Description
The invention relates to measuring bridges for measuring impedances, phase angles, etc. of the kind in which both the fixed reference resistances as well as the variable reference resistance are purely ohmic resistances and the diagonal containing the alternating current source is seen with a shunt, which consists of a balancing resistor and the first winding of a correction transformer whose second winding is in the other diagonal is in series with the indicator. In the known arrangement of this type, the must balancing resistance lying in the shunt with every change in frequency to achieve the required phase equality between the applied voltage and the current in the shunt can be changed. The invention aims to measure to simplify with such a bridge that the mentioned balancing resistance is designed so that it is together with the first winding of the correction transformer forms a real impedance independent of the frequency.
The invention will be explained in more detail with reference to the drawings.
Es zeigen Fig. i zum Vergleich die bekannte Anordnung, Fig. a schematisch eine beispielsweise Ausführungsform der Erfindung, Fig.3 gleichfalls schematisch eine allgemeinere Ausführungsform der Erfindung und Fig. q. ein Diagramm zur Erläuterung des Meßvorganges.FIG. 1 shows the known arrangement for comparison, FIG. A schematically an example embodiment of the invention, Figure 3 also schematically a more general embodiment of the invention and FIG. a diagram for explanation of the measuring process.
In the known bridge according to FIG. In the shunt to the diagonal which contains the alternating current source G, there is a balancing impedance Ai, which consists of a fixed capacitor C and a variable resistor r in parallel connection. In series with this equalizing resistor is the first winding LP of the correction transformer, the second winding L "of which is connected in the other diagonal in series with the indicator, for example the telephone T. This shunt can also contain a variable ohmic resistance K. During the measurement, the Resistances N and r and the coupling between L, and L, changed so that a sound minimum is obtained in the telephone. If this setting has been carried out correctly, the current in the shunt is in phase with the applied voltage and therefore also in phase with the current in the resistors R. The voltage ratios when there is no current in the telephone branch can be seen in Fig. 1. Here, V means the terminal voltage of the generator G; I1 is the current through the two ohmic resistors R. The comparison resistance N and the impedance X to be determined are of the same current I2 is flowing through. I3 is the current through the first winding of the transform ators, and 117 is its mutual inductance coefficient. The EMF a) 11i113 induced in the secondary winding L, is accordingly phase-shifted by 90 ° with respect to the current through the resistor R. This induced EMF, on the other hand, is of the same magnitude and phase as the voltage between the corner points of the bridge to which the telephone diagonal is connected. The terminal voltage at the impedance X is the same size as the terminal voltage of the comparison resistor N and is shifted in phase by an angle 9p in relation to this, ie the phase angle of the impedance sought. The absolute size of the impedance sought is therefore equal to the value set at the comparison resistor N, and the following applies to the phase angle where ill is the coefficient of mutual induction of the correction transformer and P is the real impedance of the shunt connected in parallel with the generator G. If the impedance P is proportional to the frequency, the phase angle can be read off on a suitable scale, for example on the rotary handle or the like, with which the coupling of the transformer is set. This setting of the absolute value of the shunt impedance as a function of the frequency is effected by the resistor K, which is provided with a suitable frequency division.
In the known embodiment, the resistor y with the help of a suitable division can be set for each measurement according to the frequency, which is to be used so that the impedance P becomes real at this frequency. This cumbersome setting is unnecessary by the invention. She supports herself on the consideration; that one. frequency-independent impedance of the shunt thereby could be achieved by shunting the input side of a filter which has constant input characteristics and a series inductance in the vicinity of the input terminals, which last fully or partially through the first winding L, of the correction transformer is formed. This train of thought is from Fig. G refer to. There is a four-pole network H with its input terminals in Row with the winding LP. It is assumed that this network together with LP one with the resistor r 'terminated filter with the input terminals f and with a frequency-independent real characteristic forms on the input side. It will also assumed that the upper limit frequency of the filter over the measuring range: lies within which the measuring bridge is to be used.
The simplest form of such a filter (low-pass filter) is obtained when the filter contains, in addition to the series inductance LP closest to the input terminals, also a Ouerlcapacitance C and a series inductance L 'closest to the output terminals f'. Such an embodiment of the filter is indicated by dash-dotted lines in Figure 3; this arrangement is also illustrated in FIG.
The impedance of the balancing resistor A2 is the same The imaginary part of this expression can be written like this: wherein represents the natural frequency of an oscillating circuit, which is composed of an inductance L 'and a capacitance C. It turns out that this frequency in the dimension that is intended here is many times higher than the highest frequency in the measuring range in which the measuring bridge is to be used, for example in the speech frequency range, and that therefore the link is vanishingly small in relation to i. The coefficient of the j ü) can thus be made independent of the frequency and equal to - LP if one chooses. If this condition is met, the impedance of the equalizing shunt is real, and an adjustment to achieve phase equality between the shunt current and the impressed voltage when changing the frequency therefore does not need to be made. The real part of the general expression of the balance impedance is A2, provided that the term can be neglected in relation to i, equal Although this expression is somewhat dependent on the frequency, the small fluctuations in the resistance value for A2 have practically only a very small influence on the measurement result, because they are in themselves small in relation to the resistance r 'and in some cases this - last is small in relation to the regulating resistance K. Incidentally, the error can be completely compensated for by a suitable choice of the value of K corresponding to the various frequencies.
By compensating for the frequency dependence of the inductance LP results in the shunt branches connected in parallel with the alternator G. the advantage that the adjustment of the shunt impedance for the measurement used frequency can be done in a particularly simple manner. As shown in Fig. Q. it appears the current should be 1s, so that the desired voltage ratios are maintained will be inversely proportional to the measuring frequency; consequently the total impedance must be of the shunt branch to be directly proportional to the frequency. This can be done with the Measuring bridge according to the invention simply by setting the ohmic regulation resistor K can be achieved in direct proportionality to the frequency. The resistance K can therefore with a directly calibrated in frequency values and evenly subdivided Be provided with a scale.
