Die Erfindung betrifft eine Isolierung gegen Wärme- und Kälteverluste; sie hat zur Aufgabe, eine sichere Befestigung des Isoliermittels an dem zu isolierenden Gegenstand zu ermöglichen, und zwar derart, daß der geringste Wärmeverlust durch Leitung entsteht. Diese Aufgabe ist von besonderer Bedeutung in den Fällen, wo als Isoliermittel Metall, z. B. blanke, Wärmestrahlen zurückwerfende Metallflächen, verwendet. wird. Der Abstand zwischen dem Rohr α und der Hülle b wird durch voneinander unabhängige Abstandhalter c gewahrt. Die Halter c liegen auf dem Rohr a und zweckmäßig auch an der Hülle b an nur wenigen Punkten auf.
