so hochwertige physikalische Eigenschaften, insbesondere in Festigkeit, Elastizität,
Use of noble metal alloys for chemically and mechanically highly stressed objects. It is known that additions of chromium to the most varied of alloys make them resistant to chemical influences and improve their physical properties. This also applies to gold alloys. However, the known gold alloys have only proven to be sufficiently resistant to acids if they have a higher precious metal content. It has now been found that alloys consisting of 0.1 to 5010 platinum, 33.3 to 7.5 percent gold, 1.0 to 20 percent silver, 15.0 to 500 percent copper, 5.0 to 250 percent gold Nickel and o, ooi to 220; `o chromium, are particularly suitable for the manufacture of objects that are chemically and mechanically highly stressed. These alloys are characterized by the fact that, despite the low noble metal content, such high quality physical properties, in particular strength and elasticity, can be achieved, as was previously not possible despite the addition of the most expensive noble metals, such as platinum and iridium. The tensile strength can be increased to the greatest extent depending on the composition, so that they are superior to the best spring steel, also with regard to corrosion resistance. Many objects, which not only require resistance to chemical influences, but must also have the highest physical properties, can therefore be made from the alloys, e.g. B. Items of the jewelry and watch industry as well as: medical instruments are made. For the latter, only the expensive platinum, iridium and tantalum could be used because of the required properties; Find use.
finden. The high melting point of the alloys, which
is between 1200 and 1350 °. The possible uses of higher fusible
Alloys are particularly sought after in electrical engineering. The alloys can also
in connection with porcelain and other difficult-to-melt masses
Find.
The progress of the invention is not only in the above
Uses to behold, but lies above all in the significant
Cheaper due to small additions of precious metals on the one hand and significantly less
Material requirements on the other hand due to the great strength and elasticity.
The alloys are particularly suitable for the production of spare parts
for the interior of the human and animal body. Especially in the field
of the dental prosthesis, where particularly high demands are placed on the resistance to the mouth
precious metal alloys, which, in addition to mouth and color resistance, were missing until today
at the same time have high physical properties and are inexpensive. Investigations
found that the alloys not only withstood acidic electrolytes, but
even
due to the excellent mechanical properties to prostheses
are excellently suited.
