Abstract
The rail tram has a height adjustable guard rail (4) fitted at its front, for covering the gap (3) between the rail track level (1) and the front surface (2) of the tram, its height adjusted via an electro-mechanical setting drive onboard the tram, e.g. in dependence on the detected level of the rail track and the movement of the tram carriage (5) provided by a sensor associated with the suspension.
