Description

Verfahren zur Herstellung kupferummantelter Stahldrähte Die bisher üblichen Verfahren zur Herstellung kupferummantelter Stahldrähte, wie sie in der Elektroindustrie neuerdings Verwendung finden, sind umständlich und auch wenig ergiebig, wobei noch der Nachteil beachtlich ist, daß die Kupferummantelung sich leicht von dem Stahldraht stellenweise löst. Um dem Bedürfnis der Erleichterung einer Produktionssteigerung nachzukommen und dabei eine innige Verbindung zwischen Drahtseele und Kupferummantelung zu sichern, schlägt die Erfindung vor, sich der bekannten Rohrstrang" pressen zu bedienen, und zwar in der Weise, daß während der Auspressung des den späteren Kupfermantel bildenden Hohlblockes durch den Dorn der Presse hindurch der Stahldraht geleitet wird, der, zuvor auf Schweißtemperatur erhitzt, .durch neutrales Gas hindurch bis in den Bereich der Matrize geleitet wird. Der Ummantelungsvorgang ist hierbei mit einer Verschweißung der beiden Werkstoffe verknüpft. Der gebrauchsfertige Zustand des auf diese Weise hergestellten Produktes wird dadurch erzielt, daß der kupferummantelte Stahldraht im Anschluß an den Strangpreßprozeß einem Ziehprozeß unterworfen wird. Hierbei wird der Durchmesser auf die gewünschte Größe gebracht, wobei gleichzeitig eine proportionale Dickenabnahme der Kupferummantelung eintritt. Bei der praktischen Ausübung des Verfahrens wird es sich empfehlen, den Stahldraht von einer im Innern eines Glühofens untergebrachten Trommel abzuwickeln, wobei zwischen Ofen und der Einführungsstelle für den Draht in dem Dorn eine mit neutralem Gas gefüllte Leitung vorgesehen ist, wobei natürlich auch Vorsorge getroffen sein muß, im Ofen selbst eine Oxydierung des Stahldrahtes zu vermeiden, wobei ebenfalls das an sich bekannte neutrale Gas Verwendung finden kann.Process for the production of copper-clad steel wires The hitherto common processes for the production of copper-clad steel wires, as described in the The electrical industry have recently been used, are cumbersome and also not very productive, the disadvantage being that the copper cladding easily comes off the steel wire loosens in places.
