Es müssen also stets zwei
Method and device for crystallizing salts from their
Solutions The invention relates to a method and a device for crystallization
of alkalis, e.g. B. those of the potash and saltpeter industry, with heat exchange
with one flowing in countercurrent to them in direct contact, with them
immiscible exchange liquid. The essence of the invention consists
in that the lye is cooled by a neutral coolant and after or
during the separation from the exchange liquid in the coolest zone for crystallization
is brought. After the crystals have been removed, the liquor is taken up again
The heat given off is warmed up again in order to be fed to the dissolving process again
so that after the crystallization essentially without the supply of new heat
the mother liquor can be brought to dissolving temperature. So there always have to be two
Exchangers be connected in series, one of which is the cooling, the
others cause the lye to heat up.
There are heat exchangers, which are a direct contact between two
the purpose of immiscible liquids are known; but these are
on the one hand not provided with facilities for mixing the liquids, on the other hand
they are only used to transfer heat from one liquid to another
used, while according to the invention just put emphasis on the recovery of heat
is, i.e. on the connection of two exchangers, one of which is the exchange fluid
receives the heat from one working fluid in order to transfer it back to one in the other
and to deliver the same operating fluid. Those required in the crystallization process
Recovery of heat is currently only possible using air or gases
Replacement means, in the form of a gradual heat recovery, known
become. In contrast, the method according to the present invention offers the advantage
that precisely through the use of liquids as a means of exchange, only a full one
Exchange is made possible and also the exchange as a result of the use of liquids
can be carried out as an exchange means in the form of a stepless exchange.
Crystallization coolers with heat exchange have also become known, however
without direct contact between the lye and the exchange liquid, see above
that once the exchange effect is not achieved to the extent provided according to the invention
is, on the other hand, the evenness of the smooth transition in exchange
does not appear secured The drawing illustrates an exemplary embodiment
a device suitable for carrying out the new method in use
the crystallization of concentrated alkalis by cooling and reheating the
lye more or less freed from the crystallizate, which is again used as dissolving lye
should be used. While
in itself the mixing by vertical
Agitators, atomization - or other means is possible, see the embodiment
an arrangement in which the liquor flow is guided horizontally and the mixing
is carried out by a horizontal agitator.
Abb.
Fig. I shows the entire system schematically, and Fig. 2
and FIG. 3 illustrate, on a larger scale, side and end views of FIG

An denjenigen
I rechts
The concentrated lye passes from a storage container 1
the line 2 in a more or less horizontally lying tubular container
3 and from this through line 4 into an intermediate container 5, from which it is after
a cooling tower, not shown, o. The like. Is directed. It flows from the latter
through the line 6 to a similar to the container 3 lying container 7 and
is discharged from this through line 8. The cross-hatched central spaces g
and IO of the horizontal containers 3 and 7 are of a rotatable screw or a
other agitator taken, but in such a way that at both ends of the container 3
and 7 combustion chambers for the liquids which are not influenced by mechanical means
remain free. The container 3 is filled with the liquor coming from the storage container 1
only about up to half, d. H. to the level line II, as well as the container 7 only
approximately up to the base line 12. The remaining interior of the container 3 and 7 is
filled with a smaller liquid flowing in countercurrent to the caustic stream
specific gravity than the lye, e.g. B. 01, petroleum o. The like in the container
3, the petroleum is pushed through a centrifugal pump 14 and a line 15, the
ends above the liquid level II. The petroleum is discharged through
the line 16 leading from a riser-like elevation 17 at the end of the container
3 goes out. Lye and kerosene therefore flow in countercurrent to one another and in closer proximity

If the liquid flows through, mixing takes place. Still finds
at the end of the container carrying the riser pipe I7 there is sufficient calming and separation
Both liquids take place in such a way that only the petroleum flows out of the line 16.
This is conveyed further through the lines 17 and 18 according to the one in Fig. I on the right
drawn end of the container 7, where essentially the same mutual action

from which the petroleum is returned through line 20 to centrifugal pump 14

The ends of the containers 3 and 7 ensure that the liquids are separated in such a way that
that petroleum does not go under the partitions 21 and 22 after the lye drains
4 and 8 can reach. The bottom of the container sinks below the partition 2I
3 at 23 in such a way that the crystals forming in the container 3 on this inclined wall
23 falls and in this way after a bucket elevator attached to the container 3
24 arrives, from which the crystals are conveyed out at 25. The lower part
the bucket elevator is also filled with lye. The partition 21 prevents
a transfer of the petroleum into the bucket elevator.
The mode of action is as follows: The concentrated lye has the
