Process for the production of solutions or pastes from mixed polycondensation products
The by heat condensation from bifunctional compounds, z. B. (o-aminocarboxylic acids
with at least five chain-forming atoms between the amino group and the carboxyl group,
or their amide-forming derivatives, such as esters, chlorides and lactams, and of
Diamines with four or more carbon atoms between the two amino groups and
Dicarboxylic acids having at least three, preferably no carbon atoms between
the two carboxyl groups, or their amide-forming derivatives, produced condensation products
are characterized by a very high resistance to the usual 'organic
Solvent off. At normal temperature they are insoluble in aliphatic
and aromatic hydrocarbons, in chlorinated hydrocarbons, esters, ketones,
in the simple monohydric and polyhydric alcohols, their ethers and also in cyclic alcohols
Ethers.
The solubility properties of the polyamides are determined by use
those amide-forming components which have a side chain or improved
their carbon chain through heteroatoms of the sixth group of the periodic #system
is interrupted. For such polyamides or mixed polyamides with at least one
of the components mentioned 'there are a number of solvents among them
also epichlorohydrin, glycerol dichlorohydrin and ethylene chlorohydrin.
normaler Temperatur in Äthylenchlorhydrin (fl-Chlorätllylalkohol) in kürzester Zeit
It has now been found .. that such polyamides, which by co-condensation of dicarboxylic acids with an uninterrupted straight chain of at least three carbon atoms with diamines with an uninterrupted straight chain of four or more carbon atoms between the amino groups and to-aminocarbonsätiren with an uninterrupted straight chain of five will have been produced, and more carbon atoms between the amino and the carboxyl group or their amide-forming derivatives, such as lactams, esters and Säurechloriden-, solves overall already at normal temperature in ethylene chlorohydrin (fl-Chlorätllylalkohol) in a very short time to clear structure-free solutions can. Preference is given to using mixed condensates which are produced from adipic acid and hexamethylenediamine on the one hand and 1-caprolactam on the other hand. Those mixed condensates which contain at least 40 and not significantly more than 6o110 of the total weight of e-caprolactam are particularly suitable. In contrast to the above-mentioned polyamides or mixed polyamides with side chains or heteroatoms, the solubility of the mixed polyamides with an uninterrupted and straight carbon Z chain not increased so much that they become soluble in the usual solvents. It was therefore not foreseeable that such an excellent solvent ZD would be present in chloroethyl alcohol.
jeder Art, Papier, Textilien, Holz, Metall, also z. B. zur Herstellum, von Kunstleder,
Bodenbelagsmassen, Verdunkelungsstoffen, Verdeckstoffen, verwenden.
Since the chlorohydrin is an acid-free liquid, all of the disadvantages associated with handling acidic liquids are eliminated when processing the solutions of the polyamide produced with it. For example : 25 oligen solutions in ethylene chlorohydrate leave the polyamide in the form of a clear solid film after the solvent has evaporated. While the solutions of the polyamides in inorganic or organic acids are already precipitated by the smallest amounts of water, alcohol or similar liquids, i.e. they have an extremely low blending capacity, even the concentrated solutions of the above-mentioned polyamide in ethylene chloride are highly hydroyl-containing Liquids, water, alcohols, especially ethyl alcohol, to be blended without any coagulation occurring. Rather, these solutions still have a peptization capacity for additional amounts of polyamide. The water-soluble ethers of ethylene glycol, e.g. B. methyl glycol, and hydroxyl-containing esters can be added in very substantial amounts to these solutions. In these cases, too, the ability to peptize additional amounts of polyamide was retained. This had to be all the more surprising as z. B. '.L \ Iethylglykol even at 8o' practically does not dissolve the polyamide and z. B. also the lactic acid ester does not dissolve in the heat. Compared to hydrocarbons, esters, ketones, ethers, cyclic ethers and acetals, the solutions of the polyamide in ethylene chlorohydrin show a lower blending capacity. With simultaneous Z, Z> use of hydroxyl-containing liquids and representatives of the last-mentioned body classes, it is easy to produce varnishes from polyamide whose evaporation curves are adapted to the usual rules of spraying and painting technology. The solutions of the polyamide in ethylene chlorohydrin can be mixed with plasticizers, dyes and pigments in a known manner and then used as a spread for flat structures of all kinds, paper, textiles, wood, metal, e.g. B. for manufacturing, of artificial leather, flooring compounds, blackout fabrics, top fabrics. Of course, it is also possible to process the solutions on t'k5 films, foils, threads, records, bristles or similar structures.
