Description

Rolling process for the production of scraper wire, in which the starting workpiece a round wire is used The manufacture of used in wool combing Because of its peculiar profile, scraping wire has so far mainly been made using the drawing process. The actually cheaper and simpler rolling process is also used but the results were not satisfactory because there was a slight ridge when rolling, which makes the scraper wire unusable.

The aim of the invention is to produce scraper wire without a burr edge by rolling. For this purpose, the following method is adopted according to the invention: A ruild wire is rolled out in a manner known per se to form a flat wire with round corners. the end This flat wire is produced by a second roller train of wire, the B in cross section forms a right triangle. As a result of the round corners of the flat wire can the material can be pressed into .das rolled profile without it being in the nip squeezes in and forms a ridge edge. The triangular wire is produced in a third roller rolled out in scraper wire. The triangular wire is inserted into the Rolls upside down so that its point at a right angle is in the long base line of the scraper wire profile falls. Here are the largest, to be filled by the material Gaps in the roll profile close to the roll shell, so that the material here so much Finds space that it does not penetrate into the nip, so no burrs either can form. As the strongest pressure during finish rolling because of the large displacement of the material lies on the inclined surface of the scraper wire, the material becomes special here compacted and hard. This is advantageous because the scraper wire is precisely at this point is exposed to the greatest wear. This advantage could not be achieved in the drawing process be achieved.

The individual stages of the shaping are indicated in the drawing. All cross-sectional shapes are enlarged many times for the sake of clarity Scale shown.

A round wire a according to Fig. R, which is rolled out in a known manner into a flat wire b according to Fig. A, serves as the starting piece. In a second roller train, the flat wire is transformed into a profile wire c with a right-angled triangular cross-section as shown in Fig. 3. The finished profile d according to Fig. 4 is produced in a third roller train. In this illustration, the triangular wire profile is shown in dashed lines. The point of the triangle lying at the right angle is now in the large base line of the scraper wire, which is flush with the surface of the rollers, that is, in the contact surface of the rollers. There is now no excess material that can be displaced after the roller gap, and a burr edge cannot form. When finishing rolling, the greatest pressure is on the inclined surface of the scraper bar. The material weighs. as a result, it is particularly strongly compressed at this point, and this results in the desired particularly hard edge.
