Mit Hilfe der Steckerstifte werden die Regalelemente gegeneinander ausgerichtet und vor allem in der Höhenlage zueinander kraftübertragend gekoppelt. Es empfiehlt sich, die mit Hilfe der Steckerstifte erzielte Steckverbindung zu sichern, was z.B. mit Hilfe einer Klemmverbindung geschehen kann, vorzugsweise mit Hilfe eines spreizbaren Distanzverbinders aus Kunststoff.
