Device for protecting parallel lines against short circuits with
Using a quotient relay that responds to the relationship between voltage and current
It is known that the difference in the currents flowing in two parallel lines
to conduct through the current coil of a relay that, if an error occurs, the
switches off the disturbed line with the shortest possible time delay, without current or voltage
of the fault circuit have an influence on the tripping time; but is already
one of the two lines is switched off, the tripping time depends on the ratio
depends on voltage and current. The relay then works as a quotient relay.
The purpose of the invention is to solve the same problem with simpler means.
For this purpose, according to the invention, the circuit of the voltage coil
of the quotient relay kept open as long as both parallel lines are in operation
are. Without the need for special resources, the quotient relay works in such a way,
as if the fault were in his immediate vicinity; because only then could the tension
be equal to zero. But as soon as one of the double lines is switched off, the
Voltage coil switched on; the relay then works with a time delay,
which depends on the ratio of voltage to current.
dargestellt. Die Doppelleitungen A und B
werden von der Sammelschiene
C gespeist.
Ein Richtungsrelais i i
In Fig. I a circuit for implementing the invention is shown as an embodiment. The double lines A and B are fed from the busbar C. The current transformers i and 2 are in the so-called figure-of-eight connection, ie they are connected in series. The output relay 3 has a current coil 4 and a voltage coil 5. The current coil is applied to the current transformers i and 2 in such a way that the difference in the secondary currents flows through it. One end of the voltage coil is connected to earth, the other end to two contacts 6 and 7, which are generally open, namely when the oil switches a and 9 are closed. However, if one of these oil switches is open, the voltage coil is connected to the busbar C. When the quotient relay 3 responds, it closes a contact io in the tripping circuit, with a delay that is dependent on the relationship between voltage and current. A direction relay ii has a current coil 12 and a voltage coil 13. The current coil 12, like that of the quotient relay, is traversed by the difference in the converter currents. The voltage coil 13 is permanently between earth and the busbar C. The direction relay closes, depending on whether line A or B carries the greater current, either contact 14 or contact 15. If both the output relay and the direction relay respond, it will depend on the trigger coil 16 or the trigger coil 17 is energized when the direction relay deflects.
Relais 3 und i i.
The mode of operation of the invention will be described with reference to FIG
in which the circuit described appears again on a smaller scale.
The busbar C is from a power source 2o via the lines D and
E fed. To protect the line section E is a quotient relay 23 and a
Direction relay 24. Disordered. The double lines A and B are, as described,
protected at one end by relays 3 and i i, at the other end by the
Ouotientenrelais 25 and the direction relay 26, which are connected in the same way as the
Relay 3 and i i. In Fig. 2 the voltage lines are omitted. Occurs
Short circuit, for example, at point F, roughly in the middle of line A,
this creates a relatively large current difference between the two lines,
and the relays 3 and i i switch off the faulty lines at one end,
the relays 25 and 26 at the other end, with the slightest delay, since the
unexcited voltage coils simulate the smallest possible quotient. But kick
a short circuit near the far end of the double lines, say at K on, so
there is no significant current difference between current transformers i and 2. the
As a result, relays 3 and ii are not activated, but on the one hand they are running
the relays 2-5,: 26, on the other hand the relays 23, 24 on. Only when the relays 25 and
26 have switched off the disturbed line A at its end, occurs at the front end
of the double lines shows a sufficiently large current difference, and only now begins
the quotient relay 3 to run. But there is still no voltage because the switches
8 and 9 are both still closed. As a result, it switches the oil switch 8
-with the shortest delay time and thereby comes to the two relays 23 and
2.4 before. The relay 3 would work with a delay time that depends on the distance
the short circuit were dependent, it would be feared that the relay 23 precedes it,
because this started to run earlier.
