Description
- Die Erfindung betrifft funktionelle Hydroxylgruppen aufweisende Monomere mit Polysiloxangruppen im Gerüst, die sich zur Herstellung von Polyurethanen eignen.
- Die Herstellung von Polyurethanen durch Umsetzung von Isocyanaten und Alkoholen ist aus dem Stand der Technik bekannt. Typischerweise werden Diole oder Polyole mit langen oder mittleren Ketten zur Bereitstellung der "weichen" Segmente von segmentierten Polyurethanen verwendet. Diese Polyole bestehen im allgemeinen aus Polyethern oder Polyestern mit endständigen Hydroxylgruppen. Die Umsetzung dieser Polyole mit Polyisocyanaten liefert Polyether- bzw. Polyesterurethane. Kurzkettige Polyole werden häufig mit Polyisocyanaten unter Bildung der "harten" Segmente von segmentierten Polyurethanen umgesetzt.
- Ungünstigerweise sind Polyole, die sich für die Synthese von Polyurethanen eignen, im Handel nur begrenzt verfügbar. Jedoch sind bestimmte Polyamine mit Gerüsten, die sich für die Polymersynthese eignen, leichter zugänglich. Sie können mit Polyisocyanaten unter Bildung von Polyharnstoffen umgesetzt werden. Jedoch verlaufen die Umsetzungen zwischen Polyaminen und Polyisocyanaten häufig zu rasch, um eine gewerblich durchführbare Herstellung zu ermöglichen. Außerdem weisen Polyharnstoffe häufig eine begrenzte thermische Verarbeitbarkeit auf.
- Erfindungsgemäß wird ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von neuen Urethanpolyolen und insbesondere von Hydroxyethylurethanpolyolen, wobei dieser hier verwendete Ausdruck Diole einschließt, aus leicht zugänglichen Polyaminen, einschließlich Diaminen, bereitgestellt. In unserem Verfahren wird eine Verbindung An-M, worin M eine Polysiloxan-Einheit bedeutet, A eine primäre oder sekundäre Aminogruppe bedeutet und n 2 oder eine Zahl größer als 2 ist, mit einem cyclischen Carbonat, z. B. Ethylencarbonat, unter Bildung der gewünschten Polyole umgesetzt. Diese Polyole reagieren dann bereitwillig und in kontrollierbarer Weise mit Polyisocyanaten, einschließlich Diisocyanaten, unter Bildung von neuen Polyurethanen. Von den erfindungsgemäßen ether- und esterfreien Polyolen wird angenommen, daß sie umfangreiche Anwendungsmöglichkeiten bei der Herstellung von Polyurethanen zur Verwendung für biomedizinische Anwendungszwecke bieten. Derartige Polyurethane und ihre Herstellung sind ausführlich im EP-A- 0361950 mit der Bezeichnung "Biostabile segmentierte aliphatische Polyurethane und Verfahren zur ihrer Herstellung" beschrieben.
- Durch geeignete Wahl eines Polyamins ist es erfindungsgemäß möglich, eine Vielzahl von Polymergerüsten in Polyurethane, insbesondere in segmentierte Polyurethane, einzuführen. Zu Beispielen für derartige Amine An-M gehören Polydimethylsiloxan (PDMS), ein Silicon-Polymeres der Fa. Petrarch Systems mit endständigen Aminopropylgruppen (PDMS-Diamin). Erfindungsgemäß ist es möglich, beliebige gewünschte Polyamine, die frei von mit Ethylencarbonat reaktiven funktionellen Gruppen (abgesehen von Amingruppen) sind, in die erfindungsgemäßen Urethanpolyole überzuführen und sodann Polyurethanen einzuverleiben. Die gebildeten Polyole können mit einem oder mehreren Polyisocyanaten, einschließlich Diisocyanaten, unter Bildung von Polyurethanen umgesetzt werden.
- Die folgenden, nicht-beschränkenden Beispiele dienen zur Erläuterung der Erfindung. Langkettige Diamine und die daraus hergestellten Diole eignen sich insbesondere zur Herstellung der "weichen" Segmente von segmentierten Polyurethanen. Die Beispiele 1 und 2 erläutern diesen Aspekt. Kurzkettige Diamine und die daraus hergestellten Diole eignen sich zur Herstellung der "harten" Segmente von segmentierten Polyurethanen. Die Beispiele 4-7 von EP-A-0361950 erläutern diesen Aspekt.
- 403 g (0,300 Äq.) Polydimethylsiloxan mit endständigen Aminopropylgruppen (Petrarch Systems) und 26,64 g (0,303 Äq.) Ethylencarbonat wurden in einem vorher mit einem Stickstoffspülstrom getrockneten Reaktionsgefäß vereinigt. Zunächst wurde das Ethylencarbonat vorgelegt und sodann das diprimäre Amin zugesetzt. Das zunächst unverträgliche Gemisch wurde mit einem Magnetheizrührer bei Umgebungstemperatur gerührt und sodann erwärmt. Die Temperatur wurde allmählich innerhalb der ersten Stunde des Erwärmungs- und Rührvorgangs von 40 auf 105ºC angehoben. Sodann wurde die Temperatur innerhalb der nächsten Stunde allmählich auf 60ºC gesenkt. Die Heizvorrichtung wurde nach 2-stündigem Rühren abgestellt. Das Gemisch wurde sodann weitere 3 Stunden bei Raumtemperatur gerührt. Eine an Proben der erhaltenen Flüssigkeit durchgeführte IR-Spektroskopie zeigte, daß die erwartete Reaktion unter Bildung eines Urethandiols stattgefunden hatte. PDMS-Diamin weist die folgende allgemeine Formel auf:
- H&sub2;N-(CH&sub2;)&sub3;-PDMS-(CH&sub2;)&sub3;-NH&sub2;.
