Dies ist insbesondere bei Steuerzylindern, sog. Servomotoren, von besonderer Bedeutung, weil erfahrungsgemäß bei diesen ein genaues Zusammenfallen der Zylinderachse und der Deckelachse erschwert, in vielen Fällen überhaupt nicht zu erreichen ist.
