinge hooks 6 are suspended. In this way, the plates 1 are hinged to the strips 2, so that a joint connection of the plates 1 to one another is created.
- Fig. 2 shows how the plates 1 are pushed together in the open position of the door in the parallel position, the one flanks 9 of the grooves 7 abutting the inner surfaces of the elbow 11.
- 3 shows the closed position of the door, in which the plates 1 have been pivoted into the aligned position, the other flanks 8 of the grooves 7 abutting the outer surfaces of the angle piece 11.
- the flanks 8 and the outer surfaces 14 of the angle piece 11 are thus cooperating stop surfaces which determine the aligned position of the plates 1 and prevent the plates 1 from pivoting still further.
- each butt joint between two adjacent panels 1 is covered on one side by the joint cover part 10 of the strip 2.
- the strips 2 are close to each other, as indicated by dashed lines in the left part of FIG. 2, so that an almost closed end face of the pushed-together door results.
- the butt joint of the panels is visible on the side opposite the bar 2, but appears here as a neutral dark joint, since its background is formed by the inside of the angle 11, which is far from the entrance opening of the The joint lies away and therefore receives no light. It is advantageous if at least the inner surfaces of the angle piece 11 are kept in a dark color.
- hinge parts instead of the hooks 6 described above as hinge parts, other hinge parts or articulated connections with springs, hinges, oil rings, wires and bands, made of different materials, can also be used. With a corresponding choice of the articulated connection, it is also possible to attach the suspension device 3 to the plate 1 off-center or to a joint cover strip 2 designed for this purpose.
- Such a strip is shown in FIG. 4, and consists of a profile part, for example made of plastic, with two legs 16 enclosing an angle of approximately 90 °, which, as already described, interact with hinge hooks 6 in the correspondingly grooved plates 1.
- the legs 16 open into an essentially T-shaped joint cover part 10, the middle leg of which is provided with a bore 17 for receiving an axis for an asymmetrical suspension.
- the wall surrounding the bore 17 can be closed or opened between the two legs 16.
- the joint cover 10 can be slightly curved on its transverse part and is provided on the outside with the corresponding decorative material, such as a wood veneer 18 or the like.
- the articulated connection described can be used both for single-skin and for double-skin folding doors.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a folding door, consisting of narrow vertical plates suspended at the top and strips arranged on their butt joints, each of which, viewed in cross section, has a wider joint cover part and a bearing part projecting between the joint surfaces of adjacent plates, with which the two adjacent plates can be joined by means of horizontal bores of the plates arranged tension springs, which carry hinge connection parts at their ends, are articulated.
In a folding door of this type known from DE-C 1 107 921, the strips have a trapezoidal cross-section, the obtuse-angled trapezoidal edges serving as hinge edges for the pivoting movement of the plates. Due to the trapezoidal shape of the strips, it is not possible to pull out the folding door completely when closing, i.e. to bring the plates into alignment. Rather, the door remains slightly zigzag in the closed position.
For aesthetic reasons, however, it is desirable to pull out the folding door smoothly when closing so that the panels are flush with one another. Fold-out doors that can be pulled out smoothly are known from DE-0 2438985 and DE-A 2814609. Here, the plates are connected to one another directly or via intermediate strips by means of hinge straps arranged at the corners. This requires flexible hinges made of plastic or fabric, which are inevitably visible at the butt joints of the panels, since no joint cover strips are provided in these constructions. These constructions are therefore particularly unsuitable for wooden folding doors in which only wood-veneered parts are to be visible from the outside.
A folding door, as is known from document DE-A 2934266, cannot be completely pulled out due to the design of its wooden hinges and the associated end faces of the wooden panels. As can be seen in particular from FIG. 2, an obtuse angle remains between adjacent wooden panels.
The folding door known from document DE-A 2912514 can be brought into a completely extended position, but does not correspond to the type of the subject of the application. The panels of this door are not rotatably suspended and are also not connected to the joint strips (and therefore to one another) by spring means arranged in bores. The citation is rather a double-skin folding door with the corresponding arrangement of an actuating member between the two shells. Furthermore, the profile parts of the joint strips are also missing, the design of which can only be considered in connection with the generic arrangement of tension springs which carry hinge connection parts at their ends.
The folding wall known from document DE-U 7735882 also does not correspond to the type of the subject of the application, because the plates are not rotatably suspended and are also not connected to the joint strips by spring means arranged in bores. Rather, in these known folding doors, the connection is achieved by form-fitting interlocking profile parts on the panel joint surfaces on the one hand and the joint strips on the other. The grooves of the plate abutment surfaces serve only to cause the corresponding profile projections of the strips to engage behind and thus to connect the plates and strips. The grooves of the panel abutment surfaces and the profile parts of the joint strips engaging in them serve a different purpose in this known folding wall.
The invention has for its object a folding door. to create the type mentioned, which can be pulled out smoothly in an aligned position of the plates.
This object is achieved according to the invention by the features characterized in the claim.
This achieves the advantage that each plate can be pivoted by 90 ° around the profile part of the bar projecting in its groove, so that the plates move from the fully collapsed position, in which they enclose the angle 0 °, into the aligned or 180 ° Position can be brought.
- 1 shows in perspective a part of the folding door, namely two adjacent panels and a strip, according to one embodiment of the invention.
- 2 and 3 show a cross section through the arrangement according to FIG. 1, namely in the open or closed position of the folding door.
- Fig. 4 shows in cross section a modified embodiment of the invention.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 3, the folding door consists of numerous narrow
Each
The
Fig. 2 shows how the
Each butt joint between two
Instead of the
Such a strip is shown in FIG. 4, and consists of a profile part, for example made of plastic, with two
The articulated connection described can be used both for single-skin and for double-skin folding doors.
