liegt z. B. vor bei dem Ausbreitungswiderstand eines Erders.Method of measuring electrical resistance, of which only
a pole can be reached directly, in particular from earth contact resistances Das
The method described below is a solution to the problem of a resistor
x, of which only one connection is accessible and the other pole only via
other upstream resistors y, z etc. can be reached galvanically. This task
lies z. B. in front of the expansion resistance of an earth electrode.
Such resistances can, for. B. from current and voltage drop measurements
to be determined. However, this method requires two measuring instruments and, since the
Voltage drop at r due to the inevitable upstream connection of y, z or others
Resistances in front of the voltmeter cannot be measured directly, two
Measurements or four readings from which the result can only be obtained by calculation
can be.
To avoid these disadvantages, it has already been proposed
the per se known method of comparing the voltage drops that a fixed
Current at the unknown resistor x and an upstream known resistor
r causes to be applied to the measurement of earth contact resistances. The procedure
only needs one measuring instrument. But it also requires two measurements because
the measuring instrument cannot directly determine the voltage drop at the unknown
Pick up resistance x. Rather, one of the resistors y, z is always between
the instrument and the inadequate pole of unknown resistance. Since this
Resistance is not connected upstream of the instrument because of the voltage drop
known comparison resistance r, the instrument deflections ar or
a, not proportional to the voltage drops at r or x, but rather it is: ar
r wi + y =. ax x w, (w, denote the resistance of the measuring instrument). The voltage drops
are only approximated relative to the resistances if y compared to wi
is negligible. And only if this is the case, the measuring device can be used in units of resistance
be calibrated. In the general case y is a second unknown, so that a second
Measurement becomes necessary according to: ar ~ r Wj + x ay - y Wi The disadvantage shown
from this method can be avoided according to the invention that not the voltage drops
at r and x, but the voltage drops at r + x
and x with help
of a display instrument of very large compared to the unknown resistance
Resistance can be compared with each other. That difference is in the measurement
of resistors, both connections of which are accessible, are of minor importance.
In the present case, however, it opens up the possibility of the influence of the resistance
y must always be switched off. This enables the instrument to be calibrated,
without having to make assumptions about the size of y.
Der unbekannte Widerstand x wird also in Reihe geschaltet (s. Abb.)
Anzeige gebracht. The unknown resistance x is therefore connected in series (see fig.)
with one of the unknown series resistors, with a voltage source E and a
Resistance of known magnitude r, so that a closed circuit is created. existing

Resistance provided on the one hand to another of the unknown Vorwiderstehey
and on the other hand is connected to a changeover switch u, which allows the
Instrument optionally to one or the other connection of the known reference resistor
r to join. This measure initially (switch position 1) the
r + -v occurring voltage drop and then (switch position) that at x alone
occurring voltage drop transferred to the measuring instrument and from this to
Display brought.

Resistances in proportion. The ratio of the deflections a1 and a2 is a.2 x

'The aim of calibrating a scale that is basically independent
depends on the size of the series resistors y and, can also be achieved with the known compensation method
where the resistance y is rendered ineffective by the fact that it is im
