Dabei ist der linke Buchdeckel mit einem einstellbaren Knick versehen, welcher den Druck des nach links umgeschlagenen Schriftpaketes nach links und rechts derart verteilt. daß die linke Buchrückenhälfte entlastet und die rechte Hälfte flach auf die Tischplatte gedrückt wird. Ein weiterer Vorteil der geknickten Ausbildung des linken Buchdeckels besteht noch darin, daß bei einer Buchung in der Schräglage des Buches oder wenn das Schriftpaket vollständig auf der rechten Seite liegt, der linke Deckel trotzdem gegen den Schreibtisch gestützt werden kann. Be-. sitzt das Schriftpaket 2o im Vergleich zu. dem Schriftpaket i9 eine große Höhe und damit ein erhebliches Gewicht, so wird der linke Buchdeckel, wie in ausgezogenen Linien dargestellt ist, stärk durchgeknickt. Dabei wird ein Teil der Last des Schriftpaketes 2o auf den freien Rand 24 des Buchdeckels abgestützt, während der andere Teil der Last von der linken Hälfte 18 des Buchrückens abgeleitet und auf die rechte Hälfte 17 abgestützt wird und dabei ein flaches Aufliegen des letzteren Buchrückenteiles begünstigt. Ist das Schriftpaket 2o nur sehr dünn, so ist das Schriftpaket i9 so schwer, daß schon allein dadurch ein flaches Aufliegen des Buchrückenteiles 17 gewährleistet wird. Es genügt dann, daß der linke Buchdeckel, wie punktiert in der Zeichnung dargestellt ist, zur Abstützung des linken Paketteiles 2o nur bis zu geringer Höhe durchgeknickt ist.
