Fig. ι stellt eine Seitenansicht eines Ruderwerkes mit zwei Ruderblättern α und b dar, welche an eine gemeinschaftliche Kurbel e angreifen. Dieselben erhalten ihre verschiedenen Stellungen in und aufserhalb des Wassers durch die beiden Taschen c und d, welche in Fig. 3 im Grundrifs dargestellt sind. Die Bewegung der Ruderblätter geschieht durch Drehung der Kurbel F im Boote, und beginnt die Wirkung derselben, sobald sie den Wasserspiegel berühren; sie erreichen ihren gröfsten Ausschlag nach vorn bezw. nach hinten, sobald sie mit dem Kurbelkreis tangiren, wie in Fig. 1 veranschaulicht ist.Fig. Ι shows a side view of a rudder mechanism with two rudder blades α and b , which act on a common crank e .
