Description
Process and device for processing grain One of the most important requirements of modern milling is the precise maintenance of a certain moisture content in the mill products, even if the mill processes mixtures of very different types of grain. The usual preparers are not ideal in this regard. In addition, both when drying and when moist, they suffer from the fact that the heat supplied must be brought into the flour kernel via the outer layer of the grain. That means that z. B. when drying with warm air, the temperature of the same must be selected relatively high in order to obtain the desired grain temperature. Local overheating of the grain cannot be avoided here. Even with other drying processes, the time-consuming setting of the preparer to the desired temperature still has a very lossy effect on the grinding. When moistening grain, standing times of up to 50 hours are still common. This entails expensive acquisition costs for stand-off silos, etc.
According to the invention, the grain is to be processed by heating it in a high-frequency alternating field. That is known per se. A method has also become known for facilitating the peeling of grain by treatment in a high-frequency field for, for example, qo to 50 seconds, in which a moisture content of the grain of at least 18% was considered essential. It was recognized that such a process is also suitable for processing grain that is to be ground in the usual way.
This is where the present invention comes in. It shows in detail how such a preparation is to be carried out in order to achieve an optimal effect. As already mentioned, the well-known procedure held, which was mainly a relief of peeling cereals aimed to have a moisture percentage of at least 18 ° / o for required. In contrast, it has been found that for mere conditioning of the grain for the purpose of a subsequent grinding the moisture content at most should be 17 ° / a, but not lower than 16%. Tests have shown that the semolina and haze are much cleaner than when preparing the grain with more than 18% moisture, and with a poor yield too is to count. With a humidification below 16'0 /, the semolina and haze become impure and the color of the flour is darker, as the bran splinters and finest when it is ground Bran particles are added to the flour through all siftings.
According to a further finding of the inventor, such a High frequency treatment of grain in general a means to reduce moisture or the state of dryness of a mixture of different types of grain on the same Set the value and condition the mixture at the same time. When drying Mixtures of grains with different moisture content are viz the high-frequency treatment heats the water-rich grains more strongly than the grains with less water content. The result is that the water release in a the lot treated in this way differs from grain to grain; however, compensation occurs of a uniform. Water value decreases very quickly when air is saturated. as The result is a perfectly evenly dried and prepared batch of grain won, which, from the point of view of the mill technology, is as high as possible milled in yield.
When wetting with high frequency according to the invention, the speed the penetration of moisture through the shell in the core promoted so that you can do without stand-by silos entirely. The cell walls are under this Influence more permeable and therefore for osmotic processes in water penetration made more accessible. Furthermore, it has been proven and supported by practical tests, that the grain largely increases in volume due to the internal heating. With this In parallel, the capillary system of the outer layers of the grain is expanded, which in turn leads to an accelerated effect of moisture absorption in the flour kernel leads.
For example, the figure illustrates a technical operation according to the invention. In the drawing: I storage silo, II laundry, III High frequency treatment, IV cooling, V collecting tank, VI screw net apparatus, VII Transport for grinding.
The material to be treated in silo I with a water content of about 12 ° / o is sent to a normal laundry II. The length of stay is directed according to the initial moisture content of the material to be treated. Leaves the estate the laundry with a moisture content of, for example, about 15.5% and now passes the high-frequency line, the wheat with a natural humidity of over 16 ° / o can be fed directly to the laundry, bypassing it. The high frequency line Appropriately forms part of the transport path (suction pipe, conveyor belt) of the Grain and is covered with, for example, semi-cylindrical capacitor plates, the length of the heating-up time of the grain, taking into account its speed of movement and the generator power must be adapted. It is useful that a Part of the conveyor pipe consists of glass or other lossless material, which of the, for example, semi-cylindrical capacitor coverings that generate the electric field is enclosed. The capacitor plates with a bulge on the edge will can be easily exchanged so that they can be exchanged at any time depending on the type of treatment can be. The grain needed, for example, to pass the high-frequency line a time up to i minute. Then let the temperature reached on the After-effect cereals, for example for a period of 5 to 15 minutes or even even longer. Then the heated material, the temperature of which is still about 50 to 6o "by sucking cold air through it to its starting temperature, z. B. about 21 °, cooled as quickly as possible, preferably in a thin layer is sucked off by the air flow. Despite this external cooling, this takes place Treatment still sweating the material to be treated, as the flour kernel is only cools slowly so that the outer shell still remains moist, especially when the goods that have been cooled in this way remain in a storage container V for a certain period of time. A screw net apparatus VI can also be interposed behind the storage container that wets the treated good like a veil and the moisture content for example to 16.50 / increased. Such treatment is the first shot a particularly clean detachment of the shell from the core can be expected with certainty.
In the event of stoppages in the supply of material to be treated in the high-frequency field the generator can be switched off automatically. If the generator fails, the reverse can be done the supply of the material to be treated is interrupted by a suitable control system, so that no-good can pass untreated through the capacitor field. The final temperature the item to be treated is also electrically adjustable so that it is exceeded the desired temperature cannot occur. If a batch of grain becomes excessive Delivered naturally moist, you bypass the laundry and carry the items to be treated only over the high frequency system. Nevertheless, there is a certain inside of the grain Ripening takes place, a 'visible change in volume is also noticeable results in a lower hectolitre weight.
In general, according to the invention, wavelengths are well below 100 m used and the electric fields between plate or ring-shaped electrodes generated.
