Device for plate heaters, in particular for milk The invention relates to plate heaters, in particular to closed pasteurizers for milk or the like, the plates of which are made from thin pressed metal sheets and are provided with connecting channels near the inlet and outlet holes, by means of which the liquid is routed to and diverted from the distribution strips; they extend over the entire width of the plate and distribute the liquid over the entire width of the heating surface. The heat transfer in connecting channels in known plates of this type is very low, since the flow rate in the connecting channels on the two sides of the plate, in particular at the lowest part of these channels, is too low to achieve a turbulent flow. For the same reason, burning takes place in large parts of the connecting ducts, since the ducts are not adapted to the gradually decreasing flow which occurs when part of the liquid is distributed via the distribution strips. This burning reduces the heat transfer even more and often gives the liquid a burnt taste. The cause of these two errors lies in the fact that the connecting channels are of the same width over the entire length. In the case of the plates in which the rubber sealing groove is formed by strips welded to a flat, unpressed sheet metal, the channels can be made narrower in such a way that the strips for the rubber seal are placed slightly diagonally over the plate so that The channel becomes narrower, the further the distance from the inlet hole: is, because the rubber: sealing groove on one side then interferes with that of the neighboring panel or the other panel side and can be laid independently of: the other panel (see Fig. 6 and 7 ) . The situation is different when the rubber sealing grooves and the depressions which are located in the plates, in which the liquid flows under the sealing strips of the plate lying above the bar, are pressed into a plate made of thin sheet metal. Either beveled connecting channels have to be made by reducing the depth of the channels the further one moves away from the inlet hole (Figs .i and 3 must be laid diagonally in relation to the distribution strip so that a cut-off connecting duct is obtained. The recess has the task of "stiffening the plate at the point where the milk is introduced to the connecting channel under the rubber strip of the plate overlying the bar when the plates are seen from the rubberized side."
eigentlichen Wärmefläche p.Since these connecting channels c difficult with vortex-forming folds od.
Like. Can be provided, the necessary turbulence and satisfactory heat transfer must
are forced by making these channels relatively narrow, so
that the Durchflußgeschwin.digkeit is as large as possible, preferably
larger than on the folded or provided with other turbulence-forming arrangements
actual heating surface p.
The canal narrowing can be partly due to a decrease in the canal depth
occur with increasing distance from the egg inlet hole, partly through a decrease
the channel width and partly by a combination of these methods. Below channel depth
one understands here the distance between the channel bottom and the underside of the next one,
overlying connecting channel.

Plate package according to the line a-b.

it can be seen that the bar g can not be drawn independently of the next plate
but must be in a similar position and at a similar angle as the
