Abstract

In a box with a folding cap, a sleeve (29), which is covered by the cap (17) when the latter is folded back, is formed directly from the one-piece cut-out blank used for making the box. The part of said blank corresponding to the sleeve is formed by cutting out an aperture in the blank, so that the sleeve remains bound to the front wall of the box by lateral strips (30, 31) only. When the sleeve is layed against the inner side of the front wall by Z-folding the lateral strips, the central part of said sleeves is in direct contact with the inner side of the said front wall.

Description

The invention relates to a folding box, in particular for cigarettes, from a one-piece blank with a hinged lid on the rear wall, which in the closed position comprises a collar connected to a front wall, the collar in the area of the front wall being recessed inwards by a Z-fold.

Der ebenfalls doppellagig ausgebildete Deckel Schließt dadurch mit Vorderwand und Seitenwand in Schließstellung bündig ab.A pack of the above type is known, for example, from DE-A-2426 131. The entire pack here consists of a single, one-piece blank made of paper, cardboard or the like. The collar customary in such folding boxes is therefore part of this blank and with the front wall connected to the pack. In order to ensure the gradation, customary in folding boxes of this type, between the front wall and the side walls of the pack on the one hand and the collar and lateral collar flaps on the other hand, in the known pack in the area of the front wall and on the side walls there is a Z-fold as a connection between the collar and Given front wall and side wall. Due to this Z-fold, the collar including its collar flaps is set back by two layers of material in relation to the front wall and the side walls. The cover, which is also double-layered, closes flush with the front and side walls in the closed position.

The invention has for its object to propose an improved folding box of the type mentioned, which has a simpler structure, especially with regard to economical, mechanical production, and also ensures advantages in terms of handling.

To achieve this object, the hinged box according to the invention is characterized in that a separating cut is provided between the front wall of the collar and the front wall, in which area the lower part of the front wall of the collar lies unfolded on the inside of the front wall, and that in the end region of the front wall of the collar Side cuts formed residual connections between the collar and the front wall are folded in a Z-shape.

The pack construction according to the invention in the area of the connection between the front wall and the collar makes it easier, on the one hand, to manufacture the machine because a faultless folding can be carried out mechanically due to the relatively narrow remaining connections. Instead of a mechanically difficult Z-fold over the entire width of the front wall, the collar is only displaced in the invention in a staggered plane relative to the front wall, in such a way that the lower part of the front wall of the collar which arises between the remaining connections is just attached to the inside of the front wall . If necessary, this area of the collar front wall can be connected to the inside of the front wall by gluing or the like.

The lateral collar flaps are separated from the adjacent side flaps of the front wall in a known manner by an oblique separating cut and are bound in with a lower region between the overlapping side flaps of the front wall and the rear wall. According to the invention, the collar tabs are provided over the height of this connection between the side tabs with a cutout facing the rear wall of the pack, which prevents the formation of three layers on the back of the pack. This improves the external, visual impression of the pack. This feature of the invention can also be used independently of the described connection between the collar and the front wall.

Further features of the invention relate to the structural design of the pack.

The exemplary embodiment of a packaging shown relates to a cuboid hinged box for cigarettes. This consists of front wall 10, rear wall 11, floor 12 and side walls 13, 14. The latter are formed in two layers in the predominant area, namely consist of side tabs 15 and 16 each adjoining front wall 10 and rear wall 11.

A pivotable cover 17 connects to the upper edge of the rear wall 11. Whose lid rear wall 18 is integrally connected to the rear wall 11 and pivotable along a folding axis 19.

The lid 17 consists, moreover, of the lid top wall 20, lid front wall 21, and a reinforcing flap 22 folded against the inside thereof. The lid rear wall 18 and also the lid front wall 21 are provided laterally with trapezoidal lid side tabs 23 and 24, respectively. These form the two-layer cover side walls 25 and 26 lying congruently one above the other. Furthermore, in the area of the base 12 and the cover 17 corner tabs 27 and 28 are provided which rest on the base 12 and on the cover top wall 20 of the finished package.

