Description
Process for creating relief effects on textile fabrics Relief-like patterns on textile fabrics have already been used in various ways Way generated, e.g. B. by interweaving crepe yarns of different twist under Simultaneous use of special types of weave or by embossing patterns by means of a Gaufrier calender or by gluing two flat structures in places, one of which will jump in more strongly than in a subsequent anti-wrinkle treatment the other. Processes have also become known according to which flat structures initially printed with reserves and then subjected to a shrinking treatment The reserved positions do not take over. As it is with the help of the last Cited process is generally not possible, water- and wash-resistant To achieve relief-like patterns, these working methods have so far only minor gained practical importance.
It has now been found that they are completely water- and wash-resistant Relief effects can be obtained by adding formaldehyde to textile fabrics and acid locally to react and then a shrinking treatment subject. The local implementation can be done by direct or reserve pressure take place. Formaldehyde can also be used in place of formaldehyde releasing Substances and, instead of the free acid, also acid-releasing salts are used. The textile fabric becomes the result of the local reaction with formaldehyde and acid locally water and wash resistant to subsequent shrinkage treatment reserved. The consequence of this is that the printed areas stand out from the fabric lift out in relief.
The simplest embodiment of the present process consists in that the sheet-like structures are printed with a thickened solution of formaldehyde and acid, then dried and then the shrinking treatment is carried out. One can also proceed in such a way that an alkaline reserve is first printed on, dried, then padded with a solution containing formaldehyde and acid, then dried again and finally the shrinkage treatment is carried out. EXAMPLE i A crepe fabric with an acetate chain and viscose crepe weft is printed in the stretched-out state with a printing paste of the following composition: 20 g tragacanth, 100 g formaldehyde, 10 g ammonium chloride, 87o g water. It is then dried in the tensioned state and then creped in the usual way in an alkaline solution. Example 2 A cellular wool muslin is printed in the stretched state with a printing ink of the following composition: 500 g dextrin, 20 g sodium hydroxide solution 36 ° B6, 480 g water.
The dried goods are taken by a solution, which in liter 100 g formaldehyde and 5 g hydrochloric acid conc. contains. Then it is dried and finally mercerized with caustic soda at 30 ° B6 without tension.
