Description
Process for the production of condensation products from urea or its derivatives and formaldehyde. The invention relates to a process for the production of condensation products from urea or its derivatives and formaldehyde, which is the subject of an unpublished patent forming process starts after the thermoplastic masses made of urea or its derivatives and formaldehyde are produced by melting out with Natural resins or resin acids, fatty oils, high-boiling esters, fatty acids, alcohols or their mixtures can be made soluble in fatty oils by never in @ Condensation products produced in a known manner by heating in hydrocarbons, Oils, esters, fats or fatty acids in one that melts under normal pressure State to be transferred.
It has now been found: that the condensation products of mentioned type can also arrive by the reaction components, eg. B. urea and formaldehyde, with or without condensing agents in the presence of hydrocarbons, Paraffins or oils condensed and on to the formation of ordinary Pressure meltable thermoplastic masses are heated. This procedure has the advantage of a particularly simple way of working, since the detour via the finished Urea-formaldehyde condensate is avoided and the same in one operation the meltable thermoplastic masses are obtained. By appropriate choice of the medium in which the heating is carried out, you have it in your hand, the properties to influence the products obtained within certain limits. When executing of the process can be done, for. B. proceed in such a way that the heating of the components, like urea and formaldehyde, it makes in fatty oils, with condensation first the reaction components and then the conversion into the fusible product takes place, which then goes into solution in the further treatment in the fatty oil or the like. Man the components urea and formaldehyde can also be converted into hydrocarbons, e.g. B. in paraffin oil, @ and by heating first the formation of the thermoplastic Bring condensation products! Which are then melted out with natural resins or resin acids, fatty oils, high-boiling esters, fatty acids, alcohols or their Mixtures that can be made oil-soluble in fatty oils. As a condensing agent can e.g. B. Acids, such as phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid or alkaline Substances are used. But it can also or also with neutral accelerators work without condensation agents. 'Example 1 i mole (bog) urea becomes Dissolved in 1.5% by volume of a 30% strength aqueous formaldehyde solution and paraffin oil added so that the liquid is well covered by the oil. When adding a suitable Condensation agent (0.1 g of phosphoric acid) immediately precipitates a white condensate. If the condensation is carried out without adding a condensation agent, it takes place the precipitation on heating. As the heating continues, it escapes the water perfect; but there is some change in the condensate for the time being not yet taken place. Only when the condensate is anhydrous does it gradually become warm sticky and turns into a meltable resin. Instead of paraffin oil you can also other suitable hydrocarbons under otherwise identical circumstances for the induction of the fusible state. After separation from those used for heating By means of means, the meltable product can be processed into oil-soluble products. During the process of making the products soluble, depending on the composition of the condensation product, according to the degree of condensation, according to the proportions of the oil-solubilizing substances used and other working conditions, e.g. B. Temperatures, smaller or larger amounts of the resin, usually between about 2 and. 2ö0 / 0 fluctuate can, unsolved. The situation is similar in the following examples.
Beispiel 2' 6o g (i Mol) Harnstoff werden in i 5o g einer 300,'oigen wäßrigen Formaldehydlösung (1,5 Mol) gelöst. Example 2'6o g (i mol) of urea are in i 50 g of a 300, 'oigen dissolved aqueous formaldehyde solution (1.5 mol). The solution is made up of sodium hydroxide made alkaline to a permanent pink color in the presence of phenolphthalein. Solid paraffin is added to the liquid and heated. It imagines Condensate, which gradually gives off its water, becomes "#calated" with further heating begins and finally turns into a fusible resin. If you replace the paraffin oil by coconut oil, the resin is melted together with 30% rosin as Solubilizer partly soluble in fatty oil. One can also proceed in such a way that after the water has evaporated, equal parts of abietic acid are added to the anhydrous condensate admits, the resulting melt is freed from paraffin and melted out with the double the amount of stand oil, whereupon separated from any remaining residue will.
-Beispiel q.Example 3 bog urea, 1509 30% formaldehyde are heated with weakly alkaline condensation in stearic acid. After the water has completely evaporated, 20g of copal resin and spruce resin are added and heated until nothing goes into solution. -Example q.
One mole of urea and 1/2 mole of aqueous formaldehyde solution are placed in a vessel with the addition of phosphoric acid until an acid reaction occurs. Add 25g abietic acid and 25 g copal and 30o g of linseed oil. The mixture is heated until after the solid, anhydrous condensate has formed, it gradually dissolves in linseed oil.
Instead of linseed oil, you can also use wood oil, stand oil or coconut oil under otherwise use same circumstances.
Example 5 A mixture of urea and prepared according to Example [[]] Formaldehyde solution is mixed with 30o g of copal oil and dammar resin and heated: The resin becomes largely soluble in copal oil and is removed from any remaining Separated residue. 'In this way you can use a wide variety of solvents on the one hand as well as solubilizers, on the other hand come into use.