A collar 29 adjoins the package blank described so far in the region of the front wall 10. This is connected in one piece to the remaining part of the blank, via residual connections 30, 31. The collar 29 consists of the collar front wall 32 as a continuation of the front wall 10 and lateral collar tabs 33 in the region of the adjacent side tabs 15.

The areas of the blank or the pack described so far are delimited from one another by longitudinal folding lines 34 and transverse folding lines 35.

The side cut parts, namely the side tabs 15 on the one hand and collar tabs 33 on the other hand, as well as the side tabs 16 on the one hand and lid side tabs 23 on the other hand, are each separated from one another over the full width by oblique separating cuts 36, 37. The inclined position (approx. 30 °) of the separating cuts 36, 37 results in correspondingly inclined closing edges of the pack and the cover, as well as a lower, oblique edge of the collar tabs 33.

Fig. 4 gefaltet. Die Faltung des Deckels 17 ist dabei konventionell. Im Bereich des Kragens 29 sind Besonderheiten vorgesehen. The blank described above is in a known manner according to the longitudinal folding process to the pack. Fig. 4 folded. The folding of the cover 17 is conventional. Special features are provided in the area of the collar 29.

The lateral collar tabs 33 are embedded and anchored here, in particular by gluing, in each case in the upper region between the side tabs 15, 16 of the side walls 13, 14 with a lower anchoring strip 38, which can have a height of approximately 5 mm, for example. This results in three layers of material locally in this area. So that these are not visible on the back of the pack, namely on the upper side edges of the rear wall 11, a cutout 39 open to the rear is provided in the collar tabs 33. This preferably has the height of the anchoring strip 38. In the region of this cutout 39, the side tabs 15, 16 are therefore directly adjacent to one another. The connection between the collar 29 and the front wall 10 is designed in a special way. In the present exemplary embodiment, residual lateral connections 30, 31 of small width are provided. Outside the area of these residual connections 30, 31, the collar 29 or the collar front wall 32 is separated from the front wall 10 by a separating cut 40. The remaining connections 30, 31 are divided by side cuts 41, 42 from the adjacent areas of the collar 29.

In the production of the pack, the collar 29 is displaced in a set back plane by relative movement relative to the front wall 10 in such a way that the remaining connections 30, 31 are folded against the back of the front wall 10. A part 44 of the collar front wall 32 overlapping the front wall 10 is in contact with the rear of the front wall 10. This results in a Z-fold 43 in the area of the remaining connections 30, 31 together with the adjacent areas of the front wall 10 and the collar front wall 32 (FIG. 6). . Outside of these residual connections 30, 31, the collar front wall 32 rests with its lower part 44 on the inside of the front wall 10. This part 44 has twice the width of the inner leg of the Z-fold 43, for example accordingly a width or height of 5 mm. Due to this relative displacement, the collar tabs 33 are moved into the region of the side tabs 15, 16 and embedded between them by the same amount.

The closing edge formed in this case by the upper edge of the front wall 10 and the outer side tab 15 is therefore single-layer, while the facing closing edge of the cover 17 is designed in two layers. This facilitates the opening of the lid 17 as a result of a shoulder between the lid 17 and the rest of the pack.

Fig. 2 und 3).In the present case, the blanks are designed in such a way that only small waste stampings are produced. In particular, the collar tabs 33 are originally of the same width as the adjoining side tabs 15. In order not to get an undesired protrusion of the inside collar tabs 33 in the finished pack, their width is subsequently reduced by an embossed edge increase 45 compared to the original width (see FIG. 2 and 3).

In the present exemplary embodiment, the inner side tabs 16 are provided with a punch-out 46 that is open toward the edge. This allows the blank to be temporarily fixed during the folding and filling of the pack in a pocket of a folding turret.