- Das erhaltene Diol (PDMS-Urethandiol) weist folgende Formel auf
- HO-CH&sub2;-CH&sub2;-OOC-NH-(CH&sub2;)&sub3;-PDMS-(CH&sub2;)&sub3;-NH-COO-CH&sub2;-CH&sub2;-OH, worin "PDMS" Polydimethylsiloxan bedeutet.
- 5,7 g (0,004 Äq.) des gemäß Beispiel 1 hergestellten PDMS-Urethandiols wurden zu 28,62 g (0,196 Äq.) 9-Hydroxymethyloctadecanol und 26,6 g (0,200 Äq.) 4,4-Diisocyanatodicyclohexylmethan (Desmodur-W , Produkt der Fa. Mobay, Inc.) gegeben. Die Reaktantengase wurden in einem Becherglas vermischt und gerührt. Das Gemisch wurde sodann 10 Minuten in einen Vakuumtrockenschrank von 121ºC (250º F) gestellt. Anschließend wurde das Gemisch entfernt, weitere 10 Minuten gerührt und erneut für weitere 15 Minuten in den Trockenschrank gestellt. Sodann wurde das Gemisch entnommen, 5 Minuten gerührt und mit 1 Tropfen Dibutylzinndilaurat als Katalysator versetzt. Das Gemisch wurde so lange gerührt, bis das Rühren aufgrund der Eindickung des Gemisches unmöglich wurde. Anschließend wurde das Gemisch zur Vervollständigung der Härtung über Nacht wieder in den Trockenschrank gestellt. Proben des Materials wurden bei 215,6ºC (420º F) verpreßt. Das erhaltene Polyurethan wies eine Reißfestigkeit von 23,2 x 10&sup6; Pa, eine Dehnspannung von 20,4 x 10&sup6; Pa bei einer Dehnung von 7% und eine Bruchdehnung von 215% auf. Beim Polyurethan handelte es sich um ein festes elastoplastisches Material, das für Überzugsmassen, Folien oder Formkörper als geeignet angesehen wird.
Claims (10)
1. Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Polyurethans, das eine
Polysiloxan-Einheit M enthält, welches folgende Stufen
umfaßt:
Auswählen einer Verbindung An-M, worin M die
Polysiloxan-Einheit bedeutet, A eine primäre oder sekundäre
Aminogruppe bedeutet und n 2 oder eine Zahl größer als 2 ist,
Umsetzen dieser Verbindung mit einem cyclischen Carbonat
unter Bildung des gewünschten Urethanpolyols,
und Umsetzen dieses Polyols mit einem oder mehr
Diisocyanaten oder Polyisocyanaten.
2. Verfahren gemäß Anspruch 1, wobei in der Verbindung An-M
n für 2 steht und ein Urethandiol vor der Polyurethanbildung
gebildet wird.
3. Verfahren gemäß Anspruch 1 oder Anspruch 2, wobei M in
der Verbindung An-M eine Polysiloxan-Einheit bedeutet.
4. Verfahren gemäß einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 3, wobei das
cyclische Carbonat Ethylencarbonat ist.
5. Urethanpolyole der allgemeinen Formel
(HO-CH&sub2;-CH&sub2;-OOC-NX)n-M,
worin M ein Polysiloxanpolymer-Rückgrat bedeutet, NX den Rest
einer primären oder sekundären Aminogruppe bedeutet und n 2
oder eine Zahl größer als 2 ist.
6. Urethandiol der Formel
HO-CH&sub2;-CH&sub2;-OOC-NH-(CH&sub2;)&sub3;-(PDMS)-(CH&sub2;)&sub3;-NH-COO-CH&sub2;-CH&sub2;-OH,
worin PDMS Polydimethylsiloxan darstellt.
7. Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Urethanpolyols gemäß
Anspruch 5 oder Anspruch 6, bei dem eine Verbindung An-M, worin
M wie in Anspruch 5 definiert ist, A eine primäre oder
sekundäre
Aminogruppe ist und n 2 oder eine Zahl größer als 2 ist,
mit Ethylencarbonat umgesetzt wird.
8. Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Polyurethans gemäß einem
der Ansprüche 1 bis 4, wobei das gebildete Urethanpolyol ein
Urethanpolyol gemäß Anspruch 5 oder Anspruch 6 ist, welches
dann mit einem oder mehr Diisocyanaten oder Polyisocyanaten
umgesetzt wird.
9. Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Polyurethans, wobei ein
Urethanpolyol gemäß Anspruch 5 oder Anspruch 6 mit einem oder
mehr Diisocyanaten oder Polyisocyanaten umgesetzt wird.
10. Verfahren gemäß Anspruch 1, wobei das Polyurethan ein
Polydimethylsiloxan-Rückgrat aufweist, welches folgende
Stufen umfaßt:
Umsetzen von Polydimethylsiloxan mit Aminoendgruppen mit
Ethylencarbonat unter Bildung eines Urethandiols und
Umsetzen des in der vorhergehenden Stufe gebildeten
Urethandiols mit einem oder mehr Diisocyanaten oder Polyisocyanaten
unter Bildung eines Polyurethans.
