Ultraviolette Strahlen absorbierendes Filter Zur Absorption ultravioletter
Filter absorbing ultraviolet rays A wide variety of substances have been used to absorb ultraviolet rays. For optical and especially for biological purposes, those ultraviolet absorbents are of particular importance which show an extremely steep rise in the absorption curve in a certain wavelength range, since this makes it possible to suddenly absorb light from a narrowly limited wavelength range. Most of the known ultraviolet absorbents do not meet this requirement. Useful absorbents of this type are pyrene derivatives, which show a steep increase in the absorption curve at about 400 m u. In particular, phenylbenzimidazole and its derivatives, in which absorption in the wavelength range of about 32.5 m, starts suddenly, have proven to be effective as radiation protection agents for the human skin. The number of known absorbents for ultraviolet rays with a very steep rise in the absorption curve in a narrowly limited wavelength interval is therefore limited.
The optical properties of dienes and polar veins, including phenyl-substituted ones_. has already been examined. We know the absorption behavior of i-pliene-lbutadiene and i-phenylpentadiene. However, these substances are not suitable as components of light filters, "since they polymerize rapidly, especially under the influence of light (see Reports 37, 1904, p. A103; Reports 40> 19o7, pp. 1768 to 1770 and Reports 45, 1912 , Pp. 3496 to 3498) and thus completely change in their absorption behavior. Cinnamalacetophenone, which is known as a light stabilizer, shows a relatively flat increase in absorption rates beginning at 39o. The absorption of the dihenzylbutadiene specified for the same purpose is according to S m ak u 1 a ("Zeitschrift für angewandte Chemie", 1934, p.661) at about 250 μ, so that it is out of the question as a sunscreen, for example.
Filtern sehr gut eignen.
und mindestens `Iol # IFaa i erreicht.
It has now been found that certain derivatives of i-phenylbutadiene also show an extremely steep and high rise in the absorption curve in the ultraviolet, so that they are very suitable as components of filters which absorb ultraviolet rays. Derivatives of i-plienylbutadiene which have this property. correspond to the formula They carry radicals with at least 2 carbon atoms or a CH .., OH group on carbon atom 4 of the chain, it being possible for corliandene hydroxyl groups to be closed (radical K). However, these residues must not contain any double bonds through which the conjugation of the plienylbutadiene chain is continued, since otherwise the desired optical properties are lost. The course of the absorption courses in the part in question is generally such that the molecular extinction coefficient increases within 10 μm by at least 10 times towards the shorter wavelengths and reaches at least `Iol # IFaa i. The steep cm rise in the absorption curve for the compounds mentioned is approximately between 312 and 330 μm, i.e. in the area of the Dorno area, so that the compounds are preferably used as skin light protection agents for biological purposes. They are particularly suitable for this because they are relatively soluble in oils such as paraffin oil. You can also z. B. lacquers or films incorporated and used for optical purposes «-erden. In contrast to i-plienyl) utadiene and i-phenyl pentadiene, even under the influence of light there is no fear of polymerization which would damage their absorption capacity.
Some of the products to be used according to the invention are known.
To the extent that they are new, they can be produced using methods that are customary per se.
The location of the steep rise in the absorption curve is indicated by the
