In dem Patent Nr. 92259 ist ein Verfahren beschrieben, mittelst dessen man zu Formaldehydverbindungen der oben bezeichneten Substanzen gelangt. Weitere Versuche in dieser Richtung haben nun ergeben, dafs an Formaldehyd reichere Verbindungen erhalten werden, wenn man die Einwirkung des Formaldehyds bei Temperaturen zwischen 120 bis 1300 C. vor sich gehen läfst und die schliefslich erhaltene Masse wiederholt mit Formaldehyd in derselben Weise behandelt. Die Art der Darstellung ergiebt sich aus folgenden Beispielen:Patent No. 92259 describes a process by means of which formaldehyde compounds of the substances mentioned above are obtained. The type of representation results from the following examples:
i. 5 kg Stärke u. s. w. werden im Autoclaven mit einem Ueberschufs von 40 proc. Formaldehyd, 1,5 bis 2 1, übergössen, durchgerührt und das hermetisch verschlossene Gefäfs 5 bis 6 Stunden lang einer Temperatur von 120 bis 1300C. ausgesetzt. Nach dem Erkalten wird die Masse, welche noch reichlich Formaldehyd enthält, aus dem Gefäfs herausgenommen und nun zur weiteren Einwirkung des Formaldehyds auf die Stärke oder dergl. weitere 24 Stunden auf 120 bis 1300 C. im Trockenschrank erhitzt.· Die erhaltene Masse wird nun in einer Kugelmühle fein gepulvert, nochmals mit 1,5 bis 2 1 Formaldehyd angerührt und die vorhin beschriebene Manipulation wiederholt. Zur Entfernung des noch vorhandenen freien Formaldehyds in dem schliefslich erhaltenen Reactionsproduct wird dasselbe mit Wasser oder einem anderen Lösungsmittel für Formaldehyd behandelt und dann bei ioo° C. getrocknet.i. 5 kg strength etc. are in the autoclave with an excess of 40 per cent.
