Extendable slag grate for furnaces operated with underwind
It is particularly important for underwind firing with a high combustion output that this
is also retained during the deslagging of the grate. But this is only then
possible if the combustion process is not disturbed even during deslagging
will be what happens if the downwind are turned off during deslagging
got to.
The invention relates to an extendable slag grate which

The closing plate prevents air from flowing over from the wind space
below the grate through the exposed gap into the combustion chamber. A shutdown
of the wind during deslagging is therefore not necessary.
The arrangement of a second end plate at the front end of the slag grate
allows the wind space below the slag grate from the main wind space below
to separate the grate. Both wind spaces can therefore be under different pressures
be set. For example, if the slag grate is closed for some reason
heavily covered, in order to achieve a quick, good burnout, the

to have to increase below the grate. The reverse can be done with poorly covered areas

Avoid excess air. So it results from the arrangement of the two end plates
a very favorable zone control of the air supply separately for the combustion grate and slag grate.
In diesem Falle stürzt
y durch den vom Schlackenrost freigelegten Spalt in den Feuerraum f.The figure shows an embodiment of the invention. It means y the main grate and s the slag grate to which the end plate a is hinged at the rear and the end plate b at the front. If the slag grate s is extended by hand or mechanically by the pull rod z in the direction of the arrow to the left, the end plates come into the dotted position a 'and b'. In this case, the slag previously on the slag grate s crashes after the slag shaft t, sliding over the end plate a. At the same time, this closing plate a prevents wind from flowing over from the space h below the grate y through the gap exposed by the slag grate into the combustion chamber f.
The plate b hinged at the front end of the slag grate separates the main wind space
h below the combustion grate y from the wind space below the slag grate s.
Both wind spaces receive a separate air supply, with the wind pressure in each
Zone can be set independently of one another by throttling devices d or c.
