Pulsierende Gasstrahlpumpe für Flüssigkeiten 5Pulsating gas jet pump for liquids 5
The present invention relates to a pulsating gas jet pump for liquids with a container containing the liquid to be pumped, a delivery line open to the container below the liquid level and a pump line opening into the delivery line with a free jet pipe and which can be periodically pressurized with compressed gas at its other end.
Ihr gegenüber letzterenSuch pumps have no moving parts and are therefore particularly suitable for pumping mechanically or chemically aggressive liquids, e.g. suspensions of solids in the liquid, which would destroy conventional pumps relatively quickly. Compared to the latter,
geringerer Wirkungsgrad tritt demgegenüber zurück. 20lower efficiency is a disadvantage. 20
Dies geschieht solange, bis nahezu die gesamte Flüssigkeit ausThe pumping effect is created by accelerating the liquid in the pump line by suddenly increasing the pressure in the gas cushion. This continues until almost all of the liquid is
The efficiency is improved by the fluid jet being accelerated into the tank sucking in more fluid from the tank and also pushing it into the delivery line, which usually opens into a second, higher tank, whose
Daher wird das Pumprohr vor dem Erreichen dieses Zustandes vom darin herrschenden Druck entlastet, was bisher dadurch geschah, daß- 5 ^ Potential energy is then used for further transport of the liquid. If further pressure is applied to the liquid column in the pump tube, it would eventually be completely displaced, the gas would escape from the pump tube and the pumping effect would thus be terminated. Therefore, the pump tube is relieved of the pressure prevailing in it before this state is reached, which has so far been done by

das überschüssige Gas abgeblasen wurde. the excess gas was released.
The object of the present invention is a pump of the type described, which is modified in such a way that the pumping effect of the pump is supported by further use of the gas to be blown out of the pump tube and thus its efficiency is further improved.
This problem is solved by short-circuiting the pumping and delivery lines via a connecting line that is visible during the pressure relief phase. This line, which must necessarily be located at a higher geodetic level, opens a path for the compressed gas into the delivery line, where it imparts an additional, upward acceleration to the liquid in the delivery line due to its tendency to rise upwards.
Ein Ausführungsbeispiel der Erfindung ist schematisch in der Zeichnung dargestellt, und zwar zeigen Figur 1 die Pumpe selbst undAn embodiment of the invention is shown schematically in the drawing, namely Figure 1 shows the pump itself and
Figur 2 ihr Förderdiagramm verglichen mit demjenigen einer Pumpe herkömmlicher Art.Figure 2 shows its flow diagram compared with that of a conventional pump.
Da die Pumpleitung 3 inA container 1 is filled up to a level 2 with the liquid to be pumped. A pump line 3 is immersed in the liquid, which is connected at its upper end to a pressure reservoir for gas 6 via a line 4 that can be shut off by means of a first valve 5. The type of gas to be used is determined by its compatibility with the liquid to be pumped. For cost reasons, this will in most cases be air. Initially, the liquid in the pump line 3 is at the same level 2 as in the container 1. However, if the first valve 5 is opened, the gas pushes the liquid down to a lower level 7, whereby the liquid is displaced and finally pressed into a delivery line 9. Since the pump line 3 is in

B. bei der Förderung von Suspensionen sich etwa absetzende Partikel erneut ins Fließen zu bringen. a first free jet pipe 8 ends, the liquid is given an increased speed. As shown by the arrows, liquid is sucked from the container 1 into the delivery line 9 and conveyed along with it. The delivery line ends in a storage container 10 which is at a higher geodetic level than the container 1. After level 7 is reached, the supply of pressurized gas to the pump line 3 is interrupted by closing the valve 5. If a path out of the pump line 3 is opened up for the gas, the liquid can rise again to the higher level 2, the pump line 3 being filled by liquid flowing in from the container 1. Instead of releasing the pressurized gas into the environment in the relief phase via an opening in the pump line 3 (not shown here) without any further work, according to the invention there is a short-circuit line 11 which can be shut off by means of a second valve 12 and which connects the pump line 3 to the delivery line 9. The second valve 12, which is shut off during the pressure application to the pump line 3, is opened when the first valve 5 is closed, whereupon the pressurized gas escapes into the delivery line 9 until level 2 is again reached in the pump line 3. Since the short-circuit line 11 ends in a second free-jet pipe 13, the liquid in the transport line 9 is given a further upward acceleration. When the gas pressure in the pump line 3 has dropped to ambient pressure, the second valve 12 is closed and the first valve 5 is opened again, whereupon a new pumping cycle begins. In a known manner, pumps of the type described can be connected either in series (to achieve a greater delivery head) or in parallel to even out the delivery flow or to set a desired delivery profile, with the pressure application to the individual pumps taking place at different times. In this case, intermittent operation can also be intended, for example to get particles that have settled when conveying suspensions flowing again.

In Figure 2, time is plotted on the x-axis and the flow rate on the y-axis. First, the liquid is pumped during the duration of the pumping cycle tp; during the relief cycle te that follows, however, the characteristic curve drops below the zero line (dashed line), i.e. the pumping power is negative due to the backflow into the pumping pipe 3. When using a pump according to the present invention, however, the characteristic curve takes the course indicated by the solid line. Although the relief cycle te then lasts longer, the additional pumping power corresponding to the hatched area is gained.
