Der Erd-Ausheber ist ein Gerät von der Größe eines .Spatens und dient zum Ausheben von Erdlöchern und Gräben aller Art. In dem Schaft ι wird durch Niederdrücken des Griffes 3 die Lenkstange 2 abwärts geführt, wodurch sich die beiden Greifschaufeln 4, die einerseits durch die Lenkstreben 5 mit dem Schaft 1 und anderseits durch die Schaufeldrehachse 6 mit der Lenkstange beweglich verbunden sind, so weit öffnen, daß der Abstand ihrer Rückwände voneinander unten um einige Millimeter weiter ist als oben. Dadurch wird ein Klemmen in der Erde beim Hineinstoßen vermieden. Die Begrenzung der Schaufelöffnung erfolgt durch entsprechende Anschläge an den Griffgelenken. Das Schließen der Greifschaufeln erfolgt nach dem Hineinstoßen in die Erde durch Aufwärtsziehen des Griffes, wodurch sich die Lenkstange nach ol>en bewegt und die Greifschaufeln schließt. Um auch beim Herausziehen des Gerätes aus der Erde ein Klemmen im Erdreich zu vermeiden, verläuft der ol>ere Teil der Schaufelrückwände auf einem Kreisbogen um die Schaafeldrehachse. Die Schaufelschneiden sind geschärft und gehärtet, st) daß eine stark verwachsene Grasnarbe sowie auch daumenstarke Baumwurzeln mühelos durchschlagen werden. Die Schaufelabmessungen sind zweckmäßig so gehalten, daß ein quadratisches Erdloch entsteht und die beiden Schaufelschneiden bei wechselnder Drehung des Gerätes um 900 allseitig wirken können.
