Abstract

The fire alarm has a sensor for monitoring fire parameters, with a microprocessor and a trimmable voltage regulator (4) designed so that its output voltage can be trimmed using a value stored in a register (11). The voltage regulator (4) is integrated into a circuit (1) designed for specific customer requirements, i.e. an ASIC. A control element (9), e.g a junction FET, provided external to the ASIC can be a blocking layer FET which is directly driven by the ASIC. The trim value is stored in a non-volatile memory in the ASIC.
