Bei den jetzt gebräuchlichen Stofsflächen der Billardqueues wendet man entweder dünne oder starke Platten aus Leder, Gummi u. s. w. an, welche jedoch alle mit der Zeit hart und glatt werden. Diese Stofskappe jedoch bleibt beständig rauh und ist ein Aufarbeiten mit der Feile und ein Bestreichen mit Kreide nicht nöthig.With the now common fabric surfaces of the billiard cues, either thin ones are used or strong sheets of leather, rubber, etc., which, however, all become harder and harder over time become smooth.
