Description
Measurement method for the local determination of capacitive couplings in telecommunication lines A perfect transmission in telecommunication lines, especially in multi-pair lines Telecommunication cables, is only guaranteed if all pairs are smooth (homogeneous) and free of coupling are. Such couplings are predominantly of a capacitive nature. You step z. B. on; if at one point a compensation capacitor, as used to balance the natural Couplings are built in, becomes defective, or if a solder joint has contact resistance has, or to a particularly large extent in the case of interchanging cores. Pairing errors were previously measured with alternating current, determined locally, depending on the frequency, the characteristic impedance of the line or the phase angle up to the fault location is determined. These measurements require a considerable amount of measuring equipment and calculations and are therefore difficult and time consuming.
The subject of the present invention is the application of two simple ones Bridge circuits to measure such irregularities. You will be short, uncoiled lines, up to about 3 km, with normal alternating current of about 800 Hz (buzzer current), with longer cables and with all coiled cables with direct current surges operated. In the first case, a handset is used to display the zero, in the other a handset Mirror galvanometer.
The essence of the invention is shown in Figure i. Between the veins ib and 2a there is a coupling c ', because z. B. at this point the connection to a compensation capacitor is torn off according to general rule. The natural capacities are shown as capacitors c.
According to the invention, the two wires ia / b are placed on two arms of one Measuring bridge, the third wire 2a, with which there is the coupling, in the current diagonal. In picture ia a bridge with sliding wire is shown, others Position - but the well-known Murray arrangement (Fig. Rb) can also be used. Furthermore, the receiver and power source can be interchanged in a known manner and, as already mentioned, direct current and mirror galvanometer as required use. If there is a connection to earth, wire 2a is connected to earth to replace.
A phase angle, which preferably originates from the line resistance or from insulation deficiencies in the wires, can be eliminated by compensating means known per se, e.g. B. by the auxiliary branch HZ indicated in picture ia.
After zero adjustment the relationship a ': b' = c: (c + c ') exists. (i) If you now short-circuit the wires ia / b at the end and adjust again, you get the values a and b. This means that if l 'is the entire cable length and lx is the length to the fault location, with a + b = a' + b ' = s With the bridge arrangement according to Fig. Ib, with a / b = v and a '/ b' = z ' When measuring with a closed loop, magnetic couplings can theoretically also become effective. But they are meaningless because they are presupposed; that the natural residual couplings caused by manufacturing defects are only small per se compared to the faulty coupling, and because their magnetic component makes up only a small fraction of the residual couplings.
Instead of the earth, an auxiliary wire can also be used as a diagonal connection to serve.
As a further example, Fig. 4 shows the application of the measuring circuit in the event of a swap of the cores. Of the two pairs ia / b and 2a / b are on the line y the cores ib upd 2a-interconnected, creating a coupling capacitance that can be imagined as two capacitors c 'in the middle of the coupling path can. Of these, the lower one is less effective when core 2b is insulated. It becomes completely ineffective if you move 2b over the dashed line with the movable ' Bridge corner point connects because it then receives the same tension as ib.
The circuit according to Figure 4 can also be used with pairs that are not actually connected to determine whether the wires are longitudinally symmetrical (homogeneous, smooth). For this purpose one includes z. B. as in Fig. 51) the measuring bridge unpaired and thus creates an artificial coupling. If the wires are smooth, the effect is that there is a coupling capacitance in the middle of the line length. The two measurements according to Figure i must therefore result in half the line length according to equation (2). Irregularities that occur e.g. B. by installing a replacement piece with a different capacity or resistance, make themselves noticeable by a different measurement result.
Gewicht. If the couplings are only very weak, their weight in relation to the natural j capacities is only small, which is expressed in the fact that a 'is only slightly smaller than b' and accordingly the difference between a and b is even smaller. This makes the measurement result inaccurate. But you can in all cases the natural capacities by a little trick z. T. make it ineffective by grounding the movable bridge corner point in pictures i, 2, 4 and 5. Then, as shown in Figure 6, the partial currents flowing through C, flow to earth without touching the bridge arms. As a result, only the capacities Ca, C, are effective, which make up about a third of the total capacity; c 'is therefore more insignificant. Weight.
If you want to switch off the natural capacities completely, you have to apply the measuring voltage symmetrically to earth to the coupling pair as shown in Fig. 7. Because of the twist, there is then no coupling between salb and 2a / b except via the coupling capacitance c '. Accordingly, we get 'with bridge equilibrium This also follows from equation (2) for 'the case a' - O. If two couplings of different types happen to be present, they can usually be determined individually by an appropriate arrangement. In Fig. 8a z. B. the coupling c 'ineffective because it is practically not under any voltage difference, while in FIG. 8b only c' is effective because R lies in the diagonal.
