The innovation concerns a light liquid separator with an inlet and an outlet as well as an automatic closure of the inlet or outlet when a light liquid layer forms on the water surface.
Usually, the outlet of light liquid separators is automatically closed so that the separated light liquid does not enter the sewage network through the outlet. Floating bodies are suitable for the closure; they sink as the amount of light liquid increases and block the outlet with their lower plate. There are certain problems with this, as a floating state initially occurs when the separator begins to close. With small inflows, further outflow of liquid cannot be completely ruled out. In addition, after the outlet is closed, wastewater builds up in the separator chamber, which makes it necessary to raise the shaft structure.
According to DE 28 26 034 A1 and DE 28 38 559 A1, it has already been proposed to close the inlet instead of the outlet. In this case, a closure plate is lowered onto a seat in the inlet. The closure plate is attached directly or indirectly to a floating body via a rod. Since the principle of closure by a floating body is also used there, the floating state can occur when the closure phase begins.
Das Zurückstellen in die Ausgangslage ist jedoch relativ kompliziert.DE 38 38 070 A1 also proposes closing the inlet with a ball or flap that is held in the open position by a lock. As soon as the lock is released depending on the light liquid layer that forms, the inlet is suddenly closed. However, returning it to the original position is relatively complicated.
The innovation is based on the task of creating a closure that closes without floating and that is very easy to operate by hand.
According to the innovation, this is achieved by attaching a closure body to a rod that is adjustable in height and can be locked in a fixed position, whereby the locking of the rod is automatically released by a triggering device that responds to the light liquid layer.
The rod is moved vertically together with the closure. It is used to release the closure after the locking mechanism has been removed and later to return it to the locking position. It engages at the bottom of the closure and runs inside the nozzle to be closed so that no additional sealing problems occur. The handling and locking, however, takes place on the side of the nozzle.
A float that engages a snap mechanism via a lifting device is recommended as a release mechanism. This pulls the snap mechanism back when a layer of light liquid forms, thereby releasing the lock.
You can also work with a light liquid sensor that acts on the snap-in device via a magnet and thus removes the locking mechanism.
